It’s time for a generational talent, blue chipper
Low Positive replied to Vickveto's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've promissed myself not to engage in Internet arguments anymore, especially when my opinion goes against existing narratives. So I have no response to this. -

Exactly. People think that if Beane just wanted it as much as they do that it can be done but trading into the top ten from 30 is almost impossible. We want blue chippers, not generational talent. We want PTPers and a few Diaper Dandies. Sorry, the phrase "blue chipper" made me think about Dick Vitale and that made me think about college basketball. And then that made me think about "Onions!" -

The closest comp that I can find is what the Falcons gave up to get from 27th to 6th to draft Julio Jones. But that was a long time ago and it was a trade with the Browns. -

I have written 3 responses to this post and deleted them all. The OP doesn't have a lot of posts and I want to encourage new blood to post more because we tend to talk in circles amongst the same group of people. Especially in the off-season. -
There are no rules on the amount of coaches or the composition of the coaching staff. Good organizations have very large coaching and scouting staffs. The Fellowship Coaches are participants of the Bill Walsh Coaching Fellowship program. https://operations.nfl.com/inside-football-ops/players-legends/nfl-player-engagement/bill-walsh-diversity-coaching-fellowship/

For everyone who still doesn't believe that Cooper Kupp "went home," here is his into press conference in a Pearl Jam t-shirt and a flannel. Can't get more Seattle than that.

Joe Burrow demanded, in both the national and local media, that the team pay both of his weapons. The thing that nobody wants to talk about in the NFL is that the great Joe Burrow needs two #1 WRs to play well. He doesn't elevate the players, they elevate him. I mean, former bust Sam Darnold had 4,339 yards and 35 TDs with two #1 WRs. But Minnesota Wisely decided not to pay him because they know that the WRs elevated him, and not the other way around. Joe Burrow is an entitled rich boy who is the most unlikable player in the league. Learn to hate him.

I live in Cincinnati and have to live with their smug fans. Ever since they got Burrow, they have this "us against the world" attitude. I was hoping that Mike Brown's finances would finally break that up, but instead I have to listen to Duke Tobin's "get your own" crap for years to come. Remember that "get your refunds" BS? I hate Burrow's smug baby face on every billboard in town. Did you know that he's "not just your average Joe?" Because Kroger tells you that from every highway in town. I hate that every person in town walks around in ugly orange shirts with tiger stripes.

Mack Hollins signs with Patriots

Played with him in high school. -
I thought the same thing. Taking a huge cap hit to make your team have less talent was a shock. But, we don't know what happens in the locker room.

What the heck are the Steelers going to do at QB?

Only if he can play CB.
