  1. An 8 year old boy should be about 50" (4' 2") tall, and weigh about 55lbs to be in the 50th percentile for height and weight. For the 95th percentile the kid should be about 54" (4' 6") tall, and weigh about 75lbs. http://www.kidsgrowth.com/stages/viewgrowthcharts.cfm?id=BH318 http://www.kidsgrowth.com/stages/viewgrowthcharts.cfm?id=BW318 You can have your kids taken away for beating them. You can have your kids taken away for mentally abusing them. You can have your kids taken away for starving them. But you can't have them taken away for making them morbidly obese?
  2. What was his other hand doing?
  3. It's a bit tricky when that thing you don't do well is 'play football'.
  4. Horseradish is one of the most under appreciated condiments IMO.
  5. I wasn't really trying to determine the price, as I'm not up to date on all the factors. Just that people often think oil and natural gas go hand in hand and are identical global commodities. I would speculate (and without research it's pure speculation) that in the US natural gas is rather abundant and since demand isn't sky high, and the supply isn't in danger (hurricanes/tropical storms), that the price will remain at its current relatively low point.
  6. Natural gas isn't the same type of global commodity that oil is. It's much more difficult to transport NG around the world than it is oil.
  7. Riiight. Should we pass out gold stars for new people so they feel special and then don't have to start LAMP threads?
  8. What's the deal with the sudden cries for attention just for being new?
  9. If you hate the service you get in the self-checkout line, what exactly does that say?
  10. She'll make another mint selling her divorce story. Then when that dries up, a suspicious Wedding Night Sex Tape will get released.
  11. Not bankrupt quite yet. But it's only $55 million. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/67287.html
  12. This is the correct answer folks. Thanks for playing.
  13. Why are you following Ryan Seacrest?
  14. Was it good for you? Does size matter?
  15. Check your math. 100*(1,500,000/239,460,000) = 0.627%. Just eyeballing it should tell you that 1 million is 1% of 100 million. So there's no way 1.5 million could be 6+% of 239 million. And you should probably subtract children, retired people, and the disabled from the population to get a better overall number. http://www.bls.gov/cps/ **The following calculation is only being used to determine the size of the US workforce, not to dispute the unemployment # you presented** 2010 #'s: Unemployment rate = 9.1% # of unemployed = 14,825,000 Total population of workforce should be about (14,825,000/.091) = 163 million. So instead of using 307 million, try using 163 million. 1.5/163 = 0.92% of the US works at Wallyworld and Target. Also note: "The labor force is the sum of employed and unemployed persons. The labor force participation rate is the labor force as a percent of the civilian noninstitutional population." ftp://ftp.bls.gov/pub/special.requests/lf/aat3.txt
  16. I know these numbers are just chump change, but: Beacon Power - $43M TR AUTO - $400,000
  17. Wow. Those are 4 terrible movies. Catwoman was beyond bad. I don't even know if MST3K or RiffTrax could help it out.
  18. So the homeless don't get to be a part of the 99%? !@#$ you rich people! !@#$ you homeless people! Anyone else?
  19. Maybe it's just me, but almost everyone that I've personally known who's owned a Dodge/Chrysler vehicle in the past 15 years has had some sort of transmission issue. Not a statistically valid sample size, but enough to give me major concerns.
  20. No. Explain with details and pics.
  21. Hmm...sounds like a good ass chewing to me.
  22. If he did swallow something, try just feeling with some pressure on his stomach. Sometimes you can feel a foreign object in there, or you might get him to yelp again, giving you some confirmation that he swallowed something. If you did think he swallowed something that he can pass, you might try giving him some canned pumpkin to help get him to pass it.
