  1. I was at the game. Hotrod was on the field, but Cassel took the snap. I use the record 23-21* * includes playoffs
  2. The year before we were 7th with Hotrod under center. What changed?
  3. Enjoy losing in the eternal quest for the next Peyton Manning
  4. I agree this is a valid gripe of Hotrod. You left out onehat really bugged me. In the last Fish game last year on the play before the missed Carp FG, he had Flash open in the EZ and missed him. Would have won the game and possibly we would have made playoffs I wish he was better at this. Maybe he has improved some. This year he had 3 opportunities. Bucs down 7 in 4th,we won by 3. Panther down by 3 with less than 1:00 to play he hits Jones in hands at 2 yard line. Pass looked worse because Jones fan a bad route. (that's what Donald Jones said and he played WR in the NFL so I take his word over experts on TBD). Against Bungles he laid an egg. That's 3opportunities and he did his job in 2 of them. We were able to make the playoffs in spite of it though. Every QB has problems. Some more than others. My thing is, after 17 years of no playoffs, i don't want go dump hmi on a wing and a prayer that some rookie we draft is the next Peyton Manning. Or pick up some ofher vet that's marginally better ci that. I would prefer to keep the train rolling until an upgrade is in hand. We need better QB play absolutely. But its really hard to find a QB even as good as Hotrod that you can win with. This is not moving on from EJ or JP or Trent or Fitz.
  5. Winning is fun regardless of if the offense is "exciting" or not IMHO. Its all about WINNING. They don't tally up the Passing yards and "exciting" plays at the end of the game to determine the winner.
  6. You forgot one. 56 yards. Winning is fun regardless of if the offense is "exciting" or not IMHO. Its all about WINNING. They don't tally up the Passing yards and "exciting" plays at the end of the game to determine the winner.
  7. OC #1 and OC #2 with Hotrod under center had prolific scoring offenses. #7 in the league in 2016 going into the last week when EJ and Cardale played with OC #1/OC #2. In 2015 with OC #1 we were 13th in yards and 12th in points. Too bad they weren't the right kind of yards and TDs. Are you really going to complain about the #7 scoring offense? Offense's job is to put up points, not gaudy passing yards. I see no reason to think OC #4 can't get us back there if Hotrod returns. The biggest problem with the offense last year was OC #3 IMHO. Yes I did as a matter of fact.
  8. I learned there is somebody else besides me that thinks Alex is a really good QB and worthy of paying for.
  9. When do you think we might see him start progressing?
  10. We're not trying to win now? Looked to me this year like we are. Wait 2 years? This drought thinking. We're now in the post draught era. Its about winning now. Old habits die hard I guess.
  11. I thought this season was exciting as hell watching us win 4 out of 6 down the stretch. Getting the wins we had to have instead of figuring out new ways to lose like we did the previous 17 years. We tried in the snow bowl but came through as a team. Great stuff. Winning is fun! There are no style points in football. Just win.
  12. Really. A deals a deal. The team hadn't sniffed the playoffs in 17 years. A team wins because of it's QB. Finally we do make the playoffs in a big part due to him. And he deserves a pay cut? We should build a statue of him and put it next to Ralph's or name a street after him or something.
  13. If the Colts were willing to trade him that would tell you all you need to know. Damaged goods.
  14. He would have to change his number.
  15. When this kind of stuff is written about Hotrod on TBD,they're referred to as excuses. Do you realize EVERYTHING you said except the playoffs part applies to our QB as well? Substitute Matthews for Pryor.
  16. THE MAN Nice call Chef
  17. Woulda worked (to scarecrow song) if I only had a D ...
  18. The original question also involved drum solos. Wynton Marsalis has a cat that plays with him named Ali Jackson. He plays really cool drum solos. Not over flashy and chopped out, but rythmic and fun to listen to. He uses kindof theme and variation style building in intensity as he proceeds. This is my favorite. The solo starts at 3:30 Another example here starts around 6:37. It's followed buy a pretty decent solo by Eric Clapton.
  19. The Marcus TD pass to himself and Travis getting hurt and replaced by a guy that couldn't catch a cold didn't help either.
  20. If you're talking about Alex Smith, he was the first player taken in the 2005 draft.
  21. I actually thought Levi Brown showed some promise. But the Chanimal gave up on him so I guess he was not good enough.
  22. I was. But admittedly I only watch him when he's on MNF or TNF. Last time I saw him it wasn't so good when he threw a pick in the 4th while they still had a chance to win. But I saw Jim Kelly do that a few times too. But more power to him.
