  1. That's the November list. No Tasker. This is today's list: Jared Allen, Defensive End – 2004-07 Kansas City Chiefs, 2008-2013 Minnesota Vikings, 2014-15 Chicago Bears, 2015 Carolina Panthers Willie Anderson, Offensive Tackle – 1996-2007 Cincinnati Bengals, 2008 Baltimore Ravens Ronde Barber, Cornerback/Safety – 1997-2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tony Boselli, Offensive Tackle – 1995-2001 Jacksonville Jaguars, 2002 Houston Texans (injured reserve) LeRoy Butler, Safety – 1990-2001 Green Bay Packers Devin Hester, Punt Returner/Kick Returner/Wide Receiver – 2006-2013 Chicago Bears, 2014-15 Atlanta Falcons, 2016 Baltimore Ravens Torry Holt, Wide Receiver – 1999-2008 St. Louis Rams, 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars Andre Johnson, Wide Receiver – 2003-2014 Houston Texans, 2015 Indianapolis Colts, 2016 Tennessee Titans Sam Mills, Linebacker – 1986-1994 New Orleans Saints, 1995-97 Carolina Panthers Richard Seymour, Defensive End/Defensive Tackle – 2001-08 New England Patriots, 2009-2012 Oakland Raiders Zach Thomas, Linebacker – 1996-2007 Miami Dolphins, 2008 Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Ware, Linebacker/Defensive End – 2005-2013 Dallas Cowboys, 2014-16 Denver Broncos Reggie Wayne, Wide Receiver – 2001-2014 Indianapolis Colts Patrick Willis, Linebacker – 2007-2014 San Francisco 49ers Bryant Young, Defensive Tackle/Defensive End – 1994-2007 San Francisco 49ers
  2. Don't worry. Even though Daryl is the only Williams currently on the team, once McDerrmott & Beane realize they're at the lowest total of Williams since they got here they'll be signing/drafting several & if you're luck one of them will get Antonio's number and you can wear it on opening day next season. I once had a Trent Edwards jersey, wore it to a game & he got cut a week or 2 later. I took scissors and cut his name out of the jersey.
  3. It depends on if we won any Super Bowls or not. If we had won at least 1 Super Bowl with Ben, I'd rather have won that Super Bowl (or multiple Super Bowls) instead of wondering if Josh can win one before I die. When you ask an old man like me, who probably won't make it to the end of Josh's career, I'd rather have had 18 years of Roethlisberger while I had plenty of time left. I guess a 20 year old, who is almost certain to see Josh's total career & would have missed a lot of Roethlisberger's would have the opposite answer.
  4. Ben was PO'd when Rudolph was drafted. Then he saw Rudolph play & had nothing to worry about. 😀
  5. Donahoe's fault for not offering enough for a top 10 team to trade down. If he had traded pick 13 & the picks he used to trade up for JP, someone would have traded a top 10 pick to the Bills. On the point table pick 13 is 1150, pick 43 is 470, pick 144 is 34. for the 2005 #1, pick 20 is worth 850 or using the philosophy that a pick a year away is worth a round less pick 52 is worth 380 points. So Donahoe could have offered at least 2034 points with 4 picks & had Roethlisberger (who he wanted) instead of Lee Evans & JP Losman. Those 2034 points are worth more than picks 4 through 10. Now let's compare what the Bills gave up to move from 12 to 7 for Josh which is a very similar move to what Donahoe couldn't do. The Bills traded picks 12 (1,200), 53 (370) and 56 (340) for a total of 1910 points to get picks 7 (1,500) and 255 (1). The Bills traded 1,910 points for 1,501 points, an overpayment of 409 points which is the equivalent of and early 2nd rounder, picks 49 or 50. If Donahoe had overpaid by 409 points he could have moved up to at most 7th, giving him 4 opportunities to make an offer that would be hard to refuse before Pittsburgh picked. Don't blame Cowher for tanking, blame Donahoe for not realizing you have to overpay for a franchise QB. Remember, Beane started out with the highest Bills pick at 21 (800 points) and managed to move it up to a 1500 point spot by overpaying to get Josh. Beane moved mountains to get his man, Donahoe sat on his hands and then made it worse with the panic move to get JP Losman after losing out on Roethlisberger by 2 spots in the draft.
  6. If true probably an engraved Rolex for each one. Cody Ford's should be engraved "Bartender 2022". 😀
  7. Does anyone know what Josh got the offensive linemen?
  8. Will the other Josh make it to Buffalo or is he gone before Sunday? Edit: It looks like their 3rd stringer was put on the Covid list, so Josh Rosen will be doing his best JP Losman immitation, bearded & sulking on the sidelines
  9. Nobody would ever trade for Darnold with the $18.858 million guaranteed salary for 2022. Carolina has to decide whether it's worth that $ in dead cap space not to have him around or get some more lousy QB play for their $18+ million. They're dead set on finding out if he's salvagable enough to be an $18 million backup or just bite the bullet & cut him. If it's the latter, they don't care about his future, which might be a low paid backup or a real job.
