  1. I'm sure the cap hit went down for the next two years and then they plan to extend him again.
  2. I don't blame him at all. The Browns are stupid for paying a DL when they don't have a QB. You simply cannot win without a QB.
  3. It is if the Browns made it very clear that they were not trading him under any circumstances and he would have had to sit out an entire year. That makes a player make a financial decision really quickly.
  4. DK Metcalf will now turn into a crazy Diva WR. It's in the water in Pittsburgh. I'm surprised that Tyreek was able to complete that process without a stop there.
  5. Maybe the solution to get some WRs for the Bills is getting the Saudis to invest.
  6. JJ Watt went on some TV show or podcast and remarked on how stupid Mike Brown was to not extend Chase early. When you have an elite guy, the price only goes up the longer you wait. He should have been extended two years ago. But Mike Brown only does one big contract a year. It's all the cash that he has. Two years ago, they did Burrow. Then, they tried to do Chase last year but wouldn't budge off 25M. Ja'marr wanted to get more than Jefferson. You can understand him because Ja'marr Chase is the best WR in the NFL. Then they made him a promise to make him the "highest paid non-QB" but then the Stains (what Bengals fans call the Browns) went and paid Garrett all that cash. Now they got Higgins and Chase unsigned, an antsy Burrow, and an angry Trey Hendrickson. And that's after losing DJ Reader and Jesse Bates. The Bengals were a play away from winning a Super Bowl in 2021. Now, that core is either gone, unsigned, or angry. You can complain about Beane, but the Bengals have managed a Super Bowl window about as badly as a team could.
  7. Rodgers could have been announced today because he was cut. I actually think that one selling point for DK would be reuniting with Russ. His best year came with him at QB. He was excellent at catching that Russ moonball.
  8. NFL free agents (I iknow it was a trade, but the contract is a FA contract) rarely live up to their contracts. If the player was worth 30M, the drafting team would have paid it.
  9. Mike Brown being cheap is going to cost him a lot of money, either in player salaries or reduced ticket sales.
  10. I love that there are two DLs in the NFL with the last name Sweat.
  11. New WRs are fun. I get it. It's like Christmas day when your team gets one. In fact, WRs are the most fun players in the NFL. Even more fun than QBs. I want a new one too. I live in Cincinnati, so I know how great Ja'marr Chase is and how fun that would be to have on my favorite team. I think everyone in Cincinnati has at least one Chase #1 jersey. I wanted DK too. I can rationalize why he didn't do it, but I think Beane made a mistake here. But it didn't happen. So, onward and upward. There is nothing that I can do about it but hope that they have a plan. They know that what they rolled into last season with wasn't enough. Otherwise they wouldn't have spent a third on Cooper. So, they know they need more and I expect them to get it. Because contrary to popular belief on TBD, Brandon Beane is neither developmentally delayed nor an evil genius working to make your life miserable. He wants to win. Out owner is spending the money to win and we currently have the cap space to get some dudes. Lets see what he does. In-season trades are always bad value. That's why I hate them.
  12. Coleman was trending in the right direction until he got his "welcome to the NFL" moment from Poyer. Hope he can recover from that and continue to develop.
  13. Another thing. The Steelers 2nd is #52. Our earliest 2nd is #56. All else being equal, the Seahawks would take their offer over ours unless we threw in more.
  14. Why would he be available? He was Bo Nix's primary target and the Broncos are a playoff team looking to take another step.
  15. Bad FA classes lead to massive overpays.
  16. Mid is OK. We're not trying to get a #1. Just a guy that fills a role that we can't fill with the guys on the roster right now.
  17. Slayton solves our downfield threat issues pretty nicely and won't cost much.
  18. Of course it's not the trade compensation. He didn't want to pay him 33 million a year. That's Justin Jefferson money, and DK is good but not that good. But I wanted him too so I get why you're upset.
  19. Steelers refuse to rebuild. They are very intent on making the playoffs each and every season. They also have no QB contract, so they continue to try to spend at WR. Remember last off-season when they almost had Brandon Aiyuk? I'll have to see the trade, but I'm sure they overpaid.
  20. They're just going to sign a volume of players while the Bills will do comparatively little. People usually react to division opponents doing that with extreme anger. I mean, people on this board lost their minds when the Fins signed OBJ last offseason.
  21. This place is going to flip out once the Pats start signing players.
  22. Funny that the Rams made a huge deal out of getting younger and then they turn around and resign Stafford and get 32 yo Davante Adams to replace 31 yo Cooper Kupp.
  23. I know that most people in WNY don't like the NBA, but NFL free agency is starting to become almost as bad as NBA free agency. Guys are demanding trades to certain destinations and free agents will only sign with warm weather teams in big markets with good strip clubs. NFL players have just now figured out that they have the power, not the owners.
  24. We won't play them next year unless it's in the Super Bowl.
