I feel bad he went back to ohio state, I thought he would have been a better quarterback at this point if he would have gotten professional coaching. Although I have to think Roman may like what he sees in him. It will be interesting to see where he goes after the teams get finished evaluating him, but our scouts and coaching staff may have him ranked higher than most.

I thought Miller was much better against the run than Spence. Pass rush, sure.

Sad news for Bills LB Tony Steward

RIP. A true tragedy. -
When we first got a unix machine in house, one of our admins actually did that while following the man page. I still remind him of that many years later.

Maybe to a small extent, but I don't see it in my pittsburgh town yet. There are a couple kids that don't play football anymore but the top kids (who could possibly have a chance at the nfl) seem to remain with football. I have 11 and 13 year old boys that play soccer, so I see kids moving around and it's a small community so the kids have to play multiple sports.

Almost getting to the point where we might end up taking a cb pretty high, especially if they are far apart with Gilmore's next contract.

Cordy's Big Deal: How Much Will He Get?
4BillsintheBurgh replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am hoping with the commitment to Whaley and the post season talk this week that we will finally be acquiring and dealing with players in a Steeleresque manner. Draft well, don't pay older players top dollar, sign your own at or a little below market and fill in role players with 2nd tier fa's. I think Whaley/OBD's valuations of our players hasn't been bad considering the guys who have gone elsewhere really haven't played up to their contracts. It may take a couple years but hopefully we will stay that course for long term success. -
BOLD predictions for 2016 Bills Offseason
4BillsintheBurgh replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone else earlier in another thread threw Josh Gordon out there, he fits the the talented head case role vacated by Percy Harvin. I wouldn't be surprised by a first round safety, I think Corey Graham will be cut. -
Carucci doesn't expect any offseason changes...

I hope the Pegula's look Rex in the eye in their post season meeting and say if the Bills are top 5 (for example) in penalties you will be gone after 2016. -
Sporting News: Tyrod Is Rex's Best Bills Deal
4BillsintheBurgh replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For me, the dynamic between coach and gm is the most important factor. In watching Pittsburgh, the player drafting between the Cowher/Colbert era and the Tomlin/Colbert era has been different, with less dynamic players coming from the current combo and many more coming from the previous combo. So the tug of war over player valuation seems to be good between Rex and Whaley albeit based on a small sample size. -
OLINE FILM REVIEW-WEEK 12-TEXANS-MILLS SHINES
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't remember if it was a run or pass, but I saw Urbik put Wilfork on his back. I was just asking the Texans fan sitting in front of me how Wilfork was doing this year and he said not well. -
FILM REVIEW-WK 11- CHIEFS- HENDERSON STUGGLES
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool, thanks. I think Kujo has a lot to learn in his technique, at Alabama he seemed to grab on and control guys without needing much. He could also be having issues with the mental side of the game, from what I've seen over the years that seems to be the reason why guys who look like they can play really well at times don't see the field as often as they should. Tough for a coach to count on someone who doesn't know where they need to be. -
FILM REVIEW-WK 11- CHIEFS- HENDERSON STUGGLES
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Bocephuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for doing this, I would like to check out the all-22 one of these seasons, so I will have to live vicariously through you for now. Do you see an improvement in the line over the season so far? Seems to me Henderson is treading water or getting worse while the rest are doing well/better as they get to know Kromer/Roman. Rex is standing behind Henderson but I don't see how they won't address the position with a high draft pick as you mentioned. I think there's going to be a safety in our future in that range too. -
2) For me, the end of the half (our drive that led to the missed fg) had left too much time on the clock. Hogan went out of bounds twice and it would have been better to burn the additional time at that point in the game, don't even give them the chance to get the ball back. 3) These refs sucked, but at least they let the qb's get hit. The one shot Tyrod took getting thrown out of bounds by Mayo was borderline, as were a couple of our hits on Brady. Marsha even tried to get a call on the one shot Bradham (I think) took up on his chest. 6) Unfortunately we are in need of OT's high and later in the draft next year 10) His speed didn't seem to be there tonight, he couldn't get away as he had earlier in the season. Could be physical or mental. Seemed like the wind was a factor too, which could be attributed to his lack of game experience. He needs to drive the ball down the field and like you said release it earlier. But still less than impressive for sure. 12) Would have been nicer if he gets over the first down line instead of making that little juke move for minus 1 yard and learns to draw a call when the defender has his back to the ball. He seemed to be the matchup, the little I know about Chung makes him a target in coverage every time. Robert Woods didn't seem to play well, it seems to me he is a midrange wr who doesn't catch the ball consistently. I think we can do better, put that on the list of draft needs too. Overall I thought we didn't collapse when given the chance, controlled the personal fouls and undisciplined play a little but not enough and still had a chance at the end despite turnovers and penalties. Seems like the bye week did the defense some good so I'm hoping they continue to improve down the stretch. With steady improvement on d and a healthy Tyrod we should be in the fight for the last wildcard spot. Would be nice to get the #5 spot in order to play the afc south div champ, but it's a longer shot now.

Sanborn No Longer Elite Snapper
4BillsintheBurgh replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got the feeling Schmidt was watching the clock instead of the ball because he didn't react to the snap until it was halfway to him. -
The currently running commercial for the buffalo style chicken fingers has two dudes eating wings/fingers and a football game can be heard in the background. Sounds like Van Miller to me, anyone happen to know if it is and the game? I'm assuming the comeback against the oilers, but not sure.

Defending the Ace Formation
4BillsintheBurgh replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think i'm bringing c Bryant in for darby. That gives me gilmore graham AW, lawson, Bradham in coverage and enough beef to play the run. Play the dends on the inside te and make sure they crash through gronk and chandler to try and get them jammed up at the line. -
Two of my favorite plays by TT today
4BillsintheBurgh replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+1 That was a professional throw. -
As far as Watkins, I think they were just staying away from Vontae Davis, he followed Sammie everywhere. Even on the long throw, Watkins had some space when he turned up field and Davis closed it. Maybe Sammy's hip played into the play calling directly or from a lack of practice time they just decided to not to chance it since otherwise they were playing well. Bill Cowher and the Steelers would put in second halves like that one when they were ahead. Sometimes it bit them but most of the time they just closed the game out. We need to run those plays with Williams though and I think it will be interesting to see if we have the stones to sit McCoy. And we need to stop taking penalties too. I thought after the muffed punt we should have gone for the jugular. Don't even bother with running it. After a mistake like that you have to be super aggressive. You could really strike a mental blow there and I didn't like the play calling/results. Overall I think the plan was to keep the clock moving on offense. Since we were successful with the scripted plays we kept to that plan. I got the feeling there was a little "we should be able to do this" type of play calling in the second half and Roman used it as an extended preseason. Since there were some blocking breakdowns maybe Roman took the opportunity to put some guys (Henderson) in an uncomfortable position instead of trying to help them by running away from them. The one screen pass in the fourth was on the right and I think it was Henderson who missed a block that lead to a short gain instead of a longer one. You could have run that play to the other side if Henderson was having a bad day which GunnerBill pointed out in another thread he was.