  10. Once I found out the Giants were on CBS, I had little doubt that they would show the Bills game in Albany because the local Fox station shows all the Bills preseason games & their sister staton has the Bills pregame show at 11:30 AM on Sundays. My Verizon cable guide showed the Jets game & I thought NFW. We're going to end up getting 14 of the 17 games after getting all the preseason games in Albany.
  11. If you watched the game and came up with anything less than great you need to watch it again.
  12. There were only 5 teams that drafted before the Bills at 7, so it's hard to say he wasn't on other teams radar. Cleveland got sold on analytics & Mayfield's competitive spirit & drafted him #1 and wasn't drafting another QB at 4 and their asking price to trade uip to 4 was too much for any team to trade with them. The Giants weren't sold on any QBs, they thought by adding a player they thought was the best player in the draft, Barkley, they could win with Manning. Their coach at the time, Pat Shurmur, was quoted in the media before the Bills played the Giants: Kim Jones @KimJonesSports Pat Shurmur said before 2018 draft, #NYG thought QB Josh Allen “had a chance to be a starter” in the NFL. Seems like a pretty low bar.... so I followed up. Shurmur repeated the line. BUFvsNYG on Sunday. The Jets: It's not known who their top QB was, rumors had Mayfield as their top guy, but after Mayfield went #1, the Jets felt they couldn't take Josh over Sam Darnold, who was a media darling who had played college ball in LA & with a major program. Denver decided they weren't drafting a QB when they signed Case Keenum to a big contract and like the Giants thought they had a win now team with the addition of Bradley Chubb, who many scouts had as the best defensive player in the draft. The Broncos loved Chubb, but if he wasn't available would have traded the pick to the Bills for both our 1st rounders & a 2nd (see board in post above) Indianapolis wanted 1 player, Quenton Nelson to protect Andrew Luck & had no idea Luck would be retiring a year later.
  13. Those of us who went to Jim Kelly's Hall of Fame induction got to see Madden present Dave Casper. I remember seeing him riding in the parade when we got there in the morning & hearing him present Casper later that day.
  14. It will if you're too sick to play.
  15. I don't know what Cleveland & the Jets did when they were choosing their 2018 QBs, but I've read stories that the Bills watched and charted every throw Josh made in college on film, watched him on the sidelines to see how he interacted with his teammates & coaches, talked to his coaches and watched & interviewed him at the Senior Bowl & had visits including private workouts and interviews with him both in Wyoming & Orchard Park and even judged his character by how he treated the office staff in Orchard Park. Beane always was able to explain why Josh's completion % in college was not indicative of an inaccurate QB who would struggle in the NFL.
  16. Most QB stats are garbage. Going into last night they said Tua was leading the league in completion %. Among other things, that most likely tells me that Tua doesn't do a lot of throw aways when plays break down. Rob Johnson had an inflated completion % & QB rating because he preferred to be sacked than throw it out of bounds when nobody was open. RJ also ended up with a higher completion % than Jim Kelly (61.3% [60.5 as a Bill] to 60.1%). As Buffalo Bills, Rob Johnson (85.5) had a better traditional QB rating than Jim Kelly (84.4). For their total careers RJ's 83.6 was just 0.8 points lower tham Kelly's. They weren't on the same planet on the field. Also if a team has a top goal line RB and not a Kelse type TE, the QB will have fewer red zone TD passes than if he didn't have that RB, and had a guy like Kelse, inflating the QB's stats. I remember watching Josh early in his career when he looked like a future star on the field and a dud on the stat sheet. Every time he threw it away to avoid a loss in yardage (with the Bills worst receivers & OL in recent memory), I was happy and cheered a wise decision but at the same time I knew it would hurt his stats and the stat boys would be there to criticize his numbers. The only way to properly evaluate QBs is to WATCH THE GAMES. The problem is it's very difficult to watch a game, especially if you are watching it with other fans, due to socializing factors and pay proper attention to the game, so many fans revert back to stats to define players. That's why the pros spend hours reviewing film & don't spend minutes looking at stats.
  17. Wildcat the whole game.
  18. Blake Bortles : Come on down
  19. Ian Peterman
  20. I just saw the back sports page of Newsday: "Fromm Bad to Worse"
  21. I looked at the last 20 years & the Bills have about a 30% hit rate on 5th rounders. Some, like Fromm, never played a down for the Bills. So the reality is if they didn't take Fromm, they still would be expected to draft a bust 70% of the time in the 5th round. Fromm just fell into the majority.
  22. The 5th round is the time you take a flyer on a guy. They had him pretty high on their board at that point. The Bills don't have a long term answer at backup QB & the 5th was as good a round as any to try to find one. Unfortunately, Fromm didn't show much from the time he got here. Last year reports out of camp were pretty dismal & this year they didn't get much better. They gave him the beneit of the doubt because they didn't have the normal off season practices last year and no preseason games. When I heard Fromm was starting Sunday my 1st thoughts were he's going to have a game rivaling Peterman's career.
  23. I'm not sure about posters, but there was definitely a Boston sportswriter who before the 2020 season predicted Fromm would end up as the Bills starter before the end of the season. I think it was wishful thinking on his part because deep down he knew the only way the Patriots would ever win another AFC east title would be after Josh is no longer the Bills starting QB.
  24. McDermott outcoached Belichick today. Hit the road.
