Bills-Rams trade and the Draft Trade Value Chart
todd replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
However, the draft only lists straight value. It doesn't consider pluses and minuses of particular drafts. For example, this draft wasn't very top heavy, and the 2nd round is said to be one of the deepest in years. So add that to the mix and that extra 2nd is great. -
ROSEN!

What are you doing for the draft tonight?
todd replied to PaattMaann's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly? Nothing. I'll probably be hitting golf balls or doing yard work or walking the dog. I'm interested in who the Bills get, but I don't really understand the fanfare around it and what makes the draft into an "event" for fans. I don't pay much attention to it, other than who Bills pick. When the Bills make their picks, that's when I become interested in players. So I probably won't be interested until next week. In my opinion, no fans (with a few notable exceptions on TSW) can really evaluate players. Most fan's opinions are based on stuff they regurgitate from reading articles on the internet, and they probably haven't seen the players they are talking about on the field for more than a few youtube clips. And that's kind of silly. Seriously, who has the time to dissect film (and actually understand what you are seeing) on 10 players, let alone 100 or 300? Not anyone with a social life and a job. But hey, I'm all for it if people enjoy it. Maybe I'm an idiot and just don't get it -- which is a distinct possibility. -
Thanks. This is her 4th Boston marathon and the first I didn't go to with her. God, I wish I was there with her, but she's safe with good friends in a hotel on the outskirts of Boston. Yes, she ran a 3:28:58. I married a fast woman.

My wife was there. Luckily she finished 30 minutes before the explosions, but heard them. I will personally remove the shriveled nutsack with a butter knife of the coward / cowards that did this. My wife is Wendy, and she's mentioned in this article on the blast: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20130415/NEWS01/304150052/Runner-Explosions-sounded-like-cannons-?odyssey=mod|breaking|text|Home

Tebow as Fullback and Special Teams Captain
todd replied to MississippiBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A few questions: 1. Why would we trade a pick for a special teams player, esp. to a division rival, and esp considering he'll be released anyway? 2. He is a really, really, really bad QB, but some not-so-bright Bills fans will still ask for him to play QB, creating a controversy of idiocy. Is that really desirable? 3. There's a guy - CMac, that already does this better than Tebow, and could come back cheaper. Why choose Tebow over a guy that does it better? 4. Just because Tebow is a really good guy, is it worth it? And an answer: 1. No, we shouldn't do it. Great guy, bad football player, distraction to a young team. -
So the guy is a master of the obvious. Long on bitching, short on real solutions. What other options did any of the teams have at this point? A trade for Tom Brady?

I wonder what Jason Peters' teammates think of him.
todd replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not quite sure where you got that I thought the moves were related from my post, but whatever. -
I wonder what Jason Peters' teammates think of him.

I think it is important to note that Buffalo was pretty smart to trade Peters and not throw $$ at Bell. Sometimes it is the moves you don't make that are important. -
Bills sign UFA DT Alan Branch to 1 year deal
todd replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3rd or 4th round comp picks are VERY rare. Levitre would need to make the pro bowl first string, and reach all his contract bonuses. Maybe it cost us a 6th or a 7th at most. -
I'm not sure I'd call failing to sign a guy who is coming off a major injury a failure. Seriously, dude, stay away from sharp objects. Actually, I bet we offered what he was worth and he didn't like it.

There should be no closet. It shouldn't be a big deal, but some people make it a big deal because they are bigoted and hateful. Unfortunately, I can see some redneck NFL fans making it a big deal. People like their stereotypes. They like to think of gay guys as wimpy, effeminate, and working as a hairstylist or interior decorator. Breaking stereotypes pisses idiots off. For example, an educated, successful, black person used to be called "uppity" because they didn't fit an idiot racist's stereotype. Same goes for football. The ultimate masculine sport doesn't allow a myopic idiot's view of of where a gay person should have a career. Hopefully we'll see that change in our lifetime, but there may be some ugliness. So having a few players being gay is "promoting a lifestyle?" Really? This has to be a joke post.

Doug Marrone botches Buffalo Bills backup QB's name
todd replied to brenty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad he doesn't know his name. It means a 3rd or 4th string QB isn't really on his radar, and he shouldn't be. -
A couple points: 1. The expensive signings last year should put the whole "Bills don't want to spend money" bullcrap to rest. Let's be rational about this, right? 2. You may notice that nobody else has signed them, either. Hmmmm. 3. At the same time, I'm frustrated that the Bills haven't done more in the early stages of FA to improve. That said, I'm not sure the money being handed out to these players is really worth it. Did you see the contract for Wallace? That is insane money for a WR who might be targeted 5 - 8 times a game.
-
What have the Bills got to lose? Would you like me to make a list? First, we'd lose cap space for a real QB who can play the position. Second, we'd lose a roster spot that could be used for a real QB.

[closed]Adrian Wilson Cut by Cards
todd replied to missthe kgun's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard of him. -
I don't think she lip synced or used autotune like most of the no talent assclowns do. To have a singer actually sing is a big deal these days. However, the musicians were fake, and she doesn't write her own songs yet tries to take credit for it.

Dick Jauron's on the Rams' wish-list
todd replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Um, he also: Hand picked Aaron Maybin Fired Schonert a week before the season started - which is a sign of horrible leadership Was never able to develop a qb "Winning in the NFL is hard" You are actually correct when it comes to that draft. As sarcastic as you try to be, jargon insisted on Maybin -
First 5 that Doug cuts from Chan era????????????
todd replied to metsandbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brad Smith is gone. In thinking about the number of plays he is in on vs. his contract, it just isn't worth it. If we're doing analytics, he's not worth it. -
David Lee to be Jets QB Coach? (now official)
todd replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't rex try to hire him last year, but he chose Buffalo? -
Maybe we can move him to Tight End.

Bills hire Doug Marrone to be Head Coach
todd replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm thinking Russ Brandon, even if in the back of his mind, thought that this hire would help sell tickets in Syracuse as part of his regionalization plan. I'm hoping that isn't true, but would be a pretty obvious thing to happen if the marketing side of his job played any influence. And that would suck if it did. -
Yes, I'll root for him. I think he is suited to be a great offensive coordinator. Head coach and OC at the same time? No. But he really had to go. He didn't adjust, and got stubbor with certain things that he shouldn't have, and also had some influence in bad personnel decisions (Ruvel martin, anyone?). Good guy, though. Straight shooter in press conferences. Owned his mistakes. I like to root for the good guys.
-
Because a marketing guy shouldn't run football operations. Decisions are made to sell tickets, not build a team. For example - Tyrell Owens.
