  1. Would the league have to create an online Trade Request Form? Would Google Forms suffice or would they be forced to spring for a Formstack subscription?
  2. I don’t trust Spotrac on cap space. They deal in absolutes. Cap space is not your checkbook or bank account. It’s more like a wealthy person’s tax return after it was completed by a shady accountant.
  3. Von went from the biggest FA signing in team history to his release being pinned at TBD for less than 48 hours.
  4. Not being able to be in on Darnold and Rodgers really limits the pool.
  5. I love how Rapaport editorialises at the end of his tweets like he’s an analyst. My point was more about fan psychology. From a football standpoint, giving other teams busts a low-level contract and a camp invite is good practice.
  6. The Bills front office is the same group that found Bernard in the 3rd, Shakir in the 5th and Benford in the 6th. Fans see the hits by other teams and fixate on the misses by their own team.
  7. The Payton Turner situation is why fans have a much more negative estimation of their favorite team’s drafting in relation to other teams. When other teams have an Elam-level bust, we just forget they exist while your own team’s bust festers like a wound.
  8. Good young players are resigning with their drafting teams more and more. I think it’s a combination of the rapidly rising cap and the extra playoff spot. Free agency is becoming overpaying for older players.
  9. Because some guys here wanted him in the draft and now he was available again.
  10. I'm sure the cap hit went down for the next two years and then they plan to extend him again.
  11. I don't blame him at all. The Browns are stupid for paying a DL when they don't have a QB. You simply cannot win without a QB.
  12. It is if the Browns made it very clear that they were not trading him under any circumstances and he would have had to sit out an entire year. That makes a player make a financial decision really quickly.
  13. DK Metcalf will now turn into a crazy Diva WR. It's in the water in Pittsburgh. I'm surprised that Tyreek was able to complete that process without a stop there.
  14. Maybe the solution to get some WRs for the Bills is getting the Saudis to invest.
  15. JJ Watt went on some TV show or podcast and remarked on how stupid Mike Brown was to not extend Chase early. When you have an elite guy, the price only goes up the longer you wait. He should have been extended two years ago. But Mike Brown only does one big contract a year. It's all the cash that he has. Two years ago, they did Burrow. Then, they tried to do Chase last year but wouldn't budge off 25M. Ja'marr wanted to get more than Jefferson. You can understand him because Ja'marr Chase is the best WR in the NFL. Then they made him a promise to make him the "highest paid non-QB" but then the Stains (what Bengals fans call the Browns) went and paid Garrett all that cash. Now they got Higgins and Chase unsigned, an antsy Burrow, and an angry Trey Hendrickson. And that's after losing DJ Reader and Jesse Bates. The Bengals were a play away from winning a Super Bowl in 2021. Now, that core is either gone, unsigned, or angry. You can complain about Beane, but the Bengals have managed a Super Bowl window about as badly as a team could.
  16. Rodgers could have been announced today because he was cut. I actually think that one selling point for DK would be reuniting with Russ. His best year came with him at QB. He was excellent at catching that Russ moonball.
  17. NFL free agents (I iknow it was a trade, but the contract is a FA contract) rarely live up to their contracts. If the player was worth 30M, the drafting team would have paid it.
  18. Mike Brown being cheap is going to cost him a lot of money, either in player salaries or reduced ticket sales.
  19. I love that there are two DLs in the NFL with the last name Sweat.
  20. New WRs are fun. I get it. It's like Christmas day when your team gets one. In fact, WRs are the most fun players in the NFL. Even more fun than QBs. I want a new one too. I live in Cincinnati, so I know how great Ja'marr Chase is and how fun that would be to have on my favorite team. I think everyone in Cincinnati has at least one Chase #1 jersey. I wanted DK too. I can rationalize why he didn't do it, but I think Beane made a mistake here. But it didn't happen. So, onward and upward. There is nothing that I can do about it but hope that they have a plan. They know that what they rolled into last season with wasn't enough. Otherwise they wouldn't have spent a third on Cooper. So, they know they need more and I expect them to get it. Because contrary to popular belief on TBD, Brandon Beane is neither developmentally delayed nor an evil genius working to make your life miserable. He wants to win. Out owner is spending the money to win and we currently have the cap space to get some dudes. Lets see what he does. In-season trades are always bad value. That's why I hate them.
  21. Coleman was trending in the right direction until he got his "welcome to the NFL" moment from Poyer. Hope he can recover from that and continue to develop.
  22. Another thing. The Steelers 2nd is #52. Our earliest 2nd is #56. All else being equal, the Seahawks would take their offer over ours unless we threw in more.
  23. Why would he be available? He was Bo Nix's primary target and the Broncos are a playoff team looking to take another step.
  24. Bad FA classes lead to massive overpays.
