  1. Fella with a handle of IronMaidenBills most certainly has a different taste in music from me, and I think there's something a bit jejune in his hyperbolic rhetoric, but I also agree that Beane ought to feel urgency to make a significant move if there is one to reasonably be had (or even a little unreasonably . . . )
  2. Well, I'd give that a laughing emoji, but when you really think about it, it's not really a risible matter.
  3. Do they ever say a meeting didn't go well?
  4. Years ago, I used to work in a Christian bookstore. Old folks would come in and ask for a large print, compact Bible. I'd tell them, you can have the tiny Bible or the large print, but you can't have both. Seems to me the Cardinals wanting not to retain any salary and also receive higher draft picks is the equivalent. No one is going for that, so compromise or maybe carry an expensive disgruntled WR on your roster for the year.
  5. Yeah, I checked and figured I must be old and unable to navigate the website . . . which of course, still might be true
  6. I'd probably have a heart attack just thinking about it.
  7. That's the right call.
  8. Pistols at dawn. My dog will act as seconds.
  9. That's pretty much me all the time. I think I was a cat in a past life.
  10. Small potatoes. I say we take the whole internet down.
  11. Is that the equivalent of slow eyes for a qb?
  12. Ahh, Virgil said nothing happens till page 114 about 27 minutes ago. He was pretty good at predicting in the Aeneid, so it might be so.
  13. Torrance is not a scheme fit. Avila is a better choice.
  14. Beane appears to be banking on Brown's athleticism and the view that injury set his development back. I hope his optimism is well-founded, but I would protect against it maybe not going that way by drafting a potential RT relatively early (not the first.)
  15. Except your qb -- maybe he buys you a cool scooter for Christmas.
  16. That's right. I think he does. He's my not so secret crush for the first round.
  17. They definitely need to improve the oliine. McGovern and Edwards if healthy could raise the iol to competent which is a huge upgrade from last year. They still need to add. A day one or two pick needs to be brought in at minimum.
  18. We'll see how it plays out. I think your desire for Hopkins on the team is writing checks above what is necessary. Maybe I'm wrong . . .
  19. The higher the cost on Hopkins, the more Jeudy becomes an option, imo, though they lost a key wr to injury so I'm not even sure he's still on the table. Also, to be honest, I have more faith in Hopkins, so there's that.
  20. I'm guessing you lose a lot at poker. I'm totally on board with acquiring Hopkins. You don't have to pay that much. If it doesn't happen, I doubt it's a compensation issue.
  21. After the fact, of course not. Before then, folks will think that's too much.
  22. If you're that particular, you'll just have to wade through like a picker at a swap meet. Yes, the rumor at least was compensation would probably be closer to the Cooks deal in Dallas. It's worth a third, though.
  23. That be great if you could trade players from other teams. I'm sending Mahomes to Atlanta for a bag of peanuts.
  24. I don't know. I read probably somewhere upthread that he had posted with regards to another player* information that turned out correct. Sometimes, I think these fellas just get lucky. He's good at sounding authoritative. I write fiction. Voice is more than half the battle. *Just above me, that thing about David Edwards.
