Does anyone remember when shotgun was a formation that college and pro teams used to use to help out their undersized QBs who had trouble seeing (and throwing) past the line of scrimmage when under center? Doesn't seem to apply here...

As someone who grew up in DC and attended many games at RFK as a kid, it makes me sad to hear these stories about FedEx Field. RFK was such a great, atmospheric place to watch a game, and not a bad seat in the house. I hope we're not pining for old "Rich Stadium" in a few years...

Yeah, he's a really good number 2 receiver, but not a true #1. I don't think you trade a first for a guy like that, although he is only 26. I don't know if the Bears trade him for the Bills' 2, which is likely to be a late 2nd. The Bears are going to be absolutely loaded going into this draft. They have their 1 and Carolina's, both of which could be top three. Given the historic nature of this upcoming QB draft, they'll take their guy with the first of their first round picks and trade the other for a huge haul, so I'm not sure a late second from Buffalo moves the needle very much for them...

Chargers’ weapons are pathetic. Bottom 6 or 7 in the league. No one to stretch a defense at all.

Bad example…that was Herbert’s best game as a pro…like saying Josh Allen “didn’t get it done” in the 13 seconds game.

I wonder if any team in the NFL has played more games in bad weather than the Bills over the past four seasons...I'd be surprised.

I'm not sure I agree with that. I think it's because Herbert's not as physically tough as Allen, even though they are the same size. He was injured a couple times at Oregon on designed runs. After that, Oregon kept him in the pocket and he was not as effective. I have not seen him run any designed runs with the Chargers.

This pretty well sums it up for me. I think the Chargers’ weapons are highly overrated…absolutely no deep threat, for a qb who throws a really nice deep ball. I would add one or two other things: if we’re talking W-L, the Chargers have zero home field advantage. That probably costs them a game it two a year. it’s curious to me that Herbert really doesn’t ever run the ball unless forced to; no designed runs. This is a guy who is probably Josh Allen’s equal as a runner. I assume it’s because of injury concerns but this is a major part of his game that the chargers just ignore. the guy just isn’t clutch. Always picks the worst time to make a bad decision. He was the same at Oregon. He is a pretty soft guy, playing for a soft team in a soft part of the country. Bad combination.

Same as last year. They just aren't as lucky. They are average.
