  1. Not much left to do other than restructure Josh and potentially Von’s $7m roster bonus. And Beane clearly likes to wait to do those things until he needs them to sign someone. Don’t have to be cap compliant until Wednesday and tampering period starts Monday. Beane has become a master of manipulating agents, players and fans that he has no cap space but he usually finds it for the players he wants.
  2. Kind of humorous how Beane refuses to show Bills have any cap space by waiting a week to convert the $7m roster bonus.
  3. It’s based solely on the previous year, which is why it’s a popular cap tool for guys who were hurt the year before.
  4. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/von-millers-gets-back-to-17-5-million-with-10-5-sacks That all looks like not likely to be earned since he had zero sacks last year.
  5. It’s also a good way to tell agents I only have this much to spend.
  6. Running Back market this year might rival it.
  7. Sounds like he’s gonna get paid by Chicago.
  8. Can do a lot worse with your backup CB
  9. They probably sign Fatukasi or Jones before free agency, bring back Ty Johnson, then sign a WR like Bourne and a starting caliber safety in free agency then wait to see who they draft before dipping back into free agency
  10. Maybe this puts some pressure on daquan Jones to make a decision, but it’s gotta be hard to convince a guy who played for over $10m per year the last 2 seasons to take a deal in the $3-4m range which I guess is what Beane wound want him for. I’d be surprised if we don’t draft a 1 tech this year also.
  11. Between von gifting Beane $14m in cap space and the unexpected extra $13m in cap space, our whole off-season outlook has changed.
  12. I’m siding with over the cap here over spotrac. Not sure how a guy who had 1 tackle all season has any likely to be earned incentives.
  13. Depending on how many years they’re amortizing the $7m, that could be a $14m cap savings in 2024. We could already be zero over the cap with another $10m coming from Tre on June 1.
  14. Hynes is still there though. So probably closer to $15m over right now. And if Beane is cutting Poyer and Morse, gotta think Tre and Von don’t survive.
  15. Probably too proud to take a paycut which I get, but our safeties lacked range and play making ability last year.
  16. Interesting. Maybe they wanna see how he plays at safety before they sign him to an extension, but don’t wanna get rid of him in case Elam flops.
  17. Pretty safe to say Chicago is only team in NFL who would’ve given up a 5th rounder for Bates. There’s seriously people upset about trading a guy making $4m per year who got demoted to 35 snaps last year? Maybe Beane can get pick #9 from the Bears for Diggs.
  18. Agreed. I assume we’ll hear about Morse’s $8.5m this year being restructured into the future.
  19. Would love Evans. He’s a legit #1 WR. Only way it would make sense though is if somebody gives us a 1st rounder or high 2nd rounder for Diggs in the next 10 days.
  20. Those are heights are close enough to what they’d be in shoes/cleats. Worthy and Franklins weights more concerning.
  21. This is a great point. In addition, with all the QB injuries the competition committee is talking about altering grounding rules to allow QB’s to throw it away even when they’re in the pocket. That would make high sack edge rushers less valuable.
  22. Agreed. Weight is a legit concern but dude is a unicorn. You don’t see guys that big who move that well. And it’s not just about straight line speed like Jordan Davis from Georgia. Sweat is a good athlete that makes plays.
  23. Agreed. I’d rather draft one early and sign a vet to a 1 year deal who’s been the dude before like OBJ or Mike Williams than pay $8-10m a year for another mediocre guy like Gabe.
  24. Surprised OBJ hasn’t appeared on anybody’s list. He’d probably come cheap on a 1 year deal and probably still has something left as a deep ball threat.
  25. Acquiring team would owe Mack $23m. That’s steep for a 33 year old. 6 of his 17 sacks came in 1 game. I’d think he’s looking more at a 1 year Leonard Floyd deal than anybody paying $23m for 1 year.
