While I don't particularly enjoy re-hashing the same discussion over and over again, the question raised by the OP is legitimate and should be on several people's mind. First of all, this may be his make or break year. Eli Manning blossomed in his 4th year but I don't believe we have that luxury. The reason is that we have beefed up our lines in this year's draft and do not expect them to be dominating this year. So next year will be when we make a serious run at going deep in the playoffs. Trent has to show significant progress this year to show that he is capable of taking the team to the next level. Results so far have been mixed and this year there should be no excuses. Unless ofcourse our OL is a sieve and he gets bashed out of his mind due to lack of adequate protection.
Secondly, questioning our players ability does not make one any less of a fan than someone who supports them without analysis. Lastly, we are all behind him - the skeptics and fanboys alike. Wondering what the team does should he fail does not imply I do not support him.
