  1. While somewhat more understandable than your first post, it's not by much.
  2. I'm ready to see what Fitzpatrick can do. He looked decent in the preseason.
  3. I hate sounding like a T.O. apologist, but all four balls thrown to hit were either overthrown, underthrown, or ahead of him. None were on target. I'd be frustrated too, and I can't blame him for not saying much with the media.
  4. I'd actually take these things more seriously if they called it something like "ESPN Analyst Outcome Guesses". The fact that half of these guys are called "Experts" is laughable only more by anyone taking any credence in one of their "picks".
  5. I was at the game tonight - Manning is so good. Was there any doubt he was gonna lead a TD drive? The Phins are introducing a whole bunch of new crap this year...celebrities, etc...but nothing worse than their new "Fins Up" campaign. This is just brutal. I think Jimmy Buffet wrote...something like "Fins to the left, Fins to the right, We're at the only game in town." I mean...wow, it's really, really, really, REALLY bad.
  6. Schlereth has been awful for years - who cares about his picks this week.
  7. Regular season folks....first regular season visit. I went to the last game in Tampa - Game 2 of the JP experiment. What a disaster of a trip that was.
  8. In Buffalo, that should be the first thing you consider.
  9. What a game!!! Jacory is ridiculous. As long as he doesn't get injured, the Canes will be a force this year. They should finish in the Top 20, which is a huge step forward from the past couple years. Go Canes!!
  10. Cowher or Shanahan. If the Bills have a poor season, fire Jauron, and both of these guy are available and we fail to land one of them, that is an epic failure. Especially if they wind up on other teams.
  11. That's their plan. From what the media is saying, Parcells isn't too thrilled with all of the hoopla; he'd prefer the focus to be football. But who knows. What I don't get is why people care if there are minority owners.
  12. I have to disagree on Jake Grove for now. He could prove people wrong down the road, but he is a FA acquisition that the folks down here are dogging. A stat I just heard from a Sun-Sentinel beat writer was on a succession of six plays, he got completely rolled three times. That's rough for a center. Perhaps he is just adjusting the system. Crowder....eh, I think he's overrated, but yeah they def have better LBs than us.
  13. Here is a rundown of what's goin on with the Fish...I live in Miami and listen to their sports talk radio all day at work, and read the Miami Herald all the time. 1. The Fins faithful and media are in love with two of their rookies: Sean Smith and Patrick Turner (a 3rd round WR). Smith has been everything Vontae Davis (1st rounder) was supposed to be. Look for Smith to be lining up against Evans or Owens. Turner is a big target who has "wowed" in training camp. That really means nothing of course, but Miami has a mediocre WR corp, so this guy might be getting some catches. 2. Two rookies that are getting dogged are the aforementioned Davis, as well as 2nd round wildcat QB Pat White. Pat White's physique is being likened to that of a kicker and has been wildly inaccurate. I guess he'll help out the new wrinkles in the wildcat. 3. Some folks in the media down here think that the Fins have a top 5 offensive line. I didn't watch last night - did they look that good? Jake Long is a HoF in the making, Smiley is a good guard, Vernon Carey is solid, but I'm not sold on their center (Jake Grove I think is his name?) that they signed from Oakland. If their o-line really is that good, then Ricky, Ronnie, and Patrick Cobbs will be a force for them. 4. Everyone seems to agree that the secondary is a problem still; but most seem satisfied, if not excited, about the front seven. Jason Taylor has apparently been the best player in camp, which I can believe, so that's a big problem. He is actually a linebacker now, so along with Joey Porter and Channing Crowder I guess it's pretty decent. Probably better than our LBs overall.
  14. Despite living 15-20 miles south of Dolphin Stadium, I've stopped going to this game for several reasons. Dolfans are a brutal bunch; really rude, obnoxious, and annoying. I can't blame them, though: I'd turn into a prick too if every one of my home games were infiltrated by fans of the opposing team. Also, the stadium really seems to lack a good football atmosphere. Seats seem to be far away from the action. Parking is $30. And not to mention its blazing hot out. If anyone's gonna come to Miami that weekend though, other things going on to consider: For sports fans, the Hurricanes are at home vs. Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, and for music fans, The Killers are playing in Miami on Saturday night.
  15. Probably the same things he always has to say, which is nothing. We really like our team this year. We're trying to strengthen our position as a viable team in Buffalo. We're committed to Buffalo. Terrell has been a great addition for us. We have full confidence in our coaching staff. So on and so forth.
  16. Thats a pretty ignorant statement. Soccer has gained a lot of popularity since 20 years ago. Did you see just yesterday an EXHIBITION soccer match in Seattle drew over 66,000 fans? It will never reach the popularity of the NFL - but its growing nicely.
  17. Oh Jesus, get over that. I'm happy when athletes don't say the same ole same ole. Are you really clamoring for a quote from an athlete like "I'm looking forward to playing with so and so. He's got a lot of talent. Great opportunity."? Fun.
  18. He was never found guilty...while it's possible he did it, I'm more inclined to believe it was just people after his money.
  19. LMAO. Aside from that, folks: The Gillettes (or however its spelled) sold the Canadiens because they needed quick cash to make a huge payment on debt they have related to their purchase of Liverpool Football Club in the EPL. They financed almost their entire purchase of LFC and were in danger of defaulting on their loans and becoming a going concern. Selling the Habs is a good, fast cash infusion.
  20. Gabriels Gate is by far my favorite. Not much of a Duffs fan, I think its overrated. I've seen Jim Kelly at the Gate pounding some wings.
  21. I will def admit the pizza looks better in those pics than what I've had before.
  22. Agreed on La Nova...sure it's the trendy pick, but it's trendy for a reason...it's really good.
  23. Not to make this into a food war, but is anyone else with me in not liking Bocci pizza? I think it's the only pizza in Buffalo that I don't like. Of course everyone can recommend the "best" pizza, wings, etc...but I really think Buffalo has so much more to offer pizza-wise than Bocci's. And speaking of wings, I'll throw my personal favorite out there: Gabriel's Gate down on Allen St. I'm not sure what else there is to recommend that is kid-friendly. Maybe Darien Lake if your daughter gets bored with the art, architecture, etc. Unfortunately the area down by the marina looks like a hell-hole right now due to the destruction of The Aud, hopefully that image won't be your wife and daughter's lasting impression. While you're up at the Falls, maybe you could visit the wax museums. I haven't done that in forever, so I don't remember if it's kid-friendly or not. Have a great trip!
