  1. With all this talk of X, Y, and Z, was thinking maybe we should throw them a curve and got with a YYZ offense instead.
  2. he made more sense than most of them. Whenever he started talking about stuff going against the grain of the DNC like people don't care about impeachment or identity politics they tried to shut him up. Same thing happened to Ryan. meanwhile they had no problem with Castro butting in and hijacking the debate.
  3. i liked how Jay says his state believes diversity is its strength. HIs state is 23rd in the nation in diversity and 78% white. the Washington State Legislature has been passing some nifty green stuff and his "public option" this year that he was bragging about.
  4. He was one of those guys dumb ass Rex kept instead of Fred.
  5. I like winners, what can I say?
  6. Thanks, thebandit27, oh great arbiter of football knowledge. Still, I'll take my chances.
  7. Trent has the hardware. I don't care if he's an all time great or not. I suspect when he goes to bed at night with his Lombardi by his side he worries about if thebandit27 considers him to be an "all time great" or not. Big time players make the big time plays when they need to be made. Trent did. Josh not so much yet. We'll see.
  8. The person I'm thinking of has been on for a long time. Won't help.
  9. I understand where you're coming from sort of but just disagree. You win with studs. Sammy was a stud. I understand the injury concern, but WRs get hurt. That's why you need 2 or 3 top notch ones. Sadly now we don't have any even after the Cole and Brown signings. To my way of thinking if you want to develop a young QB you surround him with quality pass catching WRs/TEs that can catch footballs not perfectly throw and are expert route runners as opposed to surrounding him with Zay "Drop Zone" Jones, Ray Ray McCloud, McKenzie, Foster etc. This is my #1 beef with Beane.
  10. Maybe it's just me, but I call 100+ yards in the AFC Conference game as producing. And as far as your scenario and mine is we don't know, so they both have the same odds of being right. To each his/her won. Sometimes the difference between winning and losing is very small and can come down to one guy on one play.
  11. Trent has the hardware. If/when Josh gets the hardware I'll give him the same consideration. Just win baby.
  12. I'm putting the over/under at 1, as in the number of days after the first pre season game before we get a Tyree should start thread.
  13. while you are right there is no proof (How can there be?) I suspect that if we had Sammy in there instead of Thompson who dropped a key pass and didn't get a first down cuz he ran behind the sticks, We win that playoff game. That would be material.
  14. I don't care what other teams did or did not do with Sammy. He WAS the best WR we had in a very long time and better than anyone else we've had since. I'd take him for only 8 games over Foster, Zay, Kaelin Clay, Deonte Thompson, Ray Ray McCloud, McKenzie, Kelvin Benjamin, Jordan Matthews ... I like some of the things Beane and McDermott have done, but their handling or lack thereof the WR position is NOT one of them. Especially when one is trying to develop a young QB.
  15. Since Beane in all his brilliance dumped Sammy, going on 3 years later I'm still trying to figure out who on our team can do this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qObCK9t0vc
  16. Why would he need to? Even if he loses, he's not going to leave anyway.
  17. Not to get too political, but it's cases like this that indicate to me at least that "privilege" has way more to do with money than race. Here we have a rich 1 percenter man who wants a better seat so he uses his "privilege" to go around all the web sites and lines etc to get a better seat. The Jussie Smallet case where the first lady's chief of staff calls the DA and says Jussie is a good guy so he gets off as opposed to what happens to others that don't have powerful friends or money.
  18. Worked for me. I have had a nice somewhat lucrative career all in the field I majored in. I came out debt free. I only worked in the summer and a little part time when I was low on beer money. All this for serving a few years in a non combat MOS. Dang near anybody can do the same. Sorry, I just don't feel sorry for you if you have massive student loan debt and have to live with your parents til you're 40.
  19. Maybe it's just me, but if Andy Reid who already has Alex Smith calls me and wants to trade me a 1st round pick so he can draft a QB, I tell him no and hang up. Then I draft the guy he wanted.
  20. Perhaps, but at least so far the results have been very similar which is all I care about. However, I would say Doug Flutie and Drew Beldsoe were more disparate than these 2 guys. As are Russell Wilson and Phillip Rivers.
  21. But that's not football. That's a parlor trick. It's like when you go to the basketball game and the guys are standing around taking shots before the game, they make almost every one. When the actual game starts, well, it's different. Same in football. And guys can work on footwork all summer, but when under pressure they often fall to old habits. At this point I view Josh as very similar to JP Losman. JP could hit a few nice balls to Lee and the guys and then bounce a drive killer to the Beast in the flat on 3rd and 3. Some of that other stuff can be taught and hopefully the accuracy part can be too. I'm just gonna have to see it first. Go BILLS !!
  22. Good for the person who turned him down. Tell him to take his privilege and shove it where the sun don't shine.
  23. In other words, he's inaccurate. I did read some of those other posts, but just not buying it UNTIL he shows it on the field resulting in wins. If you have to do statistical slicing and dicing to prove he's OK, then I'm not sure what to think about that. He's on his third level of football, HS, college, and now the bigs. In all stops he's been plagued by bad coaching and a bad supporting cast. How much of that does he own? Any? Maybe it was a combination of things (including him) with the same results? His cast will be better this year so I expect better results. You don't win much in the NFL with "his accuracy was OK." That said, I'm keeping hope alive! Go BILLS !!
  24. Thanks for the well thought out response. Maybe you're right. I hope you are. I didn't do a thorough pass by pass analysis or anything like that. But I did watch him some in college and of course last year in Buffalo. Given his bad WRs and OLine etc, I still saw primarily an inaccurate QB. I'll know he can be accurate when he IS accurate. Until then I'm operating on a wait and see basis. All the stats and everything you post make up for the results somewhat, but when I hear successful career football men like Troy and Hal say accuracy can't be taught and it's what I've seen personally in 50+ years watching football, it make me nervous about Josh ever being an accurate passer. Go Josh !! Go BILLS
