  1. Have to agree. Who is a better choice? Like him or not, he got the job done!
  2. Yes, and the Pats would have had one less timeout left when they got the ball back (than if a pass had gone incomplete). I like the call, even if it hadn't worked.
  3. Like his former teammate, Ko Simpson (who also played just two years of college ball), he could have an immediate impact. A steal, if he is still there in round 2. Spurrier hated to lose him.
  4. I watched him many times over the past two years. He is big, fast, a leaper and with very good hands. Look at his stats against some very good SEC teams! He dominated games, even when double-teamed. He would be a great addition, and not too big a stretch at #12. However, like others, I believe we have greater needs. With improved offensive line play (protection for JP) the WRs we already have (like Price and Parish) should have more time to get downfield, have better stats, and take some of the heat off of Evans.
  5. Doesn't really sound like one. Give him a break (as it were).
  6. Yes. I'd trade one-for-one in a skinny minute. Rivers is the real thing. JP may be some day (I hope), but has yet to prove it.
  7. IMO we have signed the most important FA, Lindell. I'll settle for Fletcher and Kelsay. Nate is gone, I'm sorry to say.
  8. Prediction: Shelton will be back. We can't do any better without using up (a needed) 3rd round draft choice. Live with it.
  9. Didn't we once have a QB who held onto the ball too long, took sacks and fumbled frequently when he did? Deja vu. But, give him time and he was accurate (unlike JP) and threw TDs. I think he went to Dallas, didn't he? Anyone remember his name?
  10. Yea, but, but..... He disrespect me!
  11. He has to become a Bill. Where else but Buffalo would fans be able to spell and pronounce his name!
  12. Cookie Gilchrist. Back when linebackers weighed 210. He was unstoppable on short yardage plays. Cheers, old timer!
  13. A very good call - Willis was not going to pound it in. One block (by Willis) and it's a TD.
  14. I was there too. The Bills were behind early (in the rain) and the Fins fans were obnoxious about it. But they disappeared quickly when the Bills went ahead for good. Great fun. My daughter's boyfriend (a big Fins fan) pouted all the way home.
  15. Lindell. Were we wrong about him, or what?! Couldn't be happier.
  16. Too bad he didn't hang in until this year. A smart, hard-working Princeton grad - Marv and DJ would have found a place for him.
  17. I believe it was Wilmer Fowler. If so, I remember him as a small, quick running back who didn't last long.
  18. OK, that makes sense. I remembered it as being owned by the Knox brothers - their polo field. I went there in 1960 with my father and brothers to watch the new Bills (How old am I!). I remember a monster of a guy named Birtho Arnold, who was cut shortly afterward. Anyone else remember him? Of course then the QB battle was a two-way one - Richie Lucas (first ever #1 draft choice) and Tommy O'Connell.
  19. Thanks - that sounds right. It was an open field with a white wood fence around it.
  20. Yes, I tend to agree. Real news versus tired speculation - Did JP get a haircut? Did Takeo seem to limp a little? The Bills will have their time in the spotlight - when there is some real news to report. Meanwhile, the re-signings by the Sabres' key players is important stuff for a team that has brought some pride back to Buffalo..
