Not a fan of sinking big $$$$ into free agent LBs or RBs. By the time they get to their second contract they're physically beat up and only rarely have little or no tailoff in their burst. Draft 'em and invest those dollars at other positions...

I don't feel you can look at stats to judge Lotulelei's play. He's never been a stats guy. He's about plugging the middle and protecting the LBs and safeties so they can run to ball. Also, it appears Carolina changed the way they used him in year three. He went from playing the penetrating RDT to the space eater LDT, which likely changed people's perceptions of his play... Yep, he'll make the LBs look really good. To the casual fan, his 1-2 tackles a game will look small, but this is huge positive from a scheme standpoint, IMO...
