Josh Allen: Assistant Offensive Coordinator?
Fan in Chicago replied to BigAl2526's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes it happened - a monumentally stupid coaching decision to plan for a no huddle offense with the personnel at hand. To this day, I haven't understood what Jauron saw in the players you think this would work. It failed, miserably -

Allen frequently reminds me of the X-Files episode "The Unnatural". -

YouTube TV - NFL Sunday Ticket question
Fan in Chicago replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
You will need some other medium to watch the other games like locally broadcasted ones, Thursday night, Sunday night and MNF. There is no other (legal) way. I too have only subscribed to NFLST and will sign up for YouTube TV starting Sept 10 till the Championship round on Jan 28 -
Ezekiel Elliot to Pats on 1 year up to $6 million deal
Fan in Chicago replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sometimes I think I was educated in a different language "Worth up to equals there are incentives in Ezekiel Elliott's deal with the Patriots." -
Will JA play in preseason games? McD provides an update
Fan in Chicago replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have tickets to that game too. My daughter gifted a pair to my wife and me. Maybe we can see each other that day -
Much as I thought about Edmunds, I want to see an entire season and post season worth of performance in his walk year to make a decision. I dont want Beane to sign him earlier under the fear of him being too expensive next offseason. Worst case, he excels this season, brings up his catch % and becomes too expensive for the Bills. And then the Bills are in the market for a #2, which I am fine with. We havent seen the consistency from Davis to do an early renewal of contract.

Depends on who is available from the other side. If a WR or RT is available, I wouldnt mind trading a Epenesa, Phillips. If by some miracle a Jeudy type WR is available, make even Elam available. If its just to cash in on intense depth, then a good draft pick would be better

As a draft philosophy, I agree not to focus on the position. But McBeane prioritizing O this year was the right thing to do. I would have been fine if they would have flip flopped the positions drafted in Rd 1 and 2 if the draft fell that way. Also, Kincaid was not picked at their original draft position but via a small move up - which means they didnt draft just any pass catcher who was available at their own draft position. It just so happened that a BPA at position of need was available very close to their pick position. Which is fine, imo.

What team has the best NFL message board in the world?
Fan in Chicago replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's one of the reasons this board is fantastic. The members posted fervently even during the sad sack years. Go ahead and list the better boards with reasons why -
I searched and couldnt find the top 10 list (perhaps because it aired today?). Diggs at #16 sounds fair A-a-ron Donald at #11 is low

THANKS for 25 years of the Stadium Wall, TBD!
Fan in Chicago replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Little did I know back in 1998 that this forum will not only survive but thrive through all the ups and downs. Cheers to @SDS and all of us who make this a vibrant community. I am drinking a bourbon to the next 25 years -
Tall order for a TE to have highest receiving yards. I understand that the WR class was not great but if one of them turns out to be a hit, it is typically easier for that WR to rack up yards compared to a TE. But if Kincaid somehow achieves that distinction, it will be fantastic for the Bills O. I have my expectations at 60 / 700 / 8 because as a true blue beaten Bills fan for 30+ years, I have learned to temper my expectations of any player

Belichick on the hot seat in N.E.
Fan in Chicago replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont disagree because I dont have any data to suggest otherwise. But I was giving BB the benefit of the doubt. -
Is Gabe Davis a trade candidate?
Fan in Chicago replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another thought came to mind - the signing of Isabella, a serious underproducer and interest in another underperformer (NKeal Harry) gives a clear signal that McBeane are not happy with the WR room. Which itself is a good sign because they are at least indirectly acknowledging it. Neither Isabella nor Harry can be expected to be that "missing piece" but at least the effort is there. Perhaps they keep trying and stumble across a John Brown who would greatly help in a spot role. -

If BB is fired after this season, he would not retire. He would want to pull of the coaching equivalent of Brady - winning a Superbowl with another team. Given his age, the only way he does that is going to a team with a good QB already on board. Which would be a rare situation. Plus it is certain that the new team would only want him as a HC and not influence the draft board. Tough all the way around for BB. -
Is Gabe Davis a trade candidate?
Fan in Chicago replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed on this. (you are saying this too) We cannot depend on our low draft picks Shorter or Shavers to make a positive impact this season. We would have won the lottery if one of them somehow surprise us . After all it has been a long time since one of our low draft picks rose to starter status - Kyle Williams was one, Benford is trending that way. But, expecting Shorter or Shavers to be good, in their rookie years, is too much and not conducive to a strategy. -

His teams do over achieve their roster and there is proof of that. There are very few coaches who have won it all with sub-par QB talent. So, I am not totally dismissing his skills as a HC. His teams are well prepared and rarely do gaffes in big games. Brady is in a different tier but he rode that horse for more wins than another coach would have. Just imo on that last part. -

Yes, that too. But I dont know the inner workings of the Patriots** organization to know if those choices were his decisions alone.
