  1. They don't put money into the team, failed to "take it to the next level" after almost making it to the big tournament a few years ago, don't draw fans, have a completely amateurish arena atmosphere (seriously, it's like a AA baseball game in there, with bounce houses, dinosaurs, and stuff), aren't exciting, etc. Maybe "horrible" was strong. "Interminably 'blah,'" is that better? EDIT: I may try to watch on ESPN3 tonight. I'd rather watch the Sabres-Soviets replay though. So if I'm home, vintage hockey it is. If not, basketball on the iPad.
  2. They wouldn't pour any more money into the team than they do now. There's no NBA in town, and nevertheless, UB is horrible with basketball, too.
  3. As a UB alum who was very involved while there, and who lives in Buffalo now after ten years away: No. There's not even a qualifier. Just no.
  4. Quick, the positive thing!
  5. Wow. Fantasy indeed; bordering on insanity. UB does nothing right when it comes to its major athletics programs.
  6. It's not just him. It's his lawyers, too. This smacks of collusion.
  7. Thanks. This should be thrown out summarily, if they're relying upon the TCPA.
  8. I'm not going to debate you, Jerry. I'm not going to sit here and debate.
  9. Marty was with the Browns for five or six years and left in 1988. The Ravens won the SB in what, 2000? That's not recovering from him. So the Bills would be on track for a nice SB win in 2031 or so, if they hire him next year. Great. Change does not have to involve more mistakes.
  10. Te'o is awesome, but if there's a franchise Q available, it begins and ends there. Clay Matthews didn't win the SB for the Packers. Rodgers did, you know?
  11. Are you kidding? He doesn't really have his pick of NFL jobs. For good reason. Keep him the hell away from here. If there's a Marty sighting at the airport, shut down all highways.
  12. Still doesn't mean that he's the answer. He isn't.
  13. Changes are fine, but Schottenheimer? Good Lord, no. EDIT: Anticipating the argument that he improves teams and gets them into the playoffs, even if he doesn't get to Super Bowls, think about it this way: No team that he ever has coached has recovered from his tenure.
  14. It would be at least the second. Sabrespace tried that. It got hilarious, then hurtful, and then Scott took our dislike toy away.
  15. For !@#$'s sake, its roll. It's not even being a grammar nazi; this stuff isn't hard.
  16. To the extent that the defensive problems are personnel-related rather than systemic, they are more easily addressed during free agency or trades than the quarterback position is. That said, Fitz has played well enough to win five out of seven games.
  17. I get your point, but that was Sean Payton before New Orleans, too. Still, everyone has his price.
  18. Nah, I've lived in that stuff, too. For years. I really, really like it. But again, I'm not willing to trade Buffalo for it.
  19. As dominant as Alabama has been, it really hasn't produced quarterbacks in the last four decades. I don't think McCarron is any better than Barker, who didn't merit NFL starting work. It's been one Jesse Palmer (Fla., I know) after another; the best may have been McElroy. If the Bills spend a fifth or sixth on him (after taking someone better in the first or second), I will not be upset.
  20. I would rather have hot and sweating the minute I walk outside. But I'm not willing to trade Buffalo for it.
  21. Yep. I couldn't stand my old house, but I don't show up and tell the new owners about it! Outside of the weather, I'm happy here. I wish I could get into skiing or something so I would at least like winter, too, but I just can't. Oh well; most places don't have perfect weather year-round.
  22. Seriously, who are the !@#$ expatriates who are insulting this place? They should go to a forum for whatever city they live in and talk about how terrific it is, and stay away from here. We're doing just fine, and, it seems, we're better off without them.
  23. Elected to stay? I left for a decade and then moved back. Being part of the solution is a lot more productive than sitting somewhere far away and criticizing.
