  1. I remember reading somewhere that Gilliam was asked to do more on special teams this week because a number of the younger guys who usually play special teams were forced into regular roles. So they needed Gilliam more for special teams this time. As we get guys back, Gilliam can get back into the offensive game plan. I really think he is more versatile than we think and really sneaky good. He definitely had a great game with the 4 TDs, though at the same time he had like 7 catches for only something like 27 total yards. He was great in the red zone for sure, but the Raiders didn’t let him do much else. (Like it mattered, but still…)
  2. There's a lot of things I'd love to see on Sunday. One of them is, weirdly, Gilliam getting a bunch of snaps. Does well with run blocking, and he's a sneaky good receiving option.
  3. I thought so too, but apparently not. I was at the game and saw him looking fine on the sidelines after the injury, and he did go back into the game. But the report I saw is that he took himself out after a couple of snaps because he was ineffective due to the hammy. Doesn't mean he won't be back in time for this week, but I would guess not. Bills staff have generally taken the long view and will probably rest him to get him back to 100% for the rest of the season.
  4. I remember when a Bills QB throwing for 300 yards in a game was just a fantasy.
  5. well, someone *did* mention Baker… No, Hart came in a few times as an extra lineman, had to declare as eligible each time.
  6. The kind of hot take I’ve come to expect on this board would be someone arguing that we should just cut Hyde and keep Hamlin in there next season. Taiwan.
  7. Slightly off topic, and I know a lot of people can’t stand Jim Nantz, but I can’t get enough of the way he excitedly pronounces Gabe Davis’s name.
  8. Gabe Davis is the reason I can’t understand why people want OBJ on this team. Where would he fit? Why take away plays from Gabe? I just hope Beane can figure out how to keep him long term.
  9. They did, it was the most yards by a Bills QB in regulation.
  10. Yep. Phillips jogged off the field to the sidelines. Never went into the tent, never received any specific treatment on the sidelines. He was back in the game later, looked pretty good.
  11. I don't know what kind of stuff you're looking for, but I have to say, I got to town recently and I can't believe how much Bills clothing there is in Wegman's.
  12. Sure does. I'd take just about anyone other than Murph.
  13. Man, you got that right. Every time I see a big play by Buffalo and hear Murph's call, I can hardly believe it. The man has zero capacity to express high emotion in the moment. Completely sterilizes all the good plays. Sometimes it makes me think he's barely paying attention.
  14. Not ideal, but I’m guessing (hoping) a few of those are rest days to reduce the wear and tear. The video of Oliver earlier was very encouraging, I think he plays. Same with McKenzie.
  15. I agree with the others, I can’t wait to get Oliver and Phillips back. Both were playing at a high level before the injuries, and once they’re back, this defense will be so much fun to watch.
  16. I'm surprised he didn't mention how Bryant, after occupying 3 blockers, absolutely pancakes one of them to finish it off.
  17. Wow, he talks a lot more than I expected.
  18. I was 7 as well that year. But I don't think I officially started following the Bills until the next season.
  19. Looks like the moment he realized that fart was really a shart. That guy to his left looking at his butt looks like he's seeing the same thing.
  20. True, though it was Shaq who was applying much of the pressure…
  21. Yeah, that's what I tried to refer to earlier. One of @4merper4mer's finest posts. *chef's kiss*
  22. This may be true, but at the same time there's a difference between being in shape, and being in NFL tackling shape. The Bills' D depends heavily on the CBs being strong, solid tacklers, and tackling is a little like boxing in some ways. No matter how good your strength and aerobic training is, you can't just step into the ring and expect to take a lot of shots from a professional boxer. Your body can't take it right away, it takes time to adjust to being hit. I suspect the same is true for defensive players in the NFL. Tackling is hard on the body, especially on the knees when you're trying to stop a large, fast human from moving forward. I agree with some who say if he's ready to come back, he should be gradually eased into it with a snap count.
  23. If Baltimore was in the NFC, I'm sure McD would have just taken the loss. Better for our playoff seeding.
  24. Sounds like Poyer will likely play. My sense is that Oliver probably will not, but there's a chance. Haven't seen a thing about Morse yet...
