No. I don't think a game from two years ago has set the stage for Mayfield potentially becoming "Josh's daddy." A game where Mayfield threw for 238 yards while Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt averaged 6 YPC. Mayfield is nobody's daddy. Annoying uncle maybe. -

We've got some really slanted homer posts by Bills fans, but this takes the homer trophy! Mayfield is a good QB at times and will win some games. Allen is an elite QB that put it all together last season. He is a physical freak of nature and now his decision making, understanding of the game, and mechanics have all caught up to his arm talent. -

I saw Steve 'n' Seagulls live in Ithaca a few years ago. They were awesome. Definitely not your normal concert.

The recent Tom Wilson cheap shot and the Rangers response, brought back memories of the Sabres vs Senators brawl after scumbag Chris Neil took out Chris Drury with an extremely dirty hit. This was back when Sabre hockey was so much fun to watch. I remember watching this game live and going crazy. This video discusses the incident with the players that lived it and is a really well done piece. If you need a little adrenaline rush, I highly recommend checking it out! *Marty Biron will always be one of my all time favorite players and the fact that he took on the best fighter to ever play goalie, Ray Emery, exemplified his heart and team spirit!

I picture a different mobster scene when I think of the jets (and their fans) and Bills. The one in A Bronx Tale where the crude, overconfident, hygienically challenged biker gang (jets and their fans) try to take over the bar. Sonny (McDermott) politely asks them to be gentleman. When they inevitably act like the mouth breathing idiots that they are…Now youse can’t leave… -

That was not your original point though. If you are trying to predict injuries and how the refs will call a game, you are talking about something completely different than having a one dimensional passing offense. (The refs didn't call the superbowl the same way that they called the AFC championship game when it came to PI, so I don't think you can attribute that to January football.) The Bucs had the 5th fewest rushing yards in 2020. They had the 4th most passing yards. One of the most one dimensional teams in the league won the superbowl. This is a passing league now and in the vast majority of cases, you need a dominant QB and passing game to win a championship. I would love to see the Bills improve their running game, but I think it is overvalued by many fans. -

Of the 4 conference championship contenders, the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th leading passers were playing. In the Super Bowl, the 2nd and 3rd leading passers were playing. Being able to pass the ball at a high level is much more important than being able to run it. At any time in the season. The ravens and browns were both top 3 in rushing yards and “built for January football” got beat in the playoffs by passing teams. -

If you think 2018 is a wash in regard to supporting cast, you clearly don't understand how bad Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones were. Bills fans would have killed for a "hit or miss" WR! As much as I hate to compliment Landry, he is better than all of the Bills supporting cast from 2018 combined. Clay was a shell of his former mediocre self. Allen had a horrible O line, WRs, TEs, and an aging RB that had lost a step or two. 2019 Mayfield did have better weapons, but the Bills coaching and stability was starting to make up for the disparity in talent. By 2020 we finally got to see Allen with a very good team around him and he had an MVP worthy season. -

Coaching and coordinators have been an advantage for Allen, but Allen had much less to work with as far as WRs, RBs, and TEs in 2018 and to a lesser extent in 2019. Allen had possibly the worst receiving core in the NFL in 2018. Mayfield's offensive weapons in 2018 : Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, David Njoku, Antonio Callaway Allen's offensive weapons in 2018 : Kelvin Benjamin, Zay Jones, 30 year old LeSean McCoy, Charles Clay Mayfield 2019 : OBJ, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, David Njoku Allen 2019 : John Brown, Cole Beasley, Dawson Knox, Devin Singletary -

You forgot the following rule... - Anyone that is challenged on a negative Bills post must act like they are unfairly persecuted and that they are the only knowledgeable, objective voice on the forum. *Extra points if you can be condescending about it. -

I’ve read the thread. You are acting a little over dramatic with your responses. People feel that Allen makes up for a slight disadvantage in other areas of the roster. It’s as simple as that. Do you feel that the Browns have a vastly superior roster? -

Who is saying “the Browns can NEVER be better than the Bills because they have Josh Allen?” It’s not like the Bills have a QB and the jets 2020 roster! With comparable rosters, the Bills will be better than the Browns because of Josh Allen. I don’t think anyone can argue that the Browns roster and depth are that much better than the Bills’ roster, even if you do feel that they have superior talent. -

11 wins isn’t going to get them to #2 in the AFC as you are stating. The Browns have a good looking roster. I don’t agree that the “on paper” Browns are as good as the “on the field” Browns. -

I don’t think I’m underestimating Baker. He is a good QB at times. But he has never shown that he is anywhere near the QB or leader that Allen was last year. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong and the Browns will actually live up to their supposed talent level this season. -

The Browns have been “the best team on paper” for years now. Putting together a roster of names isn’t that difficult. Putting together a team of winners is. -

The Browns came in 3rd in their own division last year. (I know they were only one game behind the Steelers) I think you are underestimating the advantage of having Josh Allen at the helm vs Baker.- 460 replies

This is simply not true in any way. How can anyone with a shred of objectivity completely discount 15 sacks in a season? If all of his sacks were just a case of the QB holding the ball too long, Why didn't every average DE have 15 sacks against those same QBs? Every player accumulates some of their sacks on those types of plays. Do you think that other prospects never had the luxury of good coverage or a QB holding the ball?

One thing that really stands out to me is how he uses every inch of his length to make tackles. In a game of inches, 11 inch hands can make a difference. If he is within range, he goes all out to make the tackle. It may not be a crushing, highlight reel hit, but he gets it done effectively. He seems to know exactly how close he needs to get before selling out to make the tackle. Granted these are just highlights, but I really like what I see. Especially since none of the AFC East QBs are big, tackle breaking guys that can't be taken down with a hand tackle. (I don't include Newton because he is not a long term QB in NE)

How expensive are those orange snow fences? I've been there plenty of times. If he wants to restrict the people in his lot, there are reasonable ways to do it. I'm sure there will be idiots that try to disregard his rules, and hopefully they are kicked out or charged with trespassing. -

Would it really be that hard to put up a simple fence, provide wristbands, and tell all patrons that you will be kicked out if you are caught with anyone at your tailgate without a wristband? I don’t think most vaccinated people are going to risk getting booted for one of their anti vax friends. -
