Thoughts on who will coach Jets in 2015
Fan in Chicago replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering how Cutler plays, it is hardly an indictment of Trestman. Cutler's reputation as a coach killer is building but the Bears may have painted themselves into a corner by signing him to that huge contract. -
byrd rated as biggest free agent flop on NFL.com

I am definitely not ashamed to say that I was one of those wanting to retain him BUT at a reasonable price. If memory serves me correctly, I had pegged his value at 6-7 MM per year all in. I think the fact that he got injured or that he did not have enough playing time in the D to get his bearings does not change the fact that he was a good safety and one that we could have kept intact. Levitre and Byrd are ones I wanted the Bills to keep despite the opinions regarding their post-Bills careers. Both players made the Bills better. Just not at the price they got in the open market. I can flip that argument around and say that he is great for his clients. He hyped up and negotiated his way to a huge contract for Byrd. Well maybe not all his clients, but he certainly gets top dollar for his highly prized free agents. -

What Would You Give Up for Brady?
Fan in Chicago replied to rfk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"I would literally rather have the Bills miss the playoffs with Kyle Orton than win the Superbowl with Tom Brady," "No it's not a joke thing to say." The above are your words. And you are pointing to "you have brain damage" as an example of bad grammar ? And retorting with "Keep up those witty one-liners, champ." as a comeback ? -

Home field "advantage"? Game forecast....

Our D is. In fact, if it does rain, I expect Spikes' snap count to go up. But, our O with KO at the helm hasn't been tested enough in many situations to know one way or the other. -

I think wet weather favors the team that runs and kicks better. So thats what this thread was all about - just something to make you feel better, therapy. -
True. Guy peaked at the right time in both SB campaigns but for most of his career, he has been mediocre and unable to raise the offense over the sum of its parts. Very glaring disparity in career performance versus # of rings. In a way, he is the anti-Peyton who seems to be opposite - great stats but choker(ish) in big games.

Are you thinking of Sam Aiken ?

Some superlative throws by Ben on that third TD drive Moats with a sack.

In other news, Flacco is color blind.

Depends on the road you want to travel. If you are wanting to cheer for someone, Ravens may be better

While I fully agree with playing to your strengths and masking weak areas, I am not too hot on this 'offensive identity' stuff. I want our offense to be versatile (which I believe we are) and flexible. Saying and sticking to 'we are a run first team' or equivalent does not factor in the strength of the opposition and the game situation. Maybe the Jets game was an extreme example of plenty of turnovers by the opposition and weak QB play but it does serve to indicate that we have to be able to do offense according to what the opponent is good or weak at. Sure we have some weaknesses but in general we are very balanced on both O and D. I think with continued steady QB play and IF we improve the interior of the O, we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs while taking out some big names in the process. But both the above are very big IFs.

Yo Simon !! Hit and run is not fair. You started this with an analytical post, got us posters all happy and bitchy then you disappear again. Come back and finish the discussion. BTW, no words on the QB situation ?

I have watched Cam off and on. Besides his crazy jumping around in the pre-season game, the 'Donkey Kong Suh' press conference and his actual QB play, I must say he doesn't appear to be from the 'franchise QB' mold. While the plan looked brutal, it is commendable that they pulled both games off rather convincingly. Their second half performance in both games was pretty good. But I think they did better in the Packers game considering they faced Rodgers.

Welcome back, Simon.

Gerald McCoy contract --> Dareus
Fan in Chicago replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on how we used that saved money. Too often have the Bills 'saved' money by not retaining players only to not use that money in the future years either. We have a lot of very good players on D and it will be interesting to see where the FO decides to spend the money. As I said in a different thread, in a twisted way, its 'good' we don't have to spend too much for a franchise QB. -
