Could be worse. Some boards, like the 49ers and Ravens, have single threads for each player that span back to their draft pick. Imagine a 30,000 page thread on Josh Allen being the only place you can talk about that player. That's what the Ravens board has for Lamar Jackson. Here, I don't think anyone wants to remember their draft night hot takes on Josh.

Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
Low Positive replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that is very true. By the time they figured out that they were in a dogfight they were down 13-0. They couldn't adjust their gameplan on the fly until halftime and by then it was too late. They seemed shocked by the energy the Fins brought to the game. Also, the coaches seemed to be working on things or putting things on film rather than playing a regular season game. That fake tush push felt like a play they would try in a meaningless game. They also seemed to be trying to force the ball to Coleman. It felt like one team was playing for pride and their coach's job while the other was playing a preseason game. If they miss the playoffs because of this game, it serves them right for taking a divisional opponent lightly. You can't save it for the playoffs if you don't make the playoffs. -
If the mods didn't clean up the board, the list of threads would look something like this: McDermott sucks and he should be fired McDermott should be fired and he sucks McDermott, fired he should be and sucks he does Keon Coleman is lazy and should be benched Keon should be benched and he's lazy Coleman? He's lazy and should be cut. And he's slow too. Brian Daboll for president!

Who do we want, who do we need as our next HC and, or GM?

1) All these guys have giant egos that clash. They would be in a different business if they didn't. 2) Pegula has already cleaned house with the Sabres multiple times. Each time, they have to start a new rebuild from scratch. And in hockey where teams draft literal children, that takes years. Now that they need to do it again, he's loath to pull the trigger. But he has to do it. -

Collinsworth for GM. He's good at scouting young talent. -

First of all, I don't think he would take the job. Those TV gigs are cushy and probably pay a lot more than an OC job. Secondly, if you want to take someone from the booth who could call a game you should take Romo. Before CBS neutered him, he was calling both the offensive and defensive plays based on pre-snap looks. -

As a related point, I wish Prater could learn to kick a squib that hits in the landing zone like the Miami kicker was doing to us all game. It's the only way to pin a team inside the 30 on kickoffs. -

It took a bunch of days for MVS to appear on the Steelers PS on their online roster. I think it updates once a week. -

I'm an IU grad and I'm against this. There is no quick fix like the transfer portal in the NFL. Cig is winning in Bloomington because they have bought two teams in the transfer portal with NIL money. Go Hoosiers! -

He would still be a first-time play caller. He didn't call the plays when he was OC in Chicago; Trestman did. -
I got another fun one for us to revisit. Here is a fire Dabes thread from after the Jags game

But I still don't know who takes over. Last time, there were two good options in Brady and Mike Shula. This time, there is nobody with OC or playcalling experience at the NFL level on the staff. -

Let's play that one out. Who gets the interim internal promotion for the remainder of this season? Because you cannot install a new offense between Monday and the game in Houston on Thursday night. -

Ryan Day, but we'd probably lose to the Lions every time we played them. They keep putting the Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman in the lists for the Giants opening, so that might be an option. But he makes a ton at ND. -

Bruce Coslet is still alive at the ripe young age of 79. Why not him? Bruce Ariens is only 73. -

From all accounts, Whaley was the driver behind that one. And then he got fired by the guy he got hired. -

I have no ideas about GMs except for someone from Philly or KC. As for HC, I like Klint Kubiac. He's getting a lot out of not too much in Seattle. But Pegula will probably hire Gruden. Remember, the only NFL coach that Terry hired on his own was Rex. -
Yes. In my mind, a punt is a turnover, too. But other people have a good point too. i could post the next play after that one, when a free runner comes at Josh on a stunt and he has to heave it to a covered Keon Coleman down the sideline. Nobody came open and the play was busted from the start. There was another play, just before Cooks' fumble, when Josh threw an incredible ball to a covered Kincaid. He had to do that because NOBODY WAS OPEN!
-
Joe Marino broke down that same play and came to the same conclusion that I did. I think he's so worried about DBs jumping routes and getting picks that he's "seeing ghosts." I think the solution is that they need to just let him play. But there is also a lot of footage from this game that demonstrates WRs not getting open either due to a lack of speed or poor scheme. It does cut both ways, and everyone was bad on Sunday.
-
I know those numbers, but take a look at this play. It's 2-10. He has open guys at multiple time during the play, and he throws the ball away. He even starts to throw to Keon early in the play, but decides to bail on the pocket instead. Then he doesn't pull the trigger to Shakir, who would have had at least 6 yards there. We were already losing 13-0 at this point and we needed to make a play. I don't know what is going on, but this is a frustrating watch.
-
I don't know what's going on, but he seems very gunshy right now. Joe Marino broke down this play from the EZ view, but here is the sideline. Look at how many times he could have hit either Keon or Shakir on this play, but Josh throws the ball away. This could have been 3-4 or better, but instead it was 3-10. He also bailed on a pretty clean pocket.

He just doesn't want to take the hits anymore, even for millions of dollars. I totally get that. -

You guys are all talking like Troy Franklin has been lighting up the league. He was considered a giant bust last year, when he only had 263 yards in 16 games. His success rate on targets was 35.8%. He's been better this year, but he has yet to have a 100-yard receiving game. He's getting a lot of targets the past few weeks as teams have doubled Sutton, but he still had 4 catches for 27 yards in Houston two weeks ago. I know there have been some highlights that you have seen, but overall, he's a JAG. In fact, Keon Coleman has more yards per target and a better catch percentage. This year! https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/AqwZp
