The Deep State War Heats Up

WTF was she thinking? That's not good. -
Sabres & NHL 2016-17 - Victor Antipin Signs One Year Deal
Taro T replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Pysyk played 19 games w/ Buffalo in '12-'13 & another 44 in '13-'14. In what alternative universe was he a rookie last season? Sorry, yes, butt goal was really cool. But one fluke goal does not a top 4 D-man make. He's a UFA. They CAN'T lose him in the Vegas draft. -
Sabres & NHL 2016-17 - Victor Antipin Signs One Year Deal
Taro T replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Pysyk was "quiet & efficient" playing against 3rd & 4th liners. He's a 5/6 tops. It really stinks that one of the richest owners in the league had a $4MM D's season tanked by a $10 door clasp. Kulikov has not been good, but he has essentially been playing w/ a broken tailbone the entire year. The trade hasn't worked out, but Pysyk isn't a keeper & would not have been protected in the Vegas draft. Barring the fluke injury, the trade might have / probably would've worked out. -
Knew he'd bailed on VA. Figured he could've gotten into his mother's alma mater back on Earth to doubly piss off dear old dad prior to hitting up SFA. Bummer about U of Phoenix finally closing down. And how did he not get any honorary degrees either. Has to be speciesism. Friggin' futuristic specieists.

Better question. Why didn't Mr. Spock get a doctorate? Vulcans live ridiculously long lives & the guy was brilliant. Shouldn't he have gotten the PhD before joining Starfleet?

Scandinavian Progressivism and other Foolishness
Taro T replied to Prickly Pete's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Which is really surprising given the number of blondes they have working for them. -
Yep. Always remembered it as the US having no way to get silver, but believe if they'd've tied the Finns they'd've had silver losing gold to the Soviets on goal differential. Had the Swedes been able to tie the Soviets & the Finns would've beat the US by at least 2 goals, the US would've missed out on a medal altogether. The better trivia question than who won silver in '80 would be who won bronze. It wasn't the Finns; it was the Swedes who tied the US in their group's opening game & also tied the Finns in the medal round's opening game. US 5, USSR 4, Sweden 2, Finland 1 were the final standings.

The excuse is simple: Trump is 100% moronic. As everything he does is moronic, any & all actions, nominations, & ideas must, by definition be moronic. And 100% moronic nominations (even if on the surface they don't appear to be moronic &/or are actually inspired) must be opposed 100% of the time. Note: rather than moronic, they might go w/ evil or that oldie but goodie evil AND moronic.

Polling PPP Poll Proliferation Part LXIX

When do the polls close? What about absentee voting? How do we show our ID? Poll question 2 answers all of thise, right? -
President Trump's "alternate facts"
Taro T replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
It does appear that it was in fact different. President Obama knew he was lying & sending out surrogates to continue/ support the lies. President Trump doesn't appear to realize when what he says is a lie. Does he know? Perhaps. Is it better than intentionally lying? Not really. But it IS different. Not happy that he won; but definitely prefer it to the only realistic alternative left in November. Still have hopes that his cabinet & court picks do enough good to outweigh the damage he likely ends up doing himself. And corny as it is, it does seem that his "make America great again" is his sincere goal. Didn't & still don't believe that the D's nominee had much, if any, concern for anyone but her daughter or herself. We're probably screwed w/ this outcome, but that's possibly better than being definitely screwed like we would've been w/ the expected November result. -
That's awesome!

Michael Sam: Who's to blame?
Taro T replied to BringBackFergy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Didn't follow the story closely. Thought it was because one needs to be a woman to play in a women's league & she's not ready to retire yet. -

Other way around. Woman player on the women's team. After she's done playing wants to become a man. -
Say a prayer for Danny, my son....
Taro T replied to Nervous Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't think of anything worse than losing a child. You and your family have my prayers & condolences. May your Danny find the peace he couldn't find here. -
Though we joke that he acts like a 2 or 4 year old, middle school is probably most accurate of pre-, elementary-, middle-, or high schooler.

Is Trump Mentally Ill?
Taro T replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If the Democrats don't stop throwing their collective hissy fit it is hard to see how any centrist would be able to vote for their candidate regardless of how ridiculous the President ends up. If the economy isn't swirling down the bowl, can't see a scenario where the R's don't gain in the Senate though losses in the House in mid-terms is almost inevitable (though pretty sure 43 gsined seats in '02). If it is swirling & the D's are still behaving like spoiled children, maybe we finally do see a legit 3rd party pop up. Though in the case of the economy being average/bad, I'd more expect to see R gains in the Senate & the house go D. -
Neil Gorsuch - Nominee to the Supreme Court

Link? No idea what you (& likely he, too) mean by the bolded. -
Neil Gorsuch...Should Get Nominated to SCOTUS
Taro T replied to Dr.Sack's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Interesting. Common sense like that would go a long way towards explaining why Schumer wants him to be considered an ideological zealot. Don't know much about him, but the little I've read has been very encouraging. -
Saw the original Strassel article in Friday's WSJ. If the author of the law is in fact correct on what it states and how it operates there could be a lot of regulations to potentially rollback. And implementing that would go miles towards restoring checks & balances. One definite potential plus in the Trump v Clinton Donald column.

Twitter lefties go after Seinfeld more BLM crap.
Taro T replied to Maury Ballstein's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Obviously, the movie would NOT be funny. That wasn't the question. The question was whether Hollywood would explode as if the 6th of 7 seals had been opened were Blazing Saddles pitched w/ the aforementioned performer included in the role of sheriff. If Hollywood survived, somebody might actually make that movie (so hopefully nobody does pitch it); somebody paid for that Ghostbusters remake afterall. -

Sadly, that's probably correct. -

But would it still burn if Amy Shumer (sp?) was cast in Cleavon Little's role? -
President Trump's "alternate facts"
Taro T replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
True. I know grown up, adult people that literally claimed to have laid on their couch for a day after the election too stunned to move. Also, pretty certain that we were supposed to be in a nuclear war started by the Cheeto-dust golem by now. -
President Trump's "alternate facts"
Taro T replied to Benjamin Franklin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well, there'd be debate on it, but considering the person that comes in at #2 is now sitting in the WH, it'd be tough taking the title from her. And if it's strictly "despised" rather than disliked or distrusted, W might win that one. A whole lot of lefties absolutely hated him.
