  1. This is because their inexperienced, overmatched coach was going with the hurry up far too often. This with a rookie OC, rookie qbs, and a bigger than average offensive line. Not a promising scenario, no?
  2. Jackie Robinson had to gut it out sans a huge cadre of support. It isn't that way this time. In fact, I am thinking that a vast majority of football fans either don't care at all or support him. Sam will be able to portray himself as a modern day Jackie Robinson. Good for him, but it just isn't the case imo. As for my stance on the "issue," I am glad that he is entitled to announce what he does and how he feels. Good for him. What scares me is that in a 100% hypothetical scenario, if AJ McCarron announced that he is against gay marriage because of his religion, picket lines and boycotts would not surprise me. My analogy might be bad, but my point is that I believe in people being able to express their views without being denigrated. So, congrats to Sam. Is he Jackie Robinson? I don't think so.
  3. Many said the same thing about Losman. And btw, I said it about Rob Johnson.
  4. Years ago there was a poster with a suicidal screen name that I wish I could remember. He was having an intelligent discussion here with a poster called "Pass the Pipe." It was great! The "Pills and Bills" name does evoke images of a depressed Bills Fan watching the game with a six pack, a couple of Prozacs and yes, blood pressure medication. And yes, we are getting older. If you see someone called "20 mg. Zocor from NYC," it will be me with a new screen name.
  5. Badol, since I am reading this on a computer screen and not at one of our tailgates, I am going on my gut that the above are serious comments, all true I might add. And it doesn't even take into account Levy's 2006 draft, which was unthinkably bad. As awful as anything one could imagine, except perhaps his hiring of Jauron. That said, when I finished reading this, for some reason I started laughing. It struck me that being a Bills Fan, while not for the timid, involves as much comedy as pain. We have a new poster with the screen name, "Pills and Bills." This says a great deal, no? Screw it. I'm gonna watch free agency, hope for a good draft, and keep on going. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. In that time span, how many of our head coaches went on to be a head coach at another team?
  7. I am just so sorry. My prayers continue.
  8. The only thing I must add there is that I am strongly of the opinion that the Bills liked another qb (Geno Smith?) as much as they liked EJ. I am unable to see this as not being true. If you were a GM and you thought a QB was head and shoulders above the rest, would you trade back 8 spots and risk losing him? I surely would not.
  9. I do not dispute the above at all Doc. But I also think that Thad is not at his ceiling either. He stepped up and played fairly well last season and I for one think that he earned himself a place in the NFL. The Bills 'franchise qb" went down and there was no real difference. I am hoping that the Bills do not trade him but in a hypothetical situation, if the Bills draft a young qb this spring and he looks good, I wouldn't take less than a 4th round pick.
  10. This is something that gets lost around here imo. I think that now, right now, Lewis is a better qb than EJ, or at the very least as good. This SHOULD be a concern to Bills Fans. The Bills would be nuts to not draft another QB next season. And if they truly do like a player, they should do it in round 1.
  11. Hey, screw this topic. I want to offer my congrats for a GREAT screen name!!! I am the last person on earth to advocate illegal drug use, but what a name!!! It sends images of a suffering fan taking prescribed anti-depressants after the Atlanta game! We used to have a poster (and he seemed to be fairly informed) who called himself, "Pass the Pipe." I haven't seen him in a while. In any event, welcome to the board.
  12. I am a Tide Fan and have seen most of Mosley's games. I for one think that he was better as a senior. In previous seasons he was more of a coverage lb as far as I could tell. Last season he was a complete linebacker. He reminds me a lot of Kiko. That said, #9 seems too early to draft him. If the Bills stay where they are I hope that they take a qb, pass rusher, or an OT. If they trade down, guards, tight ends and linebackers become more appealing.
  13. Is he from the Herm Edwards learning tree?
  14. All true, but it would be truly GREAT to have him "in place" if you know what I mean......
  15. Kirby Smart or Wade. Edit: Actually, I think that Smart deserves a separate spot on this poll.
  16. Next winter we will more than likely be looking for a head coach.
  17. Mike, assuming that Wade is telling the truth and would return to Buffalo, would Brandon be willing to pay him twice as much as any other candidate? I get the feeling that Wade would cost that much, and btw he would be WELL worth it. Kirby Smart is the DC of the Tide. He turned down at least 1 head coaching offer in college, and is the highest paid coordinator in the NCAA. Saban just signed an extension. Would Smart take the job? Again, I am sure that he would command a very big salary.
  18. 100% agree!!!!! It is also worthy to point out that he made approx. 30 million dollars playing in Buffalo. He rewarded us with few game changing plays and a couple of off field incidents. Whitner was smart enough to promote himself and make the cash. Levy/Jauron were inept enough to draft him at #8 and set this team and it's great fan base many years. Good riddance to this sub-par ingrate. Seriously.
  19. Neither am I, but he played his ass off from day 1, is a rookie (used to a shorter season), and he isn't very big. I hope he puts on just a bit of weight. The kid can flat out play.
  20. Pettine. Not the biggest fan of polls but this one was a great idea.
  21. I get what you are saying, and I don't advocating hating players. Yes, Whitner was a better player than those you list above, no doubt. The problem was that the Bills took him at #8. Was this Donte's fault? Of course not. The thing is (in my opinion) the Whitner selection was emblematic of exactly what is wrong with this team. The 2006 draft was literally stacked with talented players that the Bills desperately needed. And Levy said that he had MULTIPLE offers to trade down. Instead, they stayed put and selected a small, decent safety who btw was the 2nd safety selected in that draft. And btw, mistakes on top 10 picks were VERY costly in those days. Whitner cost the Bills more than Andrew Luck will cost the Colts in terms of their first contracts. Levy and Jauron destroyed this team as soon as they got here but again.....they didn't hire themselves.
  22. I agree 100%. Sad but true. And let's not forget that Marrone has connections to Brandon.
