  1. And wanting to move on does not mean they're going to rush to make it happen. This isn't the same GM who made the O'Reilly deal and also got other sub-par returns like in the Kane deal. We really don't have any history to go on for predicting Adams trades. -Hall deal with the NMC -Expiring deals at the deadline (Staal, Montour, Johansson) -Johansson for Staal Those are all in a completely different ballpark and they give me absolutely no idea of where he might go with Eichel.
  2. I almost wonder if Granato is the kind of guy who should be coaching the Amerks. Sure, he got a lot more out of players by using him in better situations, but I feel like that's more of a strike against Krueger than it is a positive for Granato. Any good head coach should be able to know to put players in those better, more appropriate situations. Yes, we know Granato can get more out of these guys, but just how much can he get and how long can it last? I really want to see a more seasoned NHL head coach behind that bench, especially after the last two hires. With Granato, I worry that they're setting setting the ceiling a bit too low.
  3. He gets to play second fiddle to one of the greatest player that ever lived. I'm not saying he's a scrub in a different situation, but that certainly has a major impact on his career development.
  4. I usually hate hypotheticals, but I bet things would look a hell of a lot different if Reinhart and Draisaitl switched placed back in 2014. All too often people look at the final result and say the draft pick was a mistake. This completely ignores the role played by the player development of each team.
  5. You just described the consistency. If you injure someone with an illegal hit, you will get suspended. I wish their standard was different, but they've been fairly consistent. The only place they break from that standard is when it's a fight, two willing participants.
  6. At least one referee on the ice called it charging (probably the other as well). The NHL called it charging. It was charging.
  7. This approach of blaming a player for scoring a goal... I have to say, it's unique.
  8. The intent is going to matter all that much. When you trip or hook a guy on a breakaway, your intent is to prevent a goal, but it's still a penalty. This one is going to draw a suspension. Every video they release about a suspension always starts out with exactly what rule was broken and how it was broken, then followed up with the so called damage report. This one checks every box on that list.
  9. I'm torn here. I can't get behind anyone named Brooks or Bryson.
  10. You should ignore my advice.
  11. Has there been any comment on that timeframe of recovery?
  12. I had a duck nest hidden in the front of my house last year. They're flying all over the neighborhood recently, so we'll find out soon if they stop here again.
  13. They gun it and take that left the second the light turns green, right? Unfortunately I missed that press conference, had to leave a couple minutes before it started. I believe the reaction though since it's been pretty much universal everywhere I've looked. I just hope it doesn't mess with the return in anyway. One things certain though, it won't be Boston.
  14. The local news spends 99% of their broadcast time showing us lines as different gas stations all over their viewing area. The remaining 1% is used to quickly say that that the panic is the sole reason for why stations are empty. They have way too much power and they choose to only use it to get higher ratings.
  15. The college game is huge up there, particularly with anyone growing up in the hockey world like he would have. In that world, BU-BC would be the equivalent of Duke-UNC in bouncyball. So there's one case where he completely by his own choice passed over "his" team for what he thought was a better situation. But anyway, the vast majority of pro athletes wind up on a team that isn't who they grew up liking. The only reason we're mentioning it here is more than likely because we all hate Boston so much. It's probably time to go, but "entitled masshole" isn't even #75 on the list of reasons why. That's our own biases showing.
  16. I couldn't help but laugh as I drove past a couple gas stations here in NC today. These people have probably burned off more gas than they even needed in the first place just idling in those lines forever.
  17. I doubt there's much of anything to that Bruin fan thought. Jack grew up a BC fan but then went to BU after being recruited by both. I don't know how familiar you are with that rivalry, but it's not exactly cordial. He went with the situation that better set himself up moving forward and at this stage, I can't fault any player who thinks they're better moving forward if they're not on this team. The rest of this situation, the way they're playing it out is downright strange. I'm one to point my finger towards the agent when a game like this is being played.
  18. Throw him on the broadcast team instead
  19. That one was creepy from start to finish. They did a nice job of establishing the cult feel very early.
  20. Not a single "how the hell did you get out of there, Daniel" at the end when he was leaving?
  21. So what exactly was Virginia building the army for anyway? She seemed genuinely surprised that certain people were still alive (more than just Dwight and company), so it had to be more than just her castaways returning for blood. I guess we have 5 more episodes to find out.
  22. I think the guy sat down and ordered a burger. Seriously though, I really hate endings like that, if for no reason other than my wife continuously asks me "do you think Tony Soprano died". Hell, she does it with Breaking Bad too, even though that one couldn't have been any more obvious. They even mention the outcome in the El Camino movie but she still asks the damn question.
  23. Yeah, he's fine. I just completely forgot about him. It's kind of like last season with the episode where John was looking for who killed the one ranger (the one we just found out that Virginia's sister killed). The woman they ultimately framed, I had completely forgotten who she was and had to look it up. They need to at least develop the character a bit if they want to use her for meaningful death. So far this half season, they definitely understand that. Also, in talking about the rabbi, I recognize the actor from other roles (House), so I won't forget who he is.
  24. The cast has gotten way too big so they definitely need to thin the herd a bit. Unfortunately they chose the best character on the show as their first kill. That said, it has way more meaning than if they had decided to kill someone completely pointless like Nick's old girlfriend or either of the trucker twins. Hell, I never much cared about June up until the last couple minutes last night. They're definitely bringing it so far this half season with the big time deaths. Hopefully we can get a few more, which bring extra screen time to the better characters and allow them to shine. I can't be the only one who had an "oh yeah, there's a rabbi on this show" moment.
  25. A side note from last week's episode: The Walking Dead may just be the worst possible TV show for a suicide prevention PSA.
