I think Ponder is a realistic option of who could be available assuming cost to trade for him wouldn't be too high as there will be QBs available the pickings will be slim for anything other then pure journeymen. I would hv a lot more confidence with Ponder as backup and think could actually push EJ a bit or even give the team another option just in case.

I like it as well, most would still be made but less automatic.

How do you let your receiver get behind you and get the corner playing 10 yards off at the 17? It was like he was standing still

I am watching it now and EJ looks horrible. I can't believe how much trouble he and the offense have running or trying to run screen passes. EJ continues to have trouble with his accuracy.

Gilmore was better at the end of his rookie year after a terrible start so let's keep things in perspective before telling ppl they are Wrong Again. Gilmore is being targeted by opposing teams and is not doing anything to stop it. This isn't new to this preseason either as its just a continuation to what we saw last year when everyone was making excuses for him but now there is no injury so the excuse is that's its preseason. Give me a break

I was wondering how many posts it would take before someone came up with an excuse for him. When exactly did Gilmore make that living bc it certainly wasn't last year when he was terrible and everyone gave the excuse it was bc if his injury or his rookie year when everyone said well he is a rookie. How long before someone blames the changes in defense for his struggles? Gilmore just isn't very good and was another bad pick by Buddy.

I recorded it and just happen to turn TV on at end, saw Tuel fumble with 21 seconds left and turned it off and prob won't even watch it. Not that outcome matters obviously but following the game and reading twitter it just seemed like an ugly game with not much to see

They will have to redo Mario's deal regardless as I think his cap number which is high this year is even higher next year. Dareus is going to command a big contract and Kyle isn't cheap so I would not be surprised by this which is why I was surprised they didn't try to trade him this offseason. Don't get me wrong I like Hughes and think he needs to be on the field more but if he has another good year someone will end up overpaying for him.

Double their salary for what? to play in Buffalo? Buffalo will never be a high profile destination for free agents to flock to even if they get a new stadium which is why they need to draft well and sign a lot of mid to low tier free agents like they did this offseason. Most players tend to like Buffalo once they get there. There will however always be players who prefer to play in cities like Buffalo instead of NYC or Philly but at the end of the day winning and most importantly money talks.

Even more impressive is Cockrell will at best be the 5th CB this year and maybe even 6th if they keep Brooks. I still have major concerns with Gilmore though You can't put much into the Wonderlic as most of these guys prob don't take it seriously and just want to get it over with.

How is this media bias? What do you expect local sports radio to say about a week 1 opponent that was 6-10 last year and is horrible on the road? To the media outside of Buffalo what exactly did the Bills do to improve besides trade up for Sammy? They are changing defenses again which to me isn't a huge deal but to those that don't follow the team prob is. They also made some nice under the radar signings that the local media in Chicago isn't even aware of.

I think they are trying to find a roster spot for Hopkins so if they can have someone like Lee also be the LS then they wouldn't need a roster spot just for a LS and could use it on Hopkins. I will be shocked if Hopkins gets cut

When you have the first pick in the draft you take the top player on your board period and you absolutely don't draft a QB with the first pick just bc you need one. Going with Fitz at QB is an entirely other issue. This to me is O'Brien being arrogant saying he can win with just about anyone at QB.
