  1. I could be wrong, but it seems to me the coaching staff is to blame. Not because of the OL coaching specifically. Josh has been trying to push the ball downfield while the defense is showing 2 deep safeties. Is this Josh hero ball or is it the offensive coordinator? I know there is a great deal of faith in the receivers. Perhaps they are pushing the boundaries of what Josh and the receivers can do. And the OL for that matter. I'm wondering if there is a big picture issue instead of trying to lay the blame on a coach or OLmen. This line was considered very good at pass blocking last year. I do remember last year, everyone was talking about how Josh was taking what the defense was giving him and surprisingly hitting on shorter routes. Perhaps defenses are playing us a bit differently, but I think there are many different ways to attack the problem and it doesn't involve firing coaches or replacing linemen. Guys like Beasley have been underused this year. Those short routes will force a safety to play shallower. That's when you can take those deep shots, instead of trying to force it. To me, it looked like the offense kept trying to do the same thing that didn't work the first time over and over. And it wasn't until too late in the game before they adjusted. Also, I believe that this OL needs to get creative with the run blocking schemes. Need to mix it up, because it just seems to be the same play every time a RB is given the hand off. And for the love of god Josh, when you hand off the ball to a RB, let him take it while he has a head of steam, instead of make them stop because you can't decide whether you want to keep it yourself...haha. Sorry for rambling, but I think there's some things to think about in here.
  2. Josh Allen drops back to pass. Josh Allen comes screaming in for the sack. Josh Allen side steps easily, delivers a strike to Diggs and the other Josh Allen turns around just in time to watch the catch being completed. Josh Allen turns to Josh Allen and gives him a thumbs up.
  3. Headphones on. Sinatra?
  4. Working younger guys in is key, yes. And we are all ready seeing that play out. Cody Ford for instance, as a rookie was tasked with learning both Guard and Tackle positions. He has had his ups and downs. Some would say more downs than ups. It's been reported that he is being coached fundamentals while sitting out. It'll be interesting to see how he does in this game. There is also a rookie CB that was pushing Levi Wallace that eventually will get his shot. Then there are guys like Ed Oliver who had to play in Star's absence last year and this year is benefiting from playing beside him. Then there are rookies that are so talented, the coaches are finding it hard to keep off the field. I'm thinking of Greg Rousseau and Spencer Brown. It's fascinating watching how these youngsters are handling adversity. I think as they mature, become wiser, become a more complete team mate, we are going to be pleasantly surprised. They are in a system that is teaching them to be the best version of themself. I'm very optimistic about this team, not only for this year, but also for years to come.
  5. Yikes! So potentially, we could be without both Mitch and Josh to start?
  6. He leaked out and turned around for a possible dump off from Allen. Not sure that was his assignment.
  7. Even Meyer has respect for the way this team was built. Says they have studied the Bills and they are one of the best builds in recent history. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/jacksonville-jaguars/os-sp-jacksonville-jaguars-buffalo-bills-nfl-20211105-k7mdxag7zrdmzktcc7ciu2ot5i-story.html
  8. Hyde and Poyer are getting recognized as the best safety tandem in the NFL. Ed Oliver is becoming the force that we hoped he would. Edmunds is looking great this year. Even Greg Rousseau is being recognized as a possible DROY candidate. I keep thinking that having Star Lotulelei back has had a ripple effect over the whole D, but it's more than that. The front office made a real effort to resign their own. The communication on the field between players is elite. Everyone knows what the man next to him is doing and it is showing up in the games. The interesting thing, in my mind, is that the team concepts in place are allowing multiple players to make plays at every level of the D. In turn that is increasing recognition. There are multiple players considered to be elite on this D. It should also be pointed out that the success this year can be attributed to great coaching. The way this team works together is the best I have seen in recent memory. It's very clear that this entire team was built on a solid foundation.
