  1. Preseason is over and the roster is set. The coaching staff has had an entire off-season to evaluate, plan and implement changes for this upcoming season. The front office has dropped some new talent into Jauron's lap. The young players on the team have gained more experience from last year. While this is always an optimistic and anticipation-filled time of year, I for one are looking for results from this team and coaching staff. Tangible results in terms of wins and losses that would support that the team is moving in the right direction. No more hope or hype, just results on the field in real games. Here is what I intend to look for from this team and staff in the early weeks of the season: 1. Since Jauron has been the coach, this team has not looked ready to play in week one. Even in a loss, they need to look competitive, energized and disciplined on opening day. 2. Edwards needs to show he deserves the starting spot. 3. The healthy and more experienced defense needs to make a big move from bottom of the league to at least in the upper half. 4. Turk needs to show that he was a the single best choice for the OC job. This means more points from the offense and evidence that they can put away bad teams or win some games from behind. 5. Jauron needs to make good in-game decisions in terms of clock management and critical plays where the head coach typically has input into offensive and defensive play selection. Good use of last 2 minutes in each half. A little emotion and "calling a spade a spade" publically wouldn't hurt either. Show us some damned determination coach. 6. Special teams need to continue a high level of play. Anything less than 3-2 going into the bye week will make the playoffs an uphill battle. It's "show time".
  2. When you're coming off of 1-15 and you hire Parcells to run the show, you better damn well be on the rise.
  3. This has probably been suggested before, but if not, it's time you and Kelly got a room.
  4. I think it's way to early to throw in the towel on Beck. Look at the team and coaching they had last year. He's a very young guy who might do quite well in due time.
  5. I'll second that and add Mr. Parker to that list. Unfortunate that Edwards got hurt. More playing time he needs. Bills look to have much better depth this year at most positions. Starting lineup has more experience at most spots, so Jaron an Co. have more to work with. Bills need a good start to the season (3-2 or better in first 5) IMO if they want to sniff the playoffs.
  6. That would make more sense. According to Willis, McKinnie puts the "P" in party.
  7. Jauron better get the skirt off and get this team ready for week one. The Bills have looked bad in each of the last 2 openers. I for one am looking very closely at that.
  8. State your credentials that makes you an expert.
  9. I think it's very important for the Bills and the entire NFL that the front office stay very firm with Peters. Don't give in. Players holding out and then getting what they want sets a very bad precedent for the league. Only way to eliminate holdouts is to not give in to them. Stay the course, Bills. Let the man sit for as long as he wants.
  10. Ah yes. A playoff birth is good progress and I don't think it matters how it happens. You're competing against the rest of the conference fore those spots. If you get one, you've earned it.
  11. Yup. Peters has too much to lose by staying out and missing game checks. Hard to imagine him being ready to play in a week or two.
  12. Or in who starts at QB.
  13. He has a magic lamp. He won't get hurt.
  14. You're doggone right. The smartest thing I ever heard Jauron say last year was "give me a tall strong receiver like Moss that's open when he's really not open".
  15. Hamden starts at QB. Good move by Jauron. Gotta keep JP healthy in case he's needed next week and he keeps the QB controversy to a dull roar.
  16. Who said anything about JP starting or wishing Edwards gets hurt? I simply pointed out that the debate will continue until Trent shows he's the better guy and we've all seen JP play well before. He's played well in pre-season also. If you believe that Turk has a better game plan and that the addition of Hardy and more experience for other young offensive players (including the QBs) will make a difference, then both QBs should play better as well. To me that means we should expect both QBs to be more productive including Trent.
  17. You won't have to if Trent stays healthy and plays at a level where he deserves to be the starter. If he falls short in either area, expect the JP crusade to continue and don't be surprised if JP does well when he's in there. He can play in this league.
  18. Law of nature which can applied to fans: For every expert opinion there is an equal and opposite exper opinion.
  19. With Edwards throwing to him, he never gets to elite.
  20. Great, so then the Bills go back to having 1 receiving threat. They not only need to keep Evans, but they also need hardy or someone else to emerge as a real threat opposite him.
  21. Yes, they've given some players a raise when warranted. I have yet to see the Bills in recent years do this for any player/agent who has said "we aren't gonna play unless you give us a new deal". Mighty big difference. Maybe if Barack Obama gets elected he'll give Peters hope and free medical insurance.
  22. Just keep Eugene Parker away from him.
  23. Trent needs work. He's had very little game time in pre-season. If he can't go tomorrow, he's entering week one with a long layoff game-wise.
  24. From the look at your avatar, you might like a hairy man sandwich also.
