OBJ got multiple huge FA contracts, all based on one catch. -

Game week thread - Pats at Bills SNF

You gotta see it from a content creation standpoint. This week's schedule is a pretty lopsided slate of games. Analysts are under pressure to not just pick all chalk. So they pick one where they can make a case for the upset. Who else are they gonna pick? Well, SI all picked the Bills for whatever thats worth. -

Liars! He sucks. I read it right here. -
This place is a bunch of old men making sports bra jokes about a piece of technology they don't understand. With that thing, they can tell how fast his first three steps are and track change over time. They can track how explosive he is moving laterally. The team can know, with data, when bringing him back from injury won't be a liability. Why wouldn't you use that?

He also made Bill O'Brien and Charlie Weis a lot of money. Brian Daboll has both Brady and Josh Allen to thank for his 401K. -
In addition to heart rate monitors, those things have a GPS tracker too. A lot of athletes wear them under their uniform. How else do you think they know how fast a guy ran during a play or how many miles a soccer player ran during a game? https://shop.statsports.com/products/apex-athlete-series

Game week thread - Pats at Bills SNF

I bit the bullet on Tuesday and watched every long run the Saints had. The common denominator was the DTs getting pushed wide. Then once the RB or QB got to the second level, there was a missed solo tackle. -
But it made no sense. The only similarity between McDermott's defenses in Carolina and Frazier's defense is that they were both 4-3. McDermott had an attacking 4-3 in Carolina. He comes from the Jim Johnson/Eagles coaching tree, along with Spags. Frazier is a Tampa/Cover 2 zone guy who comes out of the Tony Dungy coaching tree. The "soft zone" that everyone here hates actually went out the door with Frazier. But that narrative was formed, and people think every defensive failure is due to it.

There seems to be a pattern here McDremott/Babich/Bills Mafia/Everyone gets mad after a subpar defensive performance They hold a hard practice to kick their butts into gear. Dudes get hurt in hard practice. -

There is nothing they can do in week 5 about that except keep winning. -
I'm not arguing that the Bills defense looked good. They didn't. But they did about the same against the Saints as the 49ers defense did in week 2, and most consider them to be a good, well-coached unit. In other words, the Saints were the Saints against the Bills. I think only the Chiefs and maybe the Lions have been playing stellar defense this year. The Packers defense, which was considered elite just a week and a half ago, gave up 40 to the Cowboys, who were playing without CeeDee Lamb. If the Bills defense gives up major yards and/or points to the Pats offense on Sunday, I'll be right there with you in front of OBD with a flaming pitchfork. But if we lose, I expect us to be calling for the Special Teams Coordinator's head. The Pats have two wins this year. Neither of them happens without an absurd amount of kick and punt return yards. Well, they would have beaten the Panthers anyway, but it wouldn't have been the laugher that it was without 14 first-half points off of punt returns.
