  1. http://gossipextra.c...h-florida-2700/ The alleged vic was a friend of Hernandez. Didn't want to press charges or ID him as the shooter. Sounds like he wanted to be paid off for losing an eye. The suit was just filed 6 days ago, which is why it hadn't come out sooner.
  2. Now even more ugliness is coming out. Can't hide public records. Hernandez was sued this year for shooting someone in the face. http://www.tmz.com/category/tmzsports
  3. WCVB Boston is reporting that the victim has been ID's as semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. http://www.wcvb.com/news/local/boston-south/new-england-patriots-aaron-hernandez-questioned-by-police-in-homicide-investigation/-/9848842/20626584/-/7kp6ez/-/index.html The connection to Hernandez? Lloyd's family told WBZ-TV in Boston that he dated the sister of Aaron Hernandez's girlfriend.
  4. Greg Bedard of SI is all over this on Twitter. According to his report, police waited until Hernandez got home this evening to execute a search warrant. 2 men in the house tried to leave, but are now in the back of police cruisers being taken away.
  5. Maybe some of the vets have been on a dysfunctional team for too long, but I certainly support a coach who demands his players treat his teammates and the game with respect.
  6. Considering Marrone's demeanor at Syracuse, I don't think he is one to throw around complements lightly.
  7. I think the only effective way to grade a draft is 2 or 3 years later. Before a guy has even played a single down in the NFL, it's a pure guesswork to predict how he'll perform. Remember how the draft experts thought Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russel, and Andre Ware were awesome first round picks?
  8. I hope all these so-called experts at ESPN are wrong about this pick. Wouldn't be the first time. I hope my initial reaction, that it was a reach, was wrong too. The Bills identified the guy they wanted, but still had the stones to trade down to add a good lb too. Just hope Kolb can give Manuel time to learn how to read and react to pro defenses.
  9. Yep. And the more I think about it, the less critical I am of the Bills identifying what they want in a QB in Manuel, drafting him, and still getting LB help by trading down in the first round. They didn't play it safe with this pick, and Manuel has the physical attributes that a QB needs in the pro game. Kool Aid and humble pie. What a combo.
  10. Marrone should be very familiar with Woods. He roasted the SU defense when the Orange played USC last fall. this was the next best WR after Austin in this year's draft IMO
  11. Judging by the laughs I've heard from Patriots fans this morning, I'd say our AFC East foes are thrilled with this pick. Really. Keep drinking the Kool Aid y'all. Bless your hearts.
  12. Hated this pick. A team with desperate needs like the Bills shouldn't use their first pick on someone who is going to spend their first year holding a clipboard, especially when he was likely to be there in the 2nd or third round. You take the best athlete available in the first and take a "prospect" like this later. But don't worry, most Bills fans have probably already convinced themselves this was a brilliant pick instead of one that will ensure another year of fail.
  13. I disagree. The difference being that a hand doesn't have a spiked cleat on it. And A straight arm hits someone above the waist ....not in a vulnerable area like the knee.
  14. SportsCenterVerified‏@SportsCenter JUST IN - Tom Brady is being reviewed by league officials for his slide/kick in AFC Championship (via @Edwerderespn)
  15. Patriots fans had their standard comeback last night that they use after every playoff loss: "Oh yeah, well Tawm Brady gets ta go home and bang his supahmodel wife, so theyah."
  16. As much as I agree with what Suggs said, I think trash talking should stay on the field. Running your mouth through the media is classless. And Belichick is as much of a classless jerk every time he runs off the field after a loss and refuses to speak to sideline reporters.
  17. This will surprise no one, but not a single media outlet in Boston is talking about it today.
  18. The Patriots haven't won the Super Bowl since spygate. Worth considering, don't you think?
  19. Syracuse rushed for 376 yards, but Nassib still managed to throw for 2 touchdowns in a snowstorm. So yeah, real subpar game for him
  20. I like Nassib. He's not a big guy, but he's a tough kid. He's taken two huge head on hits today, and only missed one play. He's a decent pocket passer. Not sure if he could start right away at the NFL level, but whatever team gets him is going to like him.
  21. I would not be surprised to see Spiller end up at the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement.
  22. The Bills have to stop taking other team's sloppy seconds to play quarterback. They already have a problem starting a career backup who can't throw accurately on a consistent basis. OTOH, this just might be the organization dysfunctional enough to make this move.
