I know it's tiresome, but unlike a troll who is persistent in malice, he is operating out of conviction and desire for his team to win a SB. I just don't get as annoyed when that is the case.

I admire a fella who sticks to his guns against all the incoming flak.

I agree with that. It's entirely plausible that is how this regime thinks adequately protecting the franchise qb looks like. Now they can draft DT and LB early and maybe S in the third. I suppose that will qualify as my unpopular take. Still think he's over the top, but he's more rational than many of his critics believe.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

Nah, the fella is a little crazy, but not that crazy. -

That AZ GM is going to end up with 27 and the Bills paying out the whole salary with IronMaidenBills at the helm. -

Yep, it might be that. Folks who say make lemonade when life gives you lemons are taking refuge in a cheap aphorism. The possible doesn't always present you with a good option. But in reality, the Bills don't have to invest all the early picks on D. They could invest an early pick in a WR and hope to get lucky. I like Dalton Kincaid as a dangerous offensive weapon at TE in a year where the WR pool doesn't look that great. Or maybe you wait it out and see if the AZ GM decides to be a tad more reasonable. -

I agree. The new AZ GM's ask is too much, doesn't matter if in a vacuum one can argue Hopkins as a player is worth a 2nd round pick. And if you are asking the Bills to absorb most or all of Hopkins' contract, the price has got to come down. No one is paying that. -

Yes, I agree with that, but I think that is the way McD's D is structured and why so often premium picks are dedicated to defensive players. -

For reasons that Gunner Bill has articulated, I think they would have to change their defensive strategy for Campbell to work. He's a vertical, downhill lb with good instincts. He doesn't have the best horizontal coverage skills. Now, I also said maybe they ought to try adapting what they do to accomodate different talents. So, system fit is the main thing. In Pittsburgh, he'd be great. -

There's no perfect candidate. They might want to grab Bobby Wagner for a stop gap year. -

On the whole, he seems to have more aggression. He does remind me of Edmunds in a lot of ways, however. Part of what was disappointing in Edmunds (who was not a bad player, btw) was that he looked like a Klingon, so you kept expecting fierce violence in his game, when he was in reality more finesse and coverage. Link is to a pretty good brief evaluation of strengths and weaknesses. https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Trenton-Simpson-LB-Clemson -

It's when it insists on playing that damn accordion at three in the morning that I really get annoyed. -

I really hate walking around with a monkey on my back. For one thing, it makes putting a shirt on a constant onerous burden. And that doesn't even begin to consider the monkey's various hygienic habits or lack thereof. -
Yes, I agree with that. I'd like to know why we targeted McGovern and were not apparently a player for Seumalo.

Where are you playing McGovern?

Yes, if AZ doesn't budge at all, they're going to be stuck with an unhappy WR. No one is taking the full brunt of that hit for them, even if you give DHop away. And Iron Maiden, you're going to be on an island if you blame Beane for that. -

It's an issue. Maybe they sign Bobby Wagner as a contingency plan so they aren't forced to make a move, I dunno. -
They need to get a legit goalie for next season and not rush Levi. If he is an exception and NHL ready next year, all the better. I'm hoping they can pry Saros away from the Preds in the offseason.

What, all he wants is something north of 230 million guaranteed. How can you not see that he is heroically fighting against the Man? -

March Madness update for those who can't get away from this thread. San Diego St. just knocked Alabama out of the tournament. Miami has Houston on the ropes. Could be no one seeds left in the Elite Eight. -

Fella with a handle of IronMaidenBills most certainly has a different taste in music from me, and I think there's something a bit jejune in his hyperbolic rhetoric, but I also agree that Beane ought to feel urgency to make a significant move if there is one to reasonably be had (or even a little unreasonably . . . )
