  1. Or an empty cup or bottle while driving. Although I need a widemouth bottle
  2. Hey, if you have guys on the team, look to see if you can level them up. A few extra skill points might be just what the Meatballs need to ensure a rise from the league cellar.
  3. I have never seen the this before, but I hope this isn't a very accurate sample of what the Wonderlic is actually like. If the Wonderlic is really this easy, the there are definitely some mentally challenged people in the NFL. Until shown otherwise, I'll just assume this is an internet friendly version made to help people feel good about themselves.
  4. How many points was the offense responsible for that game? Why am I responding to a Crayonz post???
  5. Pfft...You have to know when to yell "I'm open!!!" as well. Sheesh
  6. That's good. Because that was a concern of mine, that even in the little playing time that he got, was it enough to say, "Holy cow, get him off the field, he sucks" or "Hey, this kid could be pretty good." Might I throw out that nagging minor injuries for an inexperienced kid could be enough to make the coaching staff keep him out of games, where they could at least use healthy veterans of lesser ability to at least not make mistakes that minor injuries could compound. As in, a nagging hammy making you're closing speed a little slower, which means a guy that is out of position, isn't likely to be able to make up for it with his athleticism as easily. Therefore start a healthy vet, who hopefully won't make the out of position rookie mistake. The few clips of McCargo I got to see, were impressive. I think he has a lot of potential, and playing next to a Marcus Stroud should only benefit him even more. I just wonder if it would be a mistake to think our D-line was "fixed", and not try to bolster it some more.
  7. Going into the 2007 offseason, the thoughts of many around here was: McCargo was a bust and Marv made a mistake moving up to draft him, and Youboty was up and coming and would win the #2 job, and at the worst be our nickel back. Well, 2007 played out, and McCargo was still Triplett's backup, but showed some promise at times in a few games. Youboty didn't win the #2 CB spot, and they mixed Whitner and the other safeties into the game in nickel situations. Now, in the 2008 offseason, with Triplett and Webster gone, the pairing of McCargo and Stroud is said to be a fixed D-line, bordering on terrific, and Youboty is the odd man out at CB that will never be a starting corner. Now, I'm not in a location that I actually get to watch (on TV) many Bills games a year. I have to keep up with them on gamedays through the internet, and any replayed games on the NFL Network, so I can't really be a good judge of player ability. But my question is for those that know football, and are able to analyze players, Is McCargo really as good as we're hoping, and is Youboty really as bad as we're making him out to be? IMO, these are still 2 really young guys, that due to circumstances missed most of their first season in the NFL, and really only have 1 year of experience. Is McCargo good enough to pass up a early round DT, and is Youboty bad enough to think that an early round rookie will come in and play better than him?

  10. That is a mean harmonica solo in that song. The only type of harmonica I tend to hear much today is so John Popper-esque that it's refreshing to hear a really gritty and bluesy harmonica solo. Clutch has a lot of albums, but I'm not such a big fan of their older, harder stuff. I like the more recent albums like Elephant Riders, Blast Tyrant, and From Beale Street to Oblivion (which is what the linked song is from). It's all the more bluesy end of the hard rock scale. I find them interesting because most hard rock on the radio today is so much overproduced, regurgitated tripe. Image is everything and all that. They seem to be at least doing their own thing with their own sound, and not blending into the Creed/Nickleback/InsertName mainstream sound that everyone else seems to be putting out. Funny Clutch story. First time I saw them in concert was in St. Louis about 9 years ago (geez, it's been that long???), and I knew absolutely nothing about them. They were playing their Elephant Riders album, and were just jamming in the middle of some song near the end of their set. When all of a sudden, some guy comes out on stage with a pushbroom in his hand sweeping the stage. Knowing nothing about Clutch, I wasn't sure if it was part of the show or not until the drummer threw a stick at the guy, and the lead singer then ran over and punched him in the head. Needless to say, that's how their set ended. Apparently the guy with the broom didn't appreciate a little blues jamming at that concert.

