We're obviously not going to improve the oline with a high priced FA olineman. It's McGovern and maybe another relatively modest addition might shake out. I hope we spend at least one early round pick to bolster the oline. I am not satisfied what we have done so far is enough. All that said, rookie contracts don't preclude adding an expensive weapon. Personally, I am good with both.

He's a better player than McKenzie, but I have a similar feeling for both. I like their personalities. They sometimes make really good plays, but not enough. In Oliver's case, there's the added dimension of the high draft pick never quite materializing.

They will draft one. I would not presume it will be an early pick. The trolls are out painting the most dire scenarios. I predict two of the first three rounds are devoted to offense.

I've been using the pff mock simulator as heuristic for what might happen. Then yesterday I tried one by the pro football network and got entirely different scenarios with widely differing pools of players available at various points in the draft. I've no idea, but the pff mock is much less accommodating to my wishes, therefore given the nature of reality I have discovered in nearly six decades, I assume it is more genuinely predictive. I'd be really surprised if Johnston fell that far.

I do think you have to try and stop them, but I agree the game is heavily tilted towards the offense and I have been advocating for a significant investment in the offense this off season, even if that means taking a hit on D. We miss out on the advantages of having an offensive minded HC, let's see McD coach up a team that doesn't require most of the top picks going to feed his side of the ball. If they don't use an early round pick on the Oline, I don't think they are acting with sufficient prudence to protect Josh Allen. I also think a day one or two pick at TE should be considered because if you add a quality TE along with Knox, you can properly deploy 12 personnel which introduces much more uncertainty for the opposing D.

I don't think a Diggs replacement is in this draft, nor do I think a potential LT is likely there when we are picking. But of course, maybe there is. I'm not an expert, I'm only reading the evaluations of others.

It's because of the reasons you've articulated above for Kelce that I think if Dalton Kincaid is available at 27, he ought to be a consideration. I am skeptical that a WR1 will be sitting there, but Kincaid could be. He has a game that could emulate Kelce's role. (Kelce is in the conversation for best TE ever, so I'm not putting that on the young man, but he is a legit offensive weapon and could develop into someone you have to gameplan against.)

Understood. I mostly agree, I think. I do believe you might be able to get OBJ on a relatively affordable contract for a year or two. (I don't think the market is going to dictate a ridiculous contract.) I was in on the trade for Jeudy idea earlier, but your kind of considerations soured me on it.

I can't answer for that fella. I think Bates could potentially be a starting C. If you look upthread, I've spelled out how I see things. The reason you might consider drafting Kincaid is he is a dangerous offensive weapon and two above average TEs allows one to employ 12 personnel, an offense that Dorsey has favored in the past. It stresses the defense and puts a lot of uncertainty into the equation. Since I doubt a WR1 is going to be sitting there at 27 and Kincaid could conceivably drop, I think it's a real consideration for Beane.

Unfortunately, this is not a good year for WR in the draft. I don't think potential WR1 falls to 27. I do think Dalton Kincaid has a chance to be a real offensive threat at TE and he might.

I don't think so. You'd have to modify the defense. Maybe they should. If you want an Edmunds' replacement, it's Simpson or Sanders.

I've been trying to figure all the possibilities. Seems to me they have to try and grab either OBJ or Wagner, a solid vet at one of the positions of need. Otherwise, you're asking the draft to do too much. I favor OL and TE on offense in the draft. You can't go past early second at LB imo. TE has good depth, but its also a position that might have real talent available at 27.

All great choices. Five is really too small a number.