  9. Me like.... It looked to me that the RB was leaking out to be a possible target for Josh.
  10. Some good points here. I'm pretty sure if McDermot could get a Kahlil Mack or Von Miller, he wouldn't complain. And Star is having a very positive effect on the overall defense. Others are benefiting from the dirty work he is doing up front. I believe though that the pass rush is much better than they are getting credit for. These QBs are getting the ball out fast. You can see that they are game planning it that way because you do not want to hold the ball long against this team. Just watching their defensive front, you can see the disruption from play to play. They get after it in the trenches and it's not just the DEs either. What is really impressive, is that the run defense is good enough to make opposing offenses prefer the short passing game. It seems to me that this defense and the coach who leads it is intentionally trying to force the pass. Specifically the short passing game. Teams are not getting away with deep passes, because they don't have time and the coverage is so good. That short pass game increases the percentage of throws and by sheer numbers also the number of mistakes. Look at the number of interceptions. And like you said, it's a team effort. No one guy is getting all of those picks. And it is often a pick because the guys up front are putting pressure on the passer. I believe, this team is embracing the fact that is a passing league. Heck, they are even forcing teams to pass more.
  11. Great throw. Terrible punt.
  12. There were multiple instances where the laces were facing the kicker last year. Even if you want to put that on the snapper, it's still up to the holder to handle it and get those laces facing the goal instead of the kicker.
  13. Um, in the twitter post up above.
  14. Yes, he doesn't kick far and he does shank them more than we like. I do like that he is a good at taking the snap and getting the ball right for a scoring opportunity. Also like that hang time. No one is breaking off a big return because of it. Also, he is not punting very much to get those punts dropped behind the 20. I hate those shanks. It seems to me he is trying to drop punts close to the out of bounds line on purpose and missing by that much? I agree, he doesn't have a strong leg. I'm just not sure it's as bad as all that.
  15. Aside from his shanking punts occasionally, apparently he has great hang time on them and very few yards after the catch. His usefulness is significantly greater than his predecessor.
  16. From what I have seen, they have been getting burned in the passing game but yeah, their front 4 is solid and it shows in their ability to stop the run. But they are bottom of the league in sacks. They aren't getting enough pressure on the QB. Bills are a nightmare for them offensively. Allen with time will chew them up and spit them out.
  17. I hope they do attempt a cover 0. Miami has a pretty darn good secondary. Jags? Not even close. Plus Miami did a pretty good job rushing the passer. Jags are too slow to get to the QB. This is absolutely the game to attack with the passing game. Couple of long connections and that defense won't know what to do. It's all about exploiting weaknesses and man are they weak stopping the passing game.
  18. Is that an illegal hands to the face on 94?
  19. The guy in the gap got run over by a truck.
  20. https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2021/11/02/is-the-washington-football-team-trying-to-swing-a-trade-for-mitchell-trubisky/ https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/mitchell-trubisky-trade/ Just plopping these here. Don't know how reliable either of these are, but rumor has it Trubisky is a hot commodity right now.
  21. I have a theory with the front four on D. It seems to me, they are always playing strait up beat your man. Do they ever run stunts, where a Dlineman runs around another DLineman to reach a gap and pressure the QB? Usually I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see if someone makes it to the QB, but a little trickery on the DLine can really pay dividends. Meatball used to do it, but not sure if these young guys are?
  22. Cole Beasley had 10 catches out of 13 for 110yds. Some of those were a quick pass to him behind the line of scrimmage as soon as the ball is hiked. It looked like it worked more times than not.
  23. It seems to me, the AFC east is starting to get better as a whole. Miami fought hard. New England is increasingly getting better and the Jets have now surprised two very good teams. The Bills are now the hunted, and they better find a way to be more consistent. They are clearly have the talent but man are they up and down a lot.
  24. Yes, that makes sense. Tua has been doing pretty well with the quick timing routes. They need speed to disrupt those. Do that and he is pretty likely to throw a pick.
  25. He played a little in Houston 7 targets and 3 catches. Not much to go on, but given he was picked 10 spots before Knox, might develop into a good TE.
