Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
Dr. Who replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I put Airhead on ignore and you fellas keep quoting the dim little freak. -
I like the signing, just trying to answer Einstein's question. I'm still waiting for his current thoughts on quantum theory.
-
As stated upthread, he had concussion issues that cost him most of last season. Maybe some teams are wary. If he returns to prior form, it's a solid signing.

So he's no more an NFL insider than my cat? I asked my cat, he said "Isn't it time for a snack?" -

I don't have the expertise to evaluate, but you sure as hell sound like you know what you're talking about. -

That's reasonable. I think we should have made wr a priority last year. I wanted to trade up for Jameson Williams. This years crop of draftable wrs appears less compelling than recent ones and I doubt one falls to 27. I think we need someone to step in and be a more dangerous wr2 than Davis, so I hope Beane gives us a better option. At risk of crusading, I believe Dalton Kincaid is going to be an offensive threat. If he falls to 27, I think he's worth a shot there. -
They should still spend a first or second on OL.

Assume you are the GM. Is the downside so significant that you switch targets and think about Jeudy or do you just stand pat and see what the draft offers? -
I tried that mock draft simulator the other day. It's very different from the PFF model. I think it gives you much better players later. My guess is it's not realistic.

Not sure how they make all that work under the cap. It would be great if it happened. Then go OT, TE2, and DT with the early picks. -

Well, that's a lot going on. Even then, Josh is the better option, but it does make things more equivocal. -

Would you rather have Mac Jones or Josh Allen throwing to you? -

I don't know, but the reasoning here is right. I think it's more likely than not and it's the right thing to do. -
You are presuming McGovern is a wasted investment. A number of longtime posters on this board who know personnel believe he has genuine upside and is at least a competent guard. Despite the fact that you are GreggTX with I surmise some awareness of the Cowboys' roster, I'm going to give more credence to their opinions, especially as they do not exhibit a consistent penchant to opt for the negative. Sherfield should be both a ST contributor and someone who could provide legitimate WR3 contributions. If Harty can stay healthy, he provides a home run threat. They might not work out, but they are not utterly worthless signings to be dismissed out-of-hand. Ideally, you find a way to get a more dangerous WR2, draft at least one early round ol addition, and then add a TE2 who can both block and catch. None of that is impossible.

Wisdom is matched to particular circumstances. When things change, so does the best choice of action. -

You're not the adult in the room, fella. Everyone knows the Bills are operating with a limited budget. Do you think Beane is going to publicly show everyone all his cards? Candor of that kind and poker/football GM don't mix. If an opportunity arises to improve the team, he'll look into it. We're not dealing with a cash strapped owner like the Raiders. There are licit ways to work the cap to allow player acquisition, especially if your owner is willing to pay out cash to convert salaries to upfront cash. And fans enjoy the prospect of getting difference maker playmakers. It adds excitement and a measure of anticipation to life which can be very hard filled with sadness and strife. So if you think it is all foolish non-sense, just keep it to yourself for at worst, it's an entirely harmless foolishness. -

I'm sure you're right. Going to go check and make sure my Get Off My Lawn sign is not askew. I'd yell at the clouds, but it's too dark to see. -

Well, I dunno, maybe wait until the trade is done to post that sort of thing? But I'm old. I'm sure my ethical sensibility is outdated. -

If he ends up coming here, that is all fun. If it's just messing with a fan base, that's not so nice. -

Yeah, I sorta buy that story. Guess we'll see. It's going to be disappointing now if they don't add a splash wr, more than frustrating if we stand pat and the Chiefs end up with Hopkins and/or OBJ. They're not paying anything close to a one for Hopkins if it happens at all. -

I'm just guessing there might be fire to the smoke surrounding Ed Oliver. If you take his cap money and distribute it on offense, it becomes more feasible. I also think they may be rethinking the D a bit. Add in two 1 tech space eater DTs -- you can get those later in the draft. -

We're obviously not going to improve the oline with a high priced FA olineman. It's McGovern and maybe another relatively modest addition might shake out. I hope we spend at least one early round pick to bolster the oline. I am not satisfied what we have done so far is enough. All that said, rookie contracts don't preclude adding an expensive weapon. Personally, I am good with both. -
I don't want him coming over for dinner. I want him to catch the ball.
