Dolphins Release C Mike Pouncey - Signed by the Chargers
Lurker replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22775721/mike-pouncey-asks-miami-dolphins-release Good: "He's a three-time Pro Bowl selection, earning the honors in three consecutive seasons from 2013-15." Bad: "Last season, Pouncey played his first 16-game season since 2012. He was coming off back-to-back seasons of major hip surgery but didn't show any effects of the injuries in 2018." Yikes!: "It was reported in the previous year that Pouncey will eventually need hip replacement surgery, so the Dolphins probably thought it was better to move on sooner rather than later." https://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/2018/03/15/report-dolphins-have-granted-mike-pouncey-his-release-request/ -

Pricey but proven...it fills a need and would let Groy be the swing OG/C they need. Current Contract Mike Pouncey signed a 5 year, $44,750,000 contract with the Miami Dolphins, including a $5,000,000 signing bonus, $22,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,950,000. In 2018, Pouncey will earn a base salary of $7,975,000 and a workout bonus of $25,000, while carrying a cap hit of $9,000,000 and a dead cap value of $2,000,000. ...I automatically think Baby Boomer. As a card-carrying member of that most-selfish generation, it always makes me chuckle when Boomers accuse anyone of being "entitled"...

Lost in QB buzz... No help at WR or TE

Groy's body of work is so small I'm not sure why he's given a pass on being plug-n-play. Seven starts in 2016 is nothing to write home about, nor is the $5 million two-year deal he signed in 2017. That's not much more than special teamer money, as evidenced by the Stanford and Bush signings yesterday. Year Age Tm Pos No. G GS AV Career 41 11 6 3 yrs BUF 37 8 5 1 yr CHI 4 3 1 2014 24 CHI lg 79 4 3 1 2015 25 BUF 72 5 0 0 2016 26 BUF c 72 16 7 4 2017 27 BUF te 72 16 1 1 Dawkins had a very good rookie year, but young OL often struggle in year two as the league catches up with film work and game planning around them. Richie is another year older and while he remains their best player on the line, likely won't be getting better from here on out. Miller/Ducasse are non-entities. Drafting their replacement should be a priority, along with upgrading the RT spot. Finding 1-2 quality reserves is also imperative, as one or more of the starting five will surely miss time to injury in 2018. It's a competent to slightly above-average line. But Beane has a lot more work to do to solidify and improve it, IMO, and I expect help to come on day two of the draft... -

Too true. Beane must be sleeping like Buddy Nix... -
INdeed....

Amazing that they'er employed. Absolute knuckleheads....
-
Apoligies if already posted. I like his vision and anticipation (better than TTs, at least in thes highlights) but his arm strength appears only so-so...

LB and O-line depth are my two biggest concerns right now... -
Bills Announce Six Transactions - 4 UFAs and 2 Trades

Yeah. But more than camp fodder get. Not sure why a guy like this gets signed now vs. right before camp unless they like him somehow... -

Surprising. That's about double the vet minimum. They must like his ST abilities... -

"Hey kid, watch what he does. And don't do THAT!" -
There are all kinds of ways to free up cap money. They should be able to fit in these kind of signings with little problem...

Don’t shoot the messenger, I just got a tip for 4:00 today.

Only think i can think of is Roquan Smith. McD want's another Kuechely.... -
Kelsay's best year was 5.5 sacks (2006). Murphy could/should be much better than that, if not used in a rotational role...

His draft profile was spot on as to how he developed: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/trent-murphy?id=2543503

He has a lot of personality too. He could be the King of Buffalo if he has success on the field...
