  1. I don't know dude, those top three are each going to cost more than that. We could push the money into other years but I don't know if thats the best thing to do. May only get Gilmore and Taylor signed.
  2. Sell the email list to a spammer. And don't do anything illegal in the front yard.
  3. Meh. Just Rex making some room on the roster.
  4. Thank you Terry and Kim. Looking forward to more cases like this working out for us.
  5. Fitz is a starting caliber qb who cannot be relied upon to win a game in crunch time. There is value to that, but not top end value because you need to pay other players to win the game for you. At this point in his career I can't believe he and the Jets are not able to find common ground for a contract.
  6. If I'm Andrew Luck I don't sign a contract unless Grigson is gone. A career is a terrible thing to waste.
  7. Suprised Fitz wouldn't stay with gailey, they must have really low balled him.
  8. Just a question - since the Pats* don't have a first round pick this year, would they even be allowed to sign Glenn?
  9. Is that Andrew Luck's little brother?
  10. Probably not sending Roman a christmas card, ever.
  11. If Whaley is channeling his inner steelers I doubt this gets done because he will not want to commit the years or money to RI that someone will on the open market. I'm okay with that, because OBD valuations of their players has been solid recently. Just need to do some more work in the personnel department with those 2nd/3rd tier guards and get someone they feel will develop into a starter and let the coaching make it work.
  12. So even though Woods played the position well in 2014, we still felt we needed Harvin in 2015 and were willing to pay him 6 mill given the risk. Don't know if this is an endorsement of Woods or not.
  13. Absolutely wrong. Players have ten years to start going back to school without losing credits they earned. There is also absolutely nothing preventing them from continuing their education while in the nfl. The mere act of "staying in school" means nothing to how well they do after college, the last time I looked they don't give you a job because you graduated. The desire and forethought to plan for life after football is way more complicated than "I have a degree so I'll be ok".
  14. Wonder if Mario lands there
  15. I feel bad he went back to ohio state, I thought he would have been a better quarterback at this point if he would have gotten professional coaching. Although I have to think Roman may like what he sees in him. It will be interesting to see where he goes after the teams get finished evaluating him, but our scouts and coaching staff may have him ranked higher than most.
  16. I thought Miller was much better against the run than Spence. Pass rush, sure.
  17. When we first got a unix machine in house, one of our admins actually did that while following the man page. I still remind him of that many years later.

  19. Maybe to a small extent, but I don't see it in my pittsburgh town yet. There are a couple kids that don't play football anymore but the top kids (who could possibly have a chance at the nfl) seem to remain with football. I have 11 and 13 year old boys that play soccer, so I see kids moving around and it's a small community so the kids have to play multiple sports.
  20. Almost getting to the point where we might end up taking a cb pretty high, especially if they are far apart with Gilmore's next contract.
  21. I hope we can develop a way to see the damage while the person is alive instead of having the posthumous diagnosis. Until that happens, football will be in danger of losing a lot of premium athletes to other sports.
  22. I am hoping with the commitment to Whaley and the post season talk this week that we will finally be acquiring and dealing with players in a Steeleresque manner. Draft well, don't pay older players top dollar, sign your own at or a little below market and fill in role players with 2nd tier fa's. I think Whaley/OBD's valuations of our players hasn't been bad considering the guys who have gone elsewhere really haven't played up to their contracts. It may take a couple years but hopefully we will stay that course for long term success.
