  1. True. But they didn't take over a floundering team that has won 7 games in the last 3 years. We were .500 over the previous 3 years before they arrived with a pretty talented roster. Probably more talented than what we have now. It was their decision to do what they did including passing on all three of the hottest young QBs in the AFC (Watson, Mahommes, Jackson). And then NOT surrounding the one they did take with talent that could help him succeed and instead investing heavily in the Defense. D is good, but you do have to score some points too. They don't get a pass on that IMHO. And your hot pocket comment was funny, I guess.
  2. Except the Washington game. I thought they had figured it out. Maybe they did only to forget about it the following week.
  3. the thing that struck me is that the Vikings have an accurate QB and really good WRs, yet they still had time to pound the rock and did it effectively. This in turn helped the pass game. us not having Diggs and Cook etc is no excuse. Whose fault is that? We're in year 3 of the McDermott era. That should have been enough time to assemble a talented roster. We passed on a lot of talented guys playing well on playoff caliber teams. Some of them we ran off.
  4. Except the one in the Eagles game where he UNDER THREW the WR by 5 yards with the wind. Do you want a running QB? We had one of those and we ran him out of town. I think his problem with the long pass is not that he's nervous. He's just not good at it. He wasn't last year and wasn't particularly good at it in college either. It's a passing league. We need a QB that can pass.
  5. on this video of looks like the football never hit the ground in which case, it's a pick.
  6. The ending of today's game to me anyway was eerily similar to a Dick Jauron game I was at ironically against the Clowns. It was the Monday Night game in Brady Quinn's first start. The game Trent threw 3 picks in our first 4 possessions. We battled back to get the football back with less that 2:00 to go down by 2. A FG wins it and keeps our playoff hopes alive. Trent quickly got us down to the 35 where we camped out and then Lindell missed a long FG. Sound familiar? That was the night ? I officially jumped off the DJ bandwagon.
  7. what's taking them so long? This should have started in 2018 if you're going to heavily invest in and roll with a rookie QB.
  8. As to first bolded, I think it may be time to bring a plan B QB into the fold. They could absolutely survive it if the next guy (if needed) can win. Winning is the best deoderant. As for the second, I'm thinking if our O doesn't improve a lot over the rest of the season, he may have to to keep his job.
  9. That was the 3rd pass of the game long with a guy wide open that he missed badly. If he hits any one of those we probably win. Bad call and worse pass.
  10. against the the 30th best run D, you pass 41 time and only hand off 14 times? Singletary got 5.3 per run as you don't give him the football? Biggest reason we lost IMHO. singletary needs 20 runs per game and a few passes. Feed Singletary.
  11. In baseball you can't score on defense or kicking teams There was a gAme a few years ago where a team won by getting a safety. I think it was Cincinnati that lost that one.
  12. I went to my first NHL game last year. The Sabres 10th win in a row game. It went to OT. Like you I didn't reAlize they went to 3 on 3. It was awesome and it ended pretty quickly. I like it. Not sure if translates into football ?though. I thought it was good before they started messing with it. Wasn't broke IMHO You gotta play all 3 sides of the football. It's gotta end sometime.
  13. HOF Deion Sanders knows who he is. I watch/fast forward through his show to see what they say about the Bills game. He says our D is for real. He also nicknamed White as The Tredavian Nightmare and has interviewed him post game several times this season.
  14. thanks for responding. Evidently you are right since that's what they all do. last night ? though their season was on the line and possibly even Coach Lynn's job. Your QB is turning the football ? over in mass quantities. Seems to me anyway you might want to change course to save the season as opposed to going down with the ship like Coach Lynn did. As it stands, their season is probably over unless they win out. Odds would be a lot better at 5-5. But, that's what football ? do. I don't understand it. Maybe it's a jock thing.
  15. Why'd you hit it so hard? And you need a bridge for that shot.
  16. On NFL network game preview, 1 of the 3 picked us. Clowns are #30 in run defense. Feed Singletary. Give Gore some.carries too. DiMarco even. Keep Baker and Chubb on sidelines cooling heals. Keep OBJ by his punter net.
  17. I want both positive and negative comments articulated in a well thought out way. I don't want to be insulted if you disagree with me. Explain why you do please.
  18. Thanks for explaining. I must have missed those 10 trillion interviews. I'm just thinking back to the 70s when I was a Cowboy fan and our rivalry was intense with Washington and NY and Philadelphia. The players said so too. When Jim Kelly comes out on the field before a game and says to the crowd "Now, let's squish some fish" it makes me think it was an epic rivalry for him (I was at that game.) But maybe he is just doing it because he doesn't play anymore. But that was back when real men played football and there was not as much money involved so perhaps you are right.
  19. Maybe you don't LOL. This isn't necessarily a Rivers vs Hotrod thing. Why can't you bench a QB when he is having a bad game? I have never understood this concept in the NFL. College coaches do it. Think of college championship game last year. But NFL coaches won't do it. If an RB fumbles you take him out. Think Yeldon. If a punt returner muffs one, you take him out. Think Ray Ray. But QBs, never. Why? If it will ruin a guy's confidence to do it then he didn't have very much to begin with. Any idea why this is?
  20. You could have saved yourself some time and just responded with "I HATE TYROD!" Maybe I do, but what did I say that was invalid? Now their season is probably over thanks in large part to Phillip Rivers.
  21. Go ahead and laugh 808, but hear me out. The reason the Chargers lost is because Phillip Rivers started out turning the football over and continued too til the bitter end (probably of their season). And Chuckie was coming after him because everyone knows he's a statue back there with great success. They were within 3 in the 2nd half. Stop the bleeding. The run game was working. They got 146 yards on the ground in the game. On one of their best drives they ran on almost every play. #24 and #25 were gashing the Raiders. With the season on the line, why not put in a QB that does not turn the football over and can evade pressure? Let him hand off a lot and drop back on some plays and take off running when they come after him. It amazes me that NFL coaches would rather go down with the ship with a QB having a bad game. If the punt returner muffs one, they put someone else back there. You could do the same with QB. Besides that, historically when it's all the on the line, Rivers is at his worst as we saw last night.
  22. Rivers sucked and sucks. I kept urging Coach Lynn to put Hotrod in while he still had a chance, but he blew and never did.
