I have to give Miami and McDaniel credit…they could easily have packed it in after the trade deadline and Grier’s firing, but they’re proving to be a tough out. Their front seven is actually quite good, even with the injuries and the Phillips trade…
I’m not saying they shouldn’t sit Keon; I’m saying I don’t think they will. He was a high draft pick and I don’t think McBeane is ready to admit that it was a mistake, especially with all the heat they’ve taken this week. It would generate a lot of media attention.
They have gone out of their way to shield Coleman from media criticism, and I think de-activating him would be seen as scapegoating him. It’s certainly a possibility, though.
I do not think they will activate Moore or Shavers over Coleman. They have not given up on him yet, and making him a healthy scratch would be too much.
