I agree about not making excuses. From what I have seen, he nearly always throws terribly his first few passes of a game. Seems like a mental thing, because once he gets clicking, he is generally pretty decent. The coaches should make him throw on first down and second down so he can get that crap out of his system. Personally, I think the game is slowing down for him and that he has made some strides, but man does he start slow. Another thing that bothers me is the run first, all the freaking time, mentality. This offense is without a doubt a run heavy system, but lets not get ridiculous! You don't always have to run to set up the pass, you can also pass to set up the run. Another thing that drives me crazy is EJ often runs an option play and nearly always hands it off when he has a wide open side to run to himself. The play calling has improved, but still needs some work. EJ has improved, but still needs some work. No more excuses. It's time to start producing. I'd like to see him start a game throwing the ball..... may actually help him out.

This was a team loss. There was a lot of sucking to go around. I also think Rivers after playing in the NFL for 9yrs almost has a 6th sense out there. Plus I saw some very interesting blocking by that offense that completely caught the D with their pants down. EJ is clearly still learning. He'll chalk this one up to experience, learn from it and move on. SDs defense was easily better than I thought too. The disruption at line of scrimmage was not what I envisioned from this team. They are going to be in the playoff picture.

Just saw Brady and his QB coach cursing each other out on NFL Today. That was funny.

Biggest advantage is SD playing in a sold out Ralph with a riled up crowd screaming at the top of their lungs while Rivers tries to audible. I have seen this effect opposing teams for years. The time zone thing may have a bit of an effect, but we are talking about professional athletes that do this all the time. Also, some of these west coast teams have had some really sucky teams over that time frame. The AFCE has been one of the most competitive conferences in football for a long time. Not saying the data isn't helpful, but you do have to try and put things in perspective by looking at more than just time zone data.

The intensity level on both sides of the ball has been off the charts. I want to see that continue.

Here are some highlights of Rogers vs the Hawks D. It's really pretty amazing how often he got the ball off at the last second and still connected. Watching the coverage by Seattle, I thought they looked slow(heat?). The more I watch, I think our defensive line can do better and I think our coverage is going to be a problem for them. We have more speed. This game may not be as tough as I initially thought. I think Rivers is going to have a rough day.
