They have almost no scouts.
-
It's a copycat league, so if the Bengals win I think that smart teams should fire their GM, almost all their scouts and tear down their practice facility. I mean, why have scouts when an ESPN+ subscription gets you access to Mel Kiper's big board?

Kyler Murray unfollows Cardinals on social media
Low Positive replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Murray never faced adversity in his football career before getting drafted. Just like Josh had to learn how to win on the big stage, players have to learn how to lose and grow from it. Kind of like how Urban Meyer didn't know how to develop a team while losing in Jacksonville. -
Colts to either trade or cut Carson Wentz
Low Positive replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't want Carson Wentz anywhere near the Bills. You can have some players with less than good attitudes, but your backup QB cannot be one of them. -

Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams
Low Positive replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I live in Cincinnati, so I've been thinking a lot about how they got this far so fast. I think the fact that Burrow didn't need to learn to win really accelerated their rebuild. He won a lot in High School (HS football is a big deal in Ohio) and we won a national championship in college. The CFP games are as big a stage as any NFL playoff game. The stage felt to big for Josh in that first PO game and yet again in the AFCCG last year. The Bengals just had to give him a year to adjust to the higher game speed and he was ready to roll. It also helps that they absolutely nailed the last two drafts. In addition, all their free agent spending on defense this past offseason worked. All that being said, they are really just on a run right now. Remember, they got absolutely destroyed at home by the Browns 41-16 on 11/7 going into their bye week. Local radio callers wanted Zac Taylor's head on a platter. Now they think that they're the next Patriots. -

I went to Frisch's Big Boy this morning and ate Goetta. I don't think it get any more Cincinnati than that. I'll probably drink red wine, but I'm not sure that it is from California. But I did buy it in Trader Joe's, and that was founded in CA. -
Bills Hire Kyle Shurmur, Son of Pat Shurmur

A QB spends a lot of time studying what defenses do, so it makes a lot of sense to me.- 78 replies

Unless Tampa releases him, he can only play there.

Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams
Low Positive replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I know that we want controllable outcomes, but both the Bengals and the Rams got a lot of good fortune to win games. If Carr could find an open man in the EZ at the end of the WC game, the Bengals playoff drought continues. The game deciding interception in the Bengals game against the Titans was broken up by Eli Apple, but it popped straight into Logan Wilson’s arms. 9 times out of 10 that ball falls to the turf. And if Tartt catches the easy one at the end of the NFCCG, the 49ers and playing on Sunday. Also, what the heck happened to the Chiefs in the second half of the AFCCG? -
Texans expected to hire Lovie Smith for HC
Low Positive replied to Gambit's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just a little over 2 years ago, the Texans had a 24-0 lead in KC in the second quarter of a divisional round game. It's really couldn't have gone much worse for them since that point. -
The Bengals did that too. They drafted skill position players and signed FA for defense. They also only have 6 total scouts, so they probably just asked Joe Burrow who he wanted the day before the draft.

Texans expected to hire Lovie Smith for HC
Low Positive replied to Gambit's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Texans are such a tire fire that they had to pick from an internal hire and a backup QB with literally no coaching experience at any level. -

Super Bowl LVI: Bengals at Rams
Low Positive replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Bengals lose, Mike Brown’s refusal to build a indoor practice facility or even a bubble will play no small part in it. It poured yesterday and now we’re in an ice storm with snow to follow. The Cincinnati Bengals can’t effectively practice on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the week before the Super Bowl. -
What CincyBillsFan says about Mike Brown not firing coaches is very true. How else do you explain how much futility they endured before firing Marvin Lewis? But there is another thing. The Brown family has very little money, relatively speaking. For example, they have no facilities that the team owns of any kind. The county owns the stadium and there is no training complex. They practice in the stadium and the weight room is in the basement. They don’t even have a practice bubble, something even D3 college teams have. They also don’t pay a premium for assistants. They have the smallest scouting staff in the NFL. For many years, they had no college scouts at all. The only reason that they are winning now is that their core players are all on rookie contracts. Everyone talks about their cap space. They always have cap space and they never spend it. They won’t pay Tee Higgins. They might not pay Mixon. It’s not that he cheap, it’s that the team is his only asset of any value.

Sorry, I was wrong.

Zac Taylor was the Rams QB coach was hired as Bengals HC. He was never a coordinator at any level.

Tompa Bay?

There is also a chance that Dorsey has his own network from which he could pull a QB and OL coach.

Dorsey ran a lot of 12 personnel packages
Low Positive replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
As the OP noted, that roster was f-ing loaded at RB and TE. If you had Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, Clinton Portis, Najeh Davenport, Jeremy Shockey, and Kellen Winslow Jr. on a single college roster, you'd run 12 personnel too.- 72 replies

Yolonlist is correct, but the Panthers need an OC too.
