As a 'second-tier' option, I like this. If Shanahan says no, we're pretty much out of the top guys, unless Cowher is genuine about just wanting to wait until after the season to discuss. That would be interesting though if Fewell were HC and Martz were his OC rather than Martz simply becoming HC.

I like Brohm a lot too - but he needs a veteran to show him the way. The Bills would be doing themselves a huge favor if they signed Chad Pennington this offseason to mentor Brohm, or any other QB they may draft.

It's good news, I'm pleased, hoping for at least one more signing.

The best thing I heard King say was that Shanahan and his choice of DC were spending time this off-season studying the Steelers' 3-4 defense and would bring that wherever they go. The 3-4 is so much better - we just need the big plug in the middle.

Until something comes directly from Shanahan, the most reliable source for anything concerning him is Adam Schefter, period.

He has also stated multiple times that he would not have any interest in coaching unless it was a head coaching position.

I was never enamoured with Gruden. He inherited an excellent team with Tampa, won a SB the first year, and gradually the team slid into oblivion. He is a "quarterback guru", yet has failed to develop a quarterback. His offenses were never great. The Bills desparately need someone who has proven they can build a competitve team. This team needs to built, not rebuilt, because it hasn't been built at all for a decade. To me, the best names available are Cowher and Shanahan, with Holmgren also in the mix. Unfortunately, it's doubtful we'd get any of them.

Has Stroud really been that good..?? I don't ask trying to be a wise-ass; I haven't been able to watch the past four games, only follow them online so I haven't seen him actually play lately. BUT, I figure with him anchoring the league's worst run defense, how effective has he really been??

Wow - I'm the farthest thing from an Edwards apologist, and I hope Fitz starts next week, but Trent has made that throw quite a few times. Off the top of my head, he did vs. NE this year, and vs. Jax last year. Same exact throw.

Byrd has been a welcome surprise so far - but the guy REALLY needs to bulk up a little bit and learn how to tackle. His tackling was awful yesterday.

Tough game to watch, yet such great football. I hate the Dolphins, but I've grown to hate the Jets equally because of all the awful New York fans down here in South FL. The worst part: the Bills are so far away from both of them it's almost tragic.

I like Nick a lot. His sportstalk Saturday shows are much better than anyone else's. Dan Cave does the best updates, too bad he's a weekend guy.

Really happy with how Florence played. We make fun of the Bills for drafting so many players in the secondary - but you gotta admit it's a strength of the team. They don't have a top-flight elite CB or safety, but the starters are solid and the depth players are more than capable. Our 4th or 5th CB could start for the Dolphins.
