  1. I didn't even know there was a surprise ending before I watched it. I enjoyed* the movie and it would have been good even without that ending. *I use the word 'enjoy' very loosely in this context.
  2. I was quite disappinted with Crash. I rented it due to the topics it was supposed to cover and found it to be too contrived. The movie did not develop naturally and felt like a hodge-podge of sequences which have racial overtones to them. It also seemed to imply that everyone is a racist in some shape or form. If that is the premise then I question where normal human tendencies stop and the label of racism begins.
  3. Definitely start of "Football players behaving badly"
  4. So there was no widespread boards and places for fans to express themselves to call it 'running him out of town'. But fact is they thought he was a punk and would never take the NFL seriously. If we let KH play out the rest of this season, it will be no different than Favre with Atlanta.
  5. Given the talent or lack-thereof on the OL, it may be good to dumb down the offense and see what happens. I think the coaches are getting too creative and ambitious with a green QB and poor OL talent. This is simply compounding the problem. I still think our Miami win had nothing to do with the QB switch.
  6. Probably not. We will collectively run him out of town as Atlanta did Favre. JP will go to Green Bay, get mentored by red-shorts himself and give them a franchise QB for the next 10 years. That would be my bet.
  7. Don't know about him, but I have two and I still agree with him. What's your point ?
  8. This one gets my vote for post of the day !
  9. I don't see a similar game. Arguably, Miami planned for JP for the first 10 days or so and then got KH. Jets will plan for KH all the way. The only way we win is if we run well and get some turnovers. Don't expect a good day through the air. Hopefully the 12th man helps enough for us to pull out a win.
  10. We also have not had a consistent line this year with injuries to CV and MW. Even with the players we have, if there was some consistency, the line would gel and WM would get a feel for who is blocking and where the holes are/will be. He is currently on pace for a 1,500 yard season and that is plenty good considering the OL talent on average.
  11. First I disagree that the Steelers will not miss a beat. Even though they have an offensive line, a big, accurate, scrambling passer like BR makes defenses plan differently. And I do agree with the smash mouth stuff. Bettis really is money on 3rd and short.
  12. Link ? I cringed when I saw that hit - he was planting his leg just as a defender fell helmet first on the knee (Ouch !).
  13. Yes, but several other coaches have achieved a turnaround also. That what-was-his-name took the Raiders to the SB right after Gruden quit. Doesn't make him a good coach. My point simply is that he is no more exceptional now than several other coaches
  14. Haven't heard the conference. So it appears he doesn't entirely agree with your assessment about DB ?
  15. 'Our time' does not cut it any more. He hasn't really done much recently and seems to be riding the wave of his success from 15 years back.
  16. Okay- I think the one essential ingredient he misses is playing well in big games.
  17. Same is NOT true of Brett Favre, Troy Aikman and Tom Brady. All are accurate passers and have led their teams to SB victories in the same era that you are mentioning. So, you cannot point to some cases while ignoring the others. Bottom line though is that the QB by himself cannot lead a team to a SB victory. Contrary to today's feel good posts - I do not think we are playoff ready as a team. I am very happy about yesterday's win but let us not get the illusion that we can beat any team in the league today.
  18. I am not with you on this.
  19. I am not arguing against that but I thought the point of his post was that Favre is struggling because of a crappy O-line. I think either (1) The panthers went too much into prevent mode or (2) Favre is so good that he can overcome the O-line deficiencies or (3) it was a bad example to make his point. And Dan, again I am not arguing that point at all. Simply pointing out the flaw in using the example he did. Considering what we have right now - a collectively sucky team, it would be great if atleast JP put up some numbers. We would have something to cheer for (apart from WM running well).
  20. You might want to re-phrase that
  21. morbid, but funny anyway. Remind you of Killdrive yet ?
  22. Still threw 4 TDs last night.
  23. Good thought in general. I think it may be better to make one change at a time. Else it will take forever for the line to gel (if they ever will).
  24. At this point in time, our offense makes every defense look like the 1985 Bears and our D makes every O look like the 1994 Cowboys.
  25. Yes, Dan I did. 'Cos I am at my (limited) wit's end about how a team that finished so strong last year can sink to such depths by subtracting PW, JJ and DB. Mostly same personnel and same coaches ...
