I will never claim that Whaley was bad at player evaluation. His HUGE weakness was the draft imo. He had no problem giving away the store in order to draft players that didn't pan out for various reasons. It was as if he had no self control. He was however a great dresser.

Iirc, Williams also had a pretty bad ankle injury. Not good for a 360 pound (at least) RIGHT tackle (his position at Texas). For some reason Donohoe hated McKinnie and so did many posters. Williams sucked, and McKinnie had a long successful career as a prominent NFL LT. I truly believe that the Bills neglected the OL for so very long that many Bills fans are conditioned to look past the importance of blocking to this very day.

I don't understand this. He was NOT "just like any other player." He was a GREAT player at one of the 3 (if not 2) most important positions. He was easily the best player on the team. The Bills trade of Jason Peters was one of the most things that I ever saw the Bills do, which says quite a bit. It was perhaps even dumber than drafting Whitner, passing on McKinney for Mike Williams, or even hiring Marv Levy as GM.

You are oozing with jealousy and hate. Do you care to disclose which college team that you root for? Coach Saban is 70 years old. Predicting the downfall of Alabama is not a really daring thing to do. I think that if they win the title this year (which they are favored to do) it will not temper your anger and flat out jealousy, nor the contempt that you hold for the greatest college coach who ever lived. It's a little different than that. Between 2018 and 2021, Texas A&M signed a total of 5 5 star players. In 2022 they signed 7. If you don't think that this happened because the players were bought, I don't know whay to tell you. And btw, Saban didn't say that it was illegal. He did imply that the NCAA should have rules regarding NIL. Do you disagree? Yeah, OK. I'm not so sure. Do you remember the gay LB that the Rams (I think) drafted a few years ago? I remember thinking that the guy was a fairly decent player in college but when he got to camp, he was awful. Well, he was in the news for quite some time, no? I think that CK, with his past, his upbringing, his apparent obstinance, and what seems to be a chip on his shoulder is much more of a conversation piece and more newsworthy to the media than a man who just happens to be gay. CK might serve as a distraction to a coach who is trying to instill a certain group mentality to his team. Also, is CK a chronic malcontent? I don't know but if he is, I would not want to coach him, especially given his apparent lack of talent. Of course, jmo.
