Cris Collinsworth is an employee and he goes where he’s told. He also goes to the best game available to NBC from a financial perspective. Let’s see the overnight ratings for the GB a game. If they’re good, and they beat what NBC expects for SF/LAC, then we might get flexed.

Poyer elbow injury (update: “day-to-day”)
SectionC3 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
If it’s good news I think we’ll hear about it today. If it’s bad news we probably won’t hear anything until Beane decides whether he wants to upgrade in Poyer’s absence via trade (and, if so, until he acts on that). -
Agreed. There was a rope a dope element to last night, too. I think we traded field goals to start the second half, at the expense of about 10 minutes of clock. Sitting (standing) in the stadium I figured they either hate their receivers, were terrified of Allen, or were gambling that eventually Jones would get loose and bust a long one. (A different opponent might have made me question whether the stuff is out to lunch, but LaFleur is no dummy.) I don’t think Edmunds was great last night, but that was big boy football and he was part of a lot of collisions. That kind of violence does not lend itself to a perfect game.

Poyer elbow injury (update: “day-to-day”)

And jaquan Johnson hasn’t been all that great. If the poyer injury is serious then it’s time to look for an upgrade -
This. To beat us with this game plan the opposition has to be perfect. Score TDs in red zone. Turnovers. Win fourth down. Get a special teams play. Hold Bills offense to probably 24 or less. Sure, it was a little frustrating to watch Aaron Jones run wild. But let’s not forget he is a really, really good back and all that GB accomplished last night by running as much as they did was to burn the clock while they were behind. One of the best backs I’ve seen in person. He played big boy football yesterday. Our LBs are going to be sore today.

Poyer elbow injury (update: “day-to-day”)

The last touchdown in particularly never should have happened. -
One scores touchdowns. The other doesn’t. If this proposed trade would present a cap savings, then it’s not the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. Personally, I wouldn’t do it. But I see the logic with the play of Jackson, Elam, and Benford, and White’s injury, and his cap hit. Not to mention McCaffrey’s potential in the slot. Again, it’s not something that I would do. But I understand the logic behind the thought.

Champ Bailey and Clinton Portis might see it differently.

All-22 Grades for Bills/Chiefs (The Athletic)
SectionC3 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t usually pay attention to or quibble with stuff like this, because it’s just noise. (I like reading it, but I wouldn’t comment about it or get worked up about it.) I have to say, though, I don’t know on what planet Isaiah McKenzie played an average game that merited a C grade. Sunday was not a good (or even average) day for him. -
Is Dan Snyder blackmailing the NFL and it’s owners?
SectionC3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope. And far worse than what Russ Brandon is alleged to have done. -
Is Dan Snyder blackmailing the NFL and it’s owners?
SectionC3 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Somebody want a bomb? I’ll give it to them. Or at least allude to its existence. Take it for what it’s worth. This isn’t message board BS. There’s a horrible story floating around town about somebody who is not associated with the Bills but who might be a blackmail target in a scenario such as this one. I’ve heard it from two different people. And it’s worse than anything that Snyder has been accused of doing. I won’t repeat the story because it’s awful and defamatory if not true. But it’s really, really bad, and I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Snyder is digging for stuff like that. -
New offensive wrinkles for the Chiefs defense this week
SectionC3 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
He is their game wrecker. Couldn’t agree more. He gets the Aaron Donald attention from us this week. -
Davonte Adams should be suspended a game
SectionC3 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
No one is going to jail over that in NYS. Hardly anyone, better put. It was a misdemeanor assault. Adams just looks like a jerk, and it’s a bad look for the league that some guy making probably $25 bucks an hour is getting knocked around by a padded, helmeted athlete for no reason. I wonder if that was a NABET union guy and if the NFL is going to hear from organized labor about this. -

Reminiscent of Matt Stafford. Stafford didn’t push the person, of course, but he showed similar indifference. Not cool on either part. -

I manage to not push people in public (and at home) when I get frustrated. I'm sorry that he felt that way, but what he did was wrong and he should answer for it. Life is a matter of degree, and this is not remotely close to some off-field incidents with which the NFL has had to deal. But it was on camera, and in the public eye, and he should be held accountable. -
Bills finally sign a Safety: Jared Mayden
SectionC3 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally agree. I'll add that the kind of crappy part was practicing Bryant all week and then cutting him on Friday. (I believe that's what happened, at least.). I'm not sure if he was paid for last week. -
Sort of. But there were reports that we were going big game hunting on D in FA. Not specific to Miller, to be sure, but those reports were right.

Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
SectionC3 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
The wind has been unusually difficult there for the past two years. Even on quieter days it’s tough for returners there. Had a couple of muffs in the blue and white scrimmages in the past two years. Titans has guys dropping all sorts of stuff in warmups before MNF this year. And that Shakir situation has the ball moving all over the place. -
Hot take: Shakir should be the starting slot receiver going forward
SectionC3 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not perceptible on the broadcast was the impact of the wind on the punt Shakir let go. The wind hung it up and, on the way down, it was moving back toward the LOS. Really want him to make that catch, but it was the right call to bail on that mess. -
I suspect he’ll return more than McCaffrey. And McCaffrey might be the long term play at slot for us were we to make the more. (I know CMC is an RB, but his long term play probably is a slot.)
-
Big time. It was windy. I think the miss to Diggs was influenced by the wind. The Davis INT looked like miscommunication - not a great throw, but live in the stadium it looked like Allen was thinking back shoulder and Davis was thinking something else.

Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
SectionC3 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't be surprised to see us flip the "Cody Ford" pick (a fifth, I know) for help at the deadline. Your suggestion for interior help is a good one. I also wonder if they look at Boettger as that type of addition come the deadline, and spend their capital elsewhere as a need may arise. -
That’s weird. I lived in that building for a bit, too. Small world. I have a great Brian Daboll story that I’ll share someday here. It involves my wife excoriating him (thinking he was a creeper) for circling our neighborhood, a chance encounter at Kone King, and him (jokingly) returning the favor the next summer by Mangia in OP.

A Few Thoughts About the Ravens Game, in no particular order
SectionC3 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I sit on the aisle. Drinking has nothing to do with why everyone stands all the time. It really doesn't. There are people in and out, for sure, but many of them are slobs simply looking to drop $9 on a crappy piece of pizza. The gluttons also aren't the reason people stand all of the time. I have never had a beer or any concession product other than water or hot chocolate in that stadium in over 20 years of attending games in the age of majority. Not one. And I stand all the time. It's just what people do there. Frankly, I think a lot of the standing is borne of the fact that the sideline seats are low to the ground, and the people in the very front have to stand to see over such things as players, security, TV equipment, etc. They also have to stand to get a better (albeit only slightly) view of action across or down the field. Now it has become habit.
