  1. Thanks for that. Again, I wouldn't expect anything else out of him. He leads with his play and not his mouth.
  2. What a !@#$ing waste of a thread look. Thanks for your great description; otherwise, I would have skipped.
  3. I wouldn't expect anything else out of Kyle Williams. He's pure class and willing to take the blame publicly, but I'm not sure it actually belongs there. Wanny does have some explaining to do. Even with mediocre LBs, Nix spent for the best DL around and the team has a serviceable secondary.
  4. Part of it may depend on their level of tech sophistication. My parents, who are not tech sophisticated, and worked their entire careers without computers, do very well with their iPads because Apple has iPads so locked down that it's tough to screw them up. I don't know that they would have an easy time with the freedom that comes with the Android OS. For reading, my father greatly prefers his kindle.
  5. I like his leadership, but wins are important for a quarterback, and he's not having the best of years. Much of that is due to the absence of Petrino, though.
  6. The kid has a fractured eye socket.Yeah, the fin should be applauded. Sure. I'm certain he couldn't have made his point with less force.
  7. The words "strike" and "Fehr" are equally evil, and they do send shivers down my spine. Dammit, the Expos had it in 1994.
  8. My Expos never won anything. The closest I got was 1980 US Hockey. I was eight. But I still get chills every time I see that clock count down.
  9. I dig you, but today, I'm feeling more like invoking Dick J. than the guy in the Cards jersey.
  10. Horrible playcalling in the last quarter and in OT. Hindsight, "we won," really? "The Bills escaped" would be more accurate. And I actually LIKE Gailey, but today, he was a Mauron.
  11. No kidding on Ryder. How the hell did that happen?
  12. Is this similar to the Navy Week we just had here?
  13. I'm still pissed that the Colts aren't in anymore. I want 2x/year against Miami, NYJ, and the Cheats.
  14. I agree. This is nothing like what Miami week used to be.
  15. My feelings on the topic should be obvious.
  16. The reason that regular officials' mistakes are relevant is because one of the key issues in the dispute is how to deal with poor officiating by regular refs. As the OP and topic state, it isn't just about money. The NFL is trying to improve the on-field product long-term (and let's face it, the mistakes by the regulars are more than occasional), and in the short term, we're suffering through more mistakes than usual. It's a "it'll get worse before it gets better" situation. I'm fine with it as long as it eventually gets better.
  17. The small stuff happens every week with the real ones. Steelers coin flip. Extra timeouts to teams. It happens EVERY week with the real ones. That's why the NFL is insisting--and should insist--upon replacement refs in the wings. I couldn't care less about the money stuff. Let me make this more clear: I'm ready for the refs, this weekend, to let Brady dribble the ball backwards for fifty yards and award him two free throws and a penalty shot, and give Welker an extra base on the overthrow. I get it. The replacements suck. But so do the regular refs. And if the sticking point is whether the regulars can be replaced, I'm with the league.
  18. Those four instances came to mind immediately, with no research, no google, etc. A result-changning bad call won't happen weekly, or annually, with replacement refs or with "real" ones. Did it happen last night? Sure. Does it happen almost every season? I'd bet. The "real" refs are hardly great. One of the things the league wants is to be able to substitute better refs for poorer ones. How is that bad?
  19. Back to this...can't agree more. This is the reason why I'm on the league's side on this one. And regular refs blow calls as bad as last night, too. Don Beebe went out of bounds and came back in. Tom Brady fumbled. "Just give it to 'em." Vinny Testaverde scoring a touchdown on the one-half yard line. Etc.
  20. Let 'em fly under the radar. I guarantee the cheats are focused, but if the Niners and Cardinals are looking past the Bills, fine.
  21. McLovin' got the crap beaten out of him as a gunner and--came close--didn't get a penalty called for retaliating. And he had every reason to retaliate. Good on him. He is far from my favorite player, and I'll forgive the one drop in the endzone (should've been a TB anyway), but nice game today. Nice game, 21.
  22. Yes. He didn't look great, but he was a workhorse. That said, I really hope FJ is back. Choice just isn't what his name advertises, despite a nice game today.