  12. I prefer to rename rappers with my own version of their stupid names, such as: Missy Nevermissedameal Elliot See, equally as dumb, but somewhat more fitting IMO.
  13. Supposedly Reuben's style of producing is to encourage bands to do what they do best, and not worry about reinventing themselves or other crap. The articles I've read about this upcoming album is that it's supposed to be a more back to old Metallica....we'll see

  15. At what point do you yell through the bathroom door to your girlfriend, who's been sitting there for as long as you can remember, that you're going out for ice cream, and then just never come back?
  16. Apparently so. So now it appears that he'll be charged the late fee as well
  17. Oh look, she's an aspiring musician. How cute. Look out American Idol, here she comes. If they actually charge this guy with a misdemeanor, how is it that she won't be charged as well?
  18. But that also means that all the stupid posts don't count either. Classics such as Poz is a Smoker TE versus JP X or I will quit the world when the Bills move to Canada
  19. If this is the case, it might not be as bad as it initially sounds. Rd 1 12th = 1200 Rd 1 30th = 620 Rd 2 12th = 460 Rd 3 12th = 210 Rd 3 29th = 128 If we gave up one of our Rd 3 picks, and do a good job of negotiating the playing time condition so that it would likely turn out as a second round pick, we'd be giving up about 670 or 588 pts worth of value, which would be the same as a Rd 1 27th or 30th pick (assuming our draft status is approximately the same as it is this year, and not devaluing a next year's pick by a round). If we swapped first rounders with them, and gave them a third rounder, that would be a trade worth either 790 or 708 points of value. Which is equivalent of either a 1st round 22 or 26th pick. This trade could be worked out so that it is actually better than the trade many people are saying is the right way to go. The better the Bills do this year, the lower the conditional pick will be, thereby devaluing SD's end of the trade. I wouldn't be against it until I actually heard the terms of the conditional pick. But assuming that DJ is definitely set on a 2 back system, I think it could be very likely that Turner won't hit the conditional playing time amount to give away a first for him next year. This deal has the potential to bite us in the ass, but I think that Marv and DJ might know what they're doing enough so that it could actually be good.
  20. Well, the following is only my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. Living in OK, I haven't seen any Bills games this year. The best I can do is getting on NFL.com and watching the stats tick by. But if I remember correctly, the first 3-4 games this year seemed to be filled with short pass plays by the Bills, and an occasional deep throw. I don't know if they were 3 step drops or not (again, haven't gotten to actually see them play), but a lot of them seemed to be short. < 10 yds, and passes out in the flats. I can only assume there were some 3 step drops in there for the amount of short passes it seemed we were completing. It seemed to be a common complaint that the short throws weren't getting it done and the offense was too dependent on receivers YAC. JP needed to use his "rocket, laser arm" and stretch the field. But I don't think anyone would argue that the whole team didn't look better in the first 4 games than they have in the last 4 games. Now it seems that the Bills are only attempting passes that are > 10yds down field. Well, when you attempt long passes and they are incomplete, that leaves the team in long yardage situations for the next down. Now, like everyone else, I have no ideas what plays are being called, and what, if any, audibles are being called. But it seems to me that the biggest problem with the offense is the lack of utilization of the tools that they do have. Is JP the QB for the future? I have no idea. Is McGahee the RB for the future? Who knows. Should any player on the Bills offense be very secure in their job? Probably not. Not one of them has performed up to par this season. Have we seen any flashes of greatness mixed in with good performances in some situations? Absolutely. But the offense as a whole has underperformed, each and every player out there has. But if you have an inexperienced QB, and a suspect OL, perhaps some shorter pass plays are in order? Perhaps more utilization of the TE is in order? Perhaps more screens are in order? Perhaps plays that appropriately use the talent that is currently on the team is what the Bills need instead of plays that ask the guys on the team to do things they just aren't able to do well. It should be obvious to the OC that 5-7 step drops for long pass plays are not always working for the Bills. Runs straight up the middle through our suspect OL are not always working. Perhaps we should be doing more of the things that we can do, instead of the things we can't. I'm not saying never pass it deep, or never run it in the middle, but do those plays in moderation, those shouldn't be the bulk of the playcalling. It almost seems to me that the coaches aren't focused on winning, but are still trying to figure out what this team can and can't do well. Lots of people are wanting to blame the QB, or the RB, or the OL, or the DL, or the DB's, for the failures and shortcomings of the team. I blame the coaches. It's the first job of the coaches to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their team, and then to get their team to play to their strengths, and keep working on eliminating the weaknesses. I would venture to say that most people couldn't name the Bill's strengths, on either side of the ball. Who's fault is that? Is it the fans' fault for not being observant? No. is it the players faults for not trying, or constantly failing? Not really. It's the coaches fault for not putting the team in a position to show us their strengths. But just as QB's are said to need 3 years to develop, most coaches also need about 3 years to develop.
