This is why I hate the draft. You spend months learning about a player and get invested in the idea of him on your team. Then another team takes him and you feel like your team lost something. You guys sold me on Grant. I expected him to drop to a place where the Bills could get uo to draft him. And then the Fins go off the board and take him. I'm sad for no reason.

Me too. I can tell you about college QBs, RBs, and WRs, but only how they played against other college players. I can't pretend to know anything about how they project to the NFL. And I know nothing about college OL and DL unless I saw them make a big play. And sometimes those players don't project well to the next level (Jack Sawyer, e.g.).

But everyone here is obsessed with how much he's "worth" or what players have "earned." You sound like my Kodak-working aunts gossiping about the neighbors, who they insisted were "loaded" because they drove an Oldsmobile instead of a Chevy and went to Florida once a year. Exactly. There will be stars in this draft. There always are. But you just as likely to hit on one in the third/fourth round as you are at the end of the first. The scouts are going to have to earn their money.

I'll say this again. The lack of pre-draft trades this year has been remarkable.

I love to pile on the Fins as much as anyone, but that story is hot-take clickbait. The only facts presented are Ramsay's trade request, a few FA departures, and Tua's radio silence. But players leave in FA from every team including the Chiefs and Eagles and players have no media obligation between the end of the season and mini camp. The only thing out of the ordinary is Jalen Ramsay's trade demands, and that speaks more to Ramsay's team-hopping tendencies than anything about the Dolphins. Perhaps Mike McDaniel has lost that locker room, but Omar Kelly presents no information that could confirm or deny that.
