Are you going to be butt hurt and jealous of The Crimson Tide and Coach Saban for the rest of your life, or do you think that the pain will fade some after a few years of futile misery?
-
Several months ago he purchased a house in Florida for approx. 22 million dollars. l heard a rumor of him stepping down a couple of months ago from a guy with big connections to the program. I tried to block it from my mind. Coach Saban was said to make 11.7 million dollars per season. He also owns a hotel and two Mercedes dealerships. He does not need, nor did he do this for the money. Jealous haters will insult Coach Saban but NOBODY in college football history (including Bryant and Paterno) has a record that comes close to his. I've been an Alabama Fan since my father sat me in front of the TV as a little talking about the Crimson Tide and I must say that it has been an almost indescribable pleasure. Saban, with seven, has more national titles than and coach active or inactive. Two active coaches are tied for 2nd place. They have two each. I finally got to fulfill a lifelong dream and went to a game in Tuscaloosa. It cost me several thousand dollars and was worth every penny. Crimson Tide Fans and Bills Fans have a great deal in common. I am talking about pure and unwavering loyalty. After Bear Bryant stepped down the team was not all that good for many years. When Saban came to town fans were waiting for him at the airport and cheering. We all know what happened and I can only imagine the uproar and sadness going on down there now. NOBODY worked harder than Saban. His methods were not a secret, but who would really be willing to work that hard? After winning a title on a Monday Night several years ago he demanded that all of his assistants be at his office on Thursday morning. Coaches did not become assistants at Alabama to have fun. It was demanding, never ending work, but if you are Sarkisian, Kirby, Locksley, Kiffen, Daboll, and countless other former Saban assistants I'm sure they will tell you it was worth it on their way to the bank. Anyway, thanks Coach Saban for your hard work. Through your guidance, many kids stayed out of trouble and are VERY wealthy. I hope to see you on TV as an analyst (making 5 or 10 million per year) but only if you feel up to it. Stay healthy, best wishes to the best ever, and thank you . Its all good my friend. Sorry if I was a tad brusque. As Bills fans we have been stricken by a host of very sad endings. What you are seeing (imho) are defense mechanisims, plain and simple. Josh Allen is great. SO great that anything does seem possible. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Of course. In fact it is way more than enough to make your question that much more puzzling, but hey; GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my small bet in on them winning the Super Bowl. 👍 -

How long have you been a Bills Fan? I mean, do you really need an explanation? Post more often. You will get along well with the fan blamers and fan haters. One is already relating to you quite well in this thread. -

So far away Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore? It would be so fine to see your face at my door Doesn't help to know you're just time away Long ago I reached for you and there you stood Holding you again could only do me good How I wish I could, but you're so far away

Spanish lady comes to me, she lays on me this rose. It rainbow spirals round and round it trembles and explodes. It left a smoking crater of my mind I like to blow away. But the heat came 'round and busted me for smiling on a cloudy day. Comin', comin', comin' around, comin', around, Comin', around, in a circle Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' around, in a circle, Comin', comin', comin' around, comin' in a circle.

Oh well.

I'm surprised that this doesn't happen more often. This act alone used to cost offenders big time in jail.

The above is all true.

LOL I watched that game in a sports bar. RJ was freaking great that day. Tell me, is my memory fading or did he even suffer some sort of injury in that game? I readily admit that I thought RJ was extremely talented and would have a wonderful career. 🙂🙄

Ah but Hurts never got rattled. He also never got emotional during games. He is still like that. And I dare say that although our receivers might not be quite as good as in past seasons (ESPECIALLY the 2020 class with Smith, Waddle, and Metchie), it is hard to rate them with Milroe. And hey, they ARE pretty good. For instance, I think that Jermaine Burton would likely be a #1 pick with ANY of our previous four QBs. I am just hoping for an honest competition at QB next season. If Milroe is all that, he should just declare for the draft, no?

Good article, thank you. As @Simon stated in his post, quarterback made the biggest difference, and I very much agree. I think that Hurts, Tua, Mac, or Bryce would have had better results but again, the better team won. The good news is that many of these big time recruits have barely played. For instance, they have a lb named Quandarius Robinson who looked great in his few appearances, and might be one of the best special teams gunners I have ever seen. Another LB Jihad Campbell looked like a future star on his limited plays. They also got two 5 stars from the portal who jumped ship from Texas A&M. Bama should be OK for a while, especially if the QB issue gets fixed.

Any Predictions For Today? Here Are Mine.......
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in College Football
I completely agree. I have been skeptical of Milroe since before the season started. There is a 5 star (Ty Simpson) sitting on the bench who I hoped would start. He admittedly came from a small HS in Tennessee which does make the already HUGE and difficult transition from high school to the University of Alabama ever more difficult. I hope that Simpson does not hit the portal. They even have another 5 star from California (Justin Sayin) who is already working out with the team. After Hurts, Tua, Mac, and Bryce, it was very tough from day one to not be skeptical of Milroe. Simon, this was Milroe's third season at Alabama. Hurts came in and started immediately and was more advanced mentaly than Milroe is today. Tua came in polished and ready. Mac (say what you want about him) sat 2 years. In his third year he went undefeated against an all SEC schedule and won a title. (OK, he had perhaps the best offense of all time but still). Bryce won the Heissman after sitting behind Mac. Hurts was a 2nd round pick, the rest were 1st rounders. Btw it should be noted that the 2023 Alabama defense was clearly superior to the defenses of the afforementioned teams, thus making life easier for Milroe. If Milroe declares for the draft (which sadly he says that he will not), in what round would he be drafted in this qb driven NFL? 3rd? 4th? 5th? You tell me. Could he have some success on a team stacked with receivers like the Dolphins? Maybe, but he is not especially accurate so I'm not at all certain. Again, I offer no excuses for this game. Michigan made a couple of serious mistakes. They overcame them and beat us (something that almost never occurs with Saban teams). My congrats go out to Michigan, their fans, and yes, Coach Harbaugh. I hope that they win the title. -
Congrats to all Michigan fans. No excuses offered, Alabama was simply outplayed and frankly; the score didn't really reflect the game. Michigan was the clear winner. I think that Saban did well to lead the team this far given the somewhat shaky QB situation. Once again, The Crimson Tide looks very good going ito 2024. It will be very interesting to see how the QB situation is handled. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!

Well, I am glad that I did post a disclaimer LOL. No excuses here, Alabama was outplayed. Our QB was no match for Michigan's very stout defense. Congrats to both the Wolverines and their fans.
