He does seem a good choice and the third round is the sweet spot if you think as I increasingly do that they are likely to expend one of the first two picks on lb. That would allow the other top pick to go hopefully towards wr or oline, though you know they'll be itching to add a 3-tech DT or yet another edge rusher that can't get to the qb.

The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team

Yes, the dome part was just a joke. -
The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team

If we don't know what cleats to wear in Buffalo weather, they sure as hell better decide to put a dome on the new stadium. Seriously, someone needs to be fired if they were clueless about adapting to the snow. -
Another fella here has been recommending Tucker Kraft, South Dakota State TE, who is probably around a third round grade. I'd be surprised if the position is not addressed in the first two days, especially given the quality available this year and Dorsey's assumed desire to employ more 12 personnel in the offense.

I think there are reasonable odds OBJ ends up with the Bills.
-
Beane seems to prioritize getting rid of all the holes. I think it's better to accept a few weak spots in the roster makeup if that is the needed price to go get elite talents that impact a game. We always seem to have a team that lacks glaring weaknesses, but also has fewer top end talents than other teams that are contenders for the SB.

I think I'd rather take a gamble on Simpson going by your analysis.
-
I guess they are different style lbs, but what's your view of Campbell vs. Trenton Simpson? They both look like good picks to me.
-
The conventional wisdom is the longer he is on the open market, the weaker the leverage for the player. My preference is to work a trade for Jeudy if we want to upgrade wr this year. Whether we do that or not, I hope there is a plan to further upgrade the oline.
-
Well, the pull quote was from Barley which states "Both were first round picks and have 5th year options so, yes, both were controllable for 5 seasons. Oliver is on his 5th year option now. Jeudy has his next season." That flat out states that Oliver is in his last year of the five, Jeudy in his fourth. If you were referencing an earlier statement, naturally, there may be confusion on the issue, but not in the direct quote that I saw you interacting with.
-
Isn't that the point of the quote you are responding to? The relative lack of control in both cases is part of the equation when speculating trade value.

Excellent explanation.

Dorsey is supposed to favor 12 personnel. It does create mismatches. A strong blocking TE with some offensive ability would be a solid add. Given the positional strength in the draft, I do think there's a decent possibility a relatively early pick could be used. I like Washington. Supposedly we met with him.

Isaac Seumalo, G, **Update - Signed by Steelers
Dr. Who replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, from what some fellas were posting the other day, there are various income streams that have not kicked in yet. There's a reasonable assumption that the cap will increase considerably in the next few years. I don't know, but I wouldn't simply assume it won't happen and I surmise the FO has factored all this in to how they are operating now. -
Yes, that sounds terrific. I floated a similar idea minus Wagner yesterday. @NewEra legitimately pointed out that Seumalo is probably taking the Falcons' contract with Chris Lindstrom as a marker for the kind of contract he is looking for. Anything remotely close to that is prohibitive for the Bills. I'd still take Wagner and Jeudy.

I guess we better give Connor McGovern back.

You have a higher opinion of Davis than I and it appears a somewhat lower opinion of Knox. Davis is an average #2, imo, but inconsistent and the drops last year were bad. Maybe they are an aberration as you suppose. I certainly hope so. I would still prefer another option to be added. My personal view is that Beane should try and add a Jeudy or an OBJ to compliment Diggs. I do agree, however, that really solidifying the oline ought to be the priority and if you get that right, Josh Allen will make everyone better. (I don't think the addition of McGovern alone is likely to accomplish that. At the least, you better bring in someone to compete with Brown at RT.) I think the problem with Knox is mostly one of game plan and emphasis, with the added difficulty that we needed Knox to frequently be used primarily to help an ineffective oline. I agree on OC. Dorsey really needs to have a second year leap. Hines and Cook were also under utilized. McKenzie had a few excellent games and as you note, he's a very engaging, affable personality. He was also frequently exasperating as a player. I wish him well and hope he signs with an NFC team so I can more easily root for him.
-
Are you convinced Davis is a reliable #2? I think a more consistent, talented wr to play on the outside is needed for the wr room to be complete. I sure as Hades ain't comfortable saying everything is now fine. They need to add a te#2 and at least one more olineman while they are at it.

What’s your offer for WR Jerry Jeudy?
Dr. Who replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still think you can get Jeudy and upgrade the oline, but yes, if the fella is available for the price speculated, Beane should be all over that. -

I would offer 27. I think that gets the deal done. Even if folks are down on Oliver, he has ability and in the right situation he could thrive. Just getting rid of his cap hit is not enough compensation to throw him into the mix for me. If you are thinking Oliver and 27, I want Jeudy and a draft pick coming back. -
Buffalo Superfan made another prolix post asserting that Terry Pegula should be in jail because of the public money devoted to the new stadium. I feel like his day job is walking around with a signboard announcing the end of the world.
