  1. I wouldn't say Drew because of his great lifetime stats. By the time we got him, he needed more OL help than the Bills had to offer. IIRC, we had signed a Guard from the Bears who was very good for 7 or 8 games until his body (and our offense) fell completely apart. Was that the same year that we had Drew? Man, doesn't time fly?
  2. OK, I am going to give away my age. I think that only a small percentage of us will remember this man.: Dan Brandenburg, the "Preseason Wonder." Dan was an outside LB drafted in the 7th round in 1996. He was listed at 6'4"/245. He LIT up the field in preseason games. I recall thinking that he was a sack machine. The kid was destroying QBs! He was very fast, and didn't give ground vs. the run. I was positive that he was a complete steal of a draft pick.............until the regular season started. When the games got real he was pancaked and shoved all over the field on virtually every play. I thought that I was seeing things but no, he was slaughtered on a regular basis. To this day I wonder whether or not it was due to injuries. I mean, he WAS from a small school, but he had the size, speed, and (I thought) strength. I am positive that @BADOLBILZwill remember this player. Either way, I hope that he is doing well.
  3. At this point I fully agree. Down the road, who knows?
  4. Allen might be the best that any of us ever saw! This is not my point. Elam faced, and played well against Mac Jones (behind a GREAT OL) throwing to the Heisman Trophy winner (Davonta Smith) and a receiver on the other side who is probably just as good as Smith (Jaylen Waddle). Oh, Jones also had Najee Harris (a great blocker and receivcer) helping out. My point is that Elam is a proven skilled player. Great competition is not new to him.
  5. Yes he has. The kid has went against Davonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle. These two players could wind up as 2 of the best receivers in the NFL. The kid is a good player and great competition is not new to him.
  6. I am hoping that, and would very much appreciate you and/or @Willyville Guy will provide us with an analysis of OSU before the season starts.
  7. You make a very good point Yolo, but the #metoo movement tends to be very selective about what bothers them and who they choose to go after. I too think that this episode will be all but forgotten at some point.
  8. Ever since Marv made that statement, many Bills Fans use that cliche as an excuse to justify poor drafting. Yes, cornerback is a vital position to fill in this passing league. That said, the most important player on the Bills is Josh Allen. He obviously needs to be protected while he is passing, and holes need to be opened for running backs so Josh isn't forced to run the ball himself. For decades, the Bills have made the secondary their #1 priority, usually at the cost of blocking. The 2006 draft was the best example of this. In 2008, the Bills passed on Ryan Clady and Brandon Albert to draft Leotis McKelvin. This year, we actually traded up for a first round corner (Elam) to play in a zone. Is Elam "good?" Yes, he is very good. I watched him play against Alabama. He is a stud but again, protecting Josh is (or at least should be) the top priority of this team. If this 6th round pick turns out to be a good corner, no poster on this board will be happier than me.
  9. Really? To whom (other than QB) would you rather give the money? Even QBs are no good while they are laying on their a$$.
  10. It would be absolutely wonderful for this kid to turn out to be a player!!! It might even negate the urge for McBeane to draft (or perhaps trade up for) 1st round corners to play in a zone.
  11. But I woke up this morning You were on my mind... And You were on my mind Yeah, I got troubles, whoa-oh I got worries, whoa-oh I got wounds to bind Hey, I got a feelin' Down in my shoes... Said uh Way down in my shoes...
  12. Welcome TE Ty Lockwood!!! https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/alabama-football-recruiting-tide-roll-to-no-1-in-rankings-after-four-star-te-ty-lockwood-commits/ The 2023 Crimson Tide is looking VERY good for 2023!!! They have 3 QBs (assuming of course that Bryce goes to the NFL) and are stacked at many other positions. 32 days. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Bows and flows of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feathered canyons everywhere I've looked at clouds that way But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down and still somehow It's cloud's illusions I recall I really don't know clouds, at all
  14. Against who?
  15. Got the sun on my shoulders And my toes in the sand Woman's left me for the some other man Aw, but I don't care I'll just dream and stay tan Toss up my heart and see where it lands On and on I just keep on trying And I smile when I feel like dying On and on, on and on, on and on

  17. I am glad that you can still enjoy Bob. I cannot and wish that I could, and this includes the Wolf Brothers. A case can be made that Bob was at his best with Kingfish, who I was lucky enough to see live back in the day. Sometimes I still throw on a Kingfish cd.
  18. They are tremendous because of Kadlecik. Personally, I find Dead and Co. to be unlistenable. Listening to Weir sing is a sad experience. I heard him do New Minglewood Blues and had to shut it off. He sounds like an 80 year old, constipated white rapper. Just pitiful.
  19. Yeah, I saw Steeley Dan at Jones Beach last month and the crowd was mixed in terms of age. This was a bucket list show for me, whereas I always meant to see one of their NYC shows in which they focus on a particular album (my favorite being "Aja"). It was a fantastic show. Fagen sounds the same, the band was spectacular, and the drummer might be the best I ever saw. Fans were talking about him after almost every song. He was playing 10 drums and 5 cymbals and made it look easy. A few years ago I saw Steve Winwood at Foxwoods. He was supposed to appear with Steeley Dan at the show at Jones Beach but he cancelled. He is another musician that I highly recommend. I was disappointed but SD was just so good that it was all cool.
  20. Saint Stephen with a rose In and out of the garden he goes Country garland in the wind and the rain Wherever he goes the people all complain Stephen prospered in his time Well he may, and he may decline Did it matter, does it now? Stephen would answer if he only knew how
  21. I can certainly get Hogboy here in a second. Just give me the word!!! 😃
  22. May God grant him a full and speedy recovery.
  23. Better men have realized alone is not a venture A peaceful man would realize alone is no adventure Just to hide away, hide away He told all his sons of all the antics of adventure Then he told another one who drove himself to drink Not to hide away, hide away Hide away, hide away, hide away, hide away
  24. See the paper layin' on the sidewalk A little music from the house next door So I walk on up to the doorstep Through the screen and across the floor Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze makes me feel fine Blowin' through the jasmine in my mind
