  1. Where did you see this? That's not what the board has been speculating. At that price he's definitely worth a shot.
  2. The conventional wisdom is the longer he is on the open market, the weaker the leverage for the player. My preference is to work a trade for Jeudy if we want to upgrade wr this year. Whether we do that or not, I hope there is a plan to further upgrade the oline.
  3. Well, the pull quote was from Barley which states "Both were first round picks and have 5th year options so, yes, both were controllable for 5 seasons. Oliver is on his 5th year option now. Jeudy has his next season." That flat out states that Oliver is in his last year of the five, Jeudy in his fourth. If you were referencing an earlier statement, naturally, there may be confusion on the issue, but not in the direct quote that I saw you interacting with.
  4. Isn't that the point of the quote you are responding to? The relative lack of control in both cases is part of the equation when speculating trade value.
  5. Excellent explanation.
  6. Dorsey is supposed to favor 12 personnel. It does create mismatches. A strong blocking TE with some offensive ability would be a solid add. Given the positional strength in the draft, I do think there's a decent possibility a relatively early pick could be used. I like Washington. Supposedly we met with him.
  7. Well, from what some fellas were posting the other day, there are various income streams that have not kicked in yet. There's a reasonable assumption that the cap will increase considerably in the next few years. I don't know, but I wouldn't simply assume it won't happen and I surmise the FO has factored all this in to how they are operating now.
  8. Yes, that sounds terrific. I floated a similar idea minus Wagner yesterday. @NewEra legitimately pointed out that Seumalo is probably taking the Falcons' contract with Chris Lindstrom as a marker for the kind of contract he is looking for. Anything remotely close to that is prohibitive for the Bills. I'd still take Wagner and Jeudy.
  9. I guess we better give Connor McGovern back.
  10. You have a higher opinion of Davis than I and it appears a somewhat lower opinion of Knox. Davis is an average #2, imo, but inconsistent and the drops last year were bad. Maybe they are an aberration as you suppose. I certainly hope so. I would still prefer another option to be added. My personal view is that Beane should try and add a Jeudy or an OBJ to compliment Diggs. I do agree, however, that really solidifying the oline ought to be the priority and if you get that right, Josh Allen will make everyone better. (I don't think the addition of McGovern alone is likely to accomplish that. At the least, you better bring in someone to compete with Brown at RT.) I think the problem with Knox is mostly one of game plan and emphasis, with the added difficulty that we needed Knox to frequently be used primarily to help an ineffective oline. I agree on OC. Dorsey really needs to have a second year leap. Hines and Cook were also under utilized. McKenzie had a few excellent games and as you note, he's a very engaging, affable personality. He was also frequently exasperating as a player. I wish him well and hope he signs with an NFC team so I can more easily root for him.
  11. Are you convinced Davis is a reliable #2? I think a more consistent, talented wr to play on the outside is needed for the wr room to be complete. I sure as Hades ain't comfortable saying everything is now fine. They need to add a te#2 and at least one more olineman while they are at it.
  12. Still think you can get Jeudy and upgrade the oline, but yes, if the fella is available for the price speculated, Beane should be all over that.
  13. I would still find a way to sign Isaac Seumalo and draft Matthew Bergeron in the 2nd. See if you can nab Jeudy with 27. Bates can be primary backup at G and C.
  14. I would offer 27. I think that gets the deal done. Even if folks are down on Oliver, he has ability and in the right situation he could thrive. Just getting rid of his cap hit is not enough compensation to throw him into the mix for me. If you are thinking Oliver and 27, I want Jeudy and a draft pick coming back.
  15. Buffalo Superfan made another prolix post asserting that Terry Pegula should be in jail because of the public money devoted to the new stadium. I feel like his day job is walking around with a signboard announcing the end of the world.
  16. Dunno, when I see Foster the first thing I think about is the Australian oil can.
  17. I agree with him. I've been a Bills' fan for over fifty years. You gonna tell me to go root for another team, tough guy? Your sarcasm is completely out of place.
  18. These are all genuine prudential considerations. Lots of talking heads on tv want to turn it into an obvious morality tale with NFL teams acting badly colluding against poor, super talented Lamar, but it's clearly not that simple.
  19. Dorsey needs to make a significant leap in finding a way to utilize the talent provided to him. Fella earlier today was looking at some highlights and said he was reminded of Darren Sproles. (Yes, different position, but the comp doesn't seem a stretch.) That kind of instant energy for the offense would be a welcome addition.
  20. They might be waiting it out like with Poyer. Looks like a buyer's market at the position. I suspect the interest in Jamaal Williams is true. He brings an element currently lacking the rb room.
  21. Seumalo would make me happy. There needs to be a praying hands emoji.
  22. Saw plenty of Mariota in Atlanta. He is awful.
  23. Absolutely not. You still need a bigger WR2 with speed and solid hands. Shakir is not a replacement for Davis and Davis is better counted on as a third option. If they bring in OBJ or Hopkins, then you can take WR off the table for the first few rounds, but I think they are probably better served going with youth -- the question is the caliber of wr available in the draft, which is down from the previous two years.
  24. Zeno's paradox: finitude is inexhaustible in that sense. Asymptotic approach can get infinitely near without ever arriving. In my opinion, that amounts to a bad infinite. I also don't think the infinite as a subject of metaphysics is the same. At least for the ancients, the infinite was understood as a menacing chaos. Form was determinate finite perfections that were threatened by the infinite. If you think Being and the infinite as coincident, there is a way to see that as open ended and susceptible to personal flourishing, but that is touching on matters approached more in myth and theology, though comprehensible as metaphysics. Pascal, on the other hand, was an exemplary proto-modern who saw the infinite as frightening void that put in question the hopes and desires of the human heart.
  25. He'll want to get paid as a LT, though apparently some folks in the NFL view him as more a RT type. Are you moving Dawkins to G? I think that may be where he should be, but I doubt Dawkins sees it that way. I'd be shocked if they spend on a big ticket olineman, though I wish they would. I'd like to add Isaac Seumalo, the Eagles' guard.
