  1. Precisely my thought. If they hired a new-to-the-position DC, Marrone would have had to do a lot of over-sight, which may have been too much considering he is rather green himself at his position. Advantage of this kind of hire (coordinator to HC to coordinator) is that if he does well, there is little chance he will leave to be a HC, having already failed in that job.
  2. Brief note on this hire and I havent had a chance to go through the entire thread. The Bills need experience in coaching positions. Imho, they could ill afford to go with a fresh DC. Schwartz will have talent at his disposal. While the O staff learns, it was imperative that the D continue under an experienced had. Schwartz gives is DC experience.
  3. Rob Johnson, JP, Trent. Bunch of choices to teach our young guys what not to do.
  4. Is Giselle going to have another meltdown?
  5. Broncos better not turn the ball over . Close this game out, Denver!
  6. Which calls have unfavorably gone in favor of the Broncos?
  7. But, but the Pats* can plug anyone in without missing a beat ! A TD here can seal the game. Just dont make a mistake.
  8. I agree. Pats* ego at work there
  9. What a game by Knighton. Love the pounding the Pats* are taking. Come on Denver, don't blow it now
  10. http://www.nfl.com/player/eddielacy/2540168/profile You can say that again
  11. Eddie Lacy ran for 1178 yards. Starks added almost 500. GB was the #7 rushing team in the regular season. What is your point ? Eddie Lacy ran for 1178 yards. Starks added almost 500. GB was the #7 rushing team in the regular season. What is your point ?
  12. On the D, we are close to having playoff-caliber talent. Better LB and depth is required to make a deep run. But our O needs a lot of work and much hinges on the QB position. Where I am going with this angle is that, as thebandit said, we need to improve overall so that we can dictate terms or at the very least, have the talent to make in-game adjustments to counter what the Pats* are throwing at you. If you build a team to beat the Pats*, we can go very very far.
  13. I like Indian gravies based on these ingredients so I may be a bit biased. But if you can handle coconut, you can look for recipes which call for it. There are coconut milk cans instead of having to grate your own. But that is a different style of cooking with mellow flavor Dammit, beat me to it.
  14. Indeed. Broadly - Most restaurant food in the US is of the North Indian variety. The 'tandoor' and 'tikka' dishes qualify as such. South Indian generally tend towards the dosas (crepes), idlis, vadas with sambar. In West, there are more variety in veggies and lentils with a heavy influence of coconut East also has coconut bases with more fish dishes Good advice in your overall post. Another reference is a celebrity chef called Sanjeev Kapoor http://www.sanjeevkapoor.com/. He tends to be a bit 'showy' so don't get intimidated by the presentation etc.
  15. I agree with us needing a LB but WR need is also strong so I would take the best among those two positions when we pick. But, I did want to make a point about this talk about 'pats* are now a running team'. They are chameleons and will play to their match-ups that particular weekend. Much as I hate them, I think they do a great job in identifying and exploiting opposing weaknesses. If they see Champ Bailey as too slow and old, rest assured Brady will come out airing it out. Denver better make sure they have their D tooled to pressure from the inside and contain the edges.
  16. That is one of my favorites too. There is a lot you can do on the grill with Indian spices and meat. Just need a little imagination and experimentation.
  17. Cool. I recall a brief discussion a few years back but I forgot who the desis are around here. Got to keep this place safe from the culinary bigots like DC Tom and ExiledInIllinois. I doubt it. American cuisine hadn't reached India's shores when these recipes were developed.
  18. My wife will probably spend hours and cook up 10 dishes with those ingredients. But let me give it a try. (I am assuming about 2 lb of bone-in chicken) Mix yogurt, turmeric, chili powder, cumin seeds, lemon juice and salt. Make small slits in the chicken and apply the above as marinade. Cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours. Fine chop 1-2 onion, 2 tomatoes, few cloves of garlic and some ginger (you can use ginger-garlic paste if you have it). Shallow fry onions on slow to medium flame till translucent, add garlic and ginger, continue frying. Not sure what spices you have, but do not use garam masala unless you have nothing else. (ideal is chicken curry or chicken tikka masala powder from local Indian grocer. Probably costs less than $2). When fragrant, add tomatoes and continue cooking till tomatoes are soft. Then add chicken (dont take yougurt off the chicken). The yogurt gives good consistency and creaminess without needing cream. Add water (not too much), cover and cook till chicken is done. Switch off flame and add finely chopped cilantro on top. Let sit for 5-10 minutes and eat with naan and/or rice. NOte that carry out Indian has way too much oil and/or cream. In general, Americans have gotten used to this type of cooking. Don't be disappointed if it doesnt have the richness of carry out. You will get more flavor out of the above recipe and will be definitely healthier. Normal, home cooked Indian meals use little oil and cream (unless the dish calls for deep frying). Hope it works for you.
  19. I really wish and hope he gets in. As an aside, can you imagine how long it is going to be before another Bill is voted to the HOF ?
  20. Not sure, at this point, which is more depressing - the way we lost or the realization that it is 2014 and it was our last playoff game.
  21. - 15 F yesterday morning and -11 F this morning when I left for work (wind chill made it well below -30 F). It was a short, but cooollllld walk from train to work.
  22. This statement I agree with. Bills will do themselves a great disservice if they go into camp without a viable option. They have to set a firm floor to QB performance.
  23. This thread is too long to look. But, has anyone reminded those saying that ST teams are not important how the Bills lost their last playoff appearance ?
  24. True , but I for one am not giving the FO a free pass with a hypothesis that a good FA we needed didnt want to come here. Thats equivalent to saying that poor teams will never get better through free agency. I just dont buy it.
