  1. Earlier yesterday, the satellite images for SoCal showed smoke plumes going out hundreds of miles over the ocean. I guess they couldn’t do any airborne firefighting due to the high winds on Tuesday.
  2. Agreed, but my inevitable cursing and temper tantrums as McD takes TOs on defense would frighten/be hard to explain.
  3. San Diego razed the old stadium and NFL already announced Arizona’s stadium will be the venue if they move the game.
  4. Was wondering if this year’s series is any good. Haven’t heard much about it at all.
  5. The Kings postponed their game and it didn’t mention anything to do with the proximity to the wildfires: "In light of the devastating effects of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area, tonight’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames at Crypto.com Arena, NHL Game No. 653, has been postponed," the league said.
  6. Do you know if this has been proven? I can’t imagine Belichick approaching the Jets about a job after that slight. Unless his balls are bigger than his ego….
  7. Does insurance cover these situations?
  8. Sometimes it feels like the concourses are colder than outside. That frozen concrete sucks the warmth right out of you.
  9. So next you’re gonna tell me “No Goal” was a goal??
  10. Denver’s D allows 47% red zone TDs. Buffalo 57%. Strength vs strength in several areas.
  11. It was crazy how the wildfires in Canada a couple years ago affected air quality here in the states. It was really noticeable for a week or more a couple different times. Does the San Diego Stadium still exist? I thought it was ready to be razed? Edit: yup; it’s gone.
  12. Saw some live remotes from Altadena this afternoon and it looks terrible. During one remote there was an elderly woman with two dogs on a bench on the street, waiting for her granddaughter to pick her up but the granddaughter couldn’t get to her because the roads were closed. The reporter asked a truck driver if he could take the lady to a spot where she could meet her granddaughter. They also showed a nursing home being evacuated while embers were flying all around them. A couple hours later the nursing home was gone. Just a terrifying situation and I hope you and yours remain safe.
  13. Hope all goes well for you. There’s 5 fires now as I understand it.
  14. Nope. But my wife has been in tears watching the news and the suffering of so many people. I’m sure the LA officials have more to deal with than worrying about whether a game gets played there.
  15. Yes, and that can all change in the blink of an eye, as I’m sure you have experienced. I’m surprised you are so dismissive of the situation relative to the game considering your experience.
  16. Sorry to hear that. I imagine the availability of emergency response crews also plays into the decision whether to move the game. Watching the news feed of the fires and devastation is heartbreaking.
  17. I’m sure the NFL and local authorities will take your input into consideration.
  18. “Ok kids, we’re going to watch this football game and let’s see which team God likes best”.
  19. SOFI is open-air. It’s covered but not enclosed from the air, smoke, etc. Watching KCAL coverage is distressing; even the reporters were getting emotional walking through the neighborhoods.
  20. Honestly, where else is a guy like that going to earn a living for his family? He’s got a plum job working the Bills sidelines and has to talk for a couple hours a day on the radio. I don’t know how much he makes, but it’s obviously a better gig than what Dunne and the podcasters have to do to make a living.
  21. Beane looking at Gray like a lion looks at a wounded gazelle
  22. It’s amazing to see how far offshore the smoke from those fires is going - hundreds of miles.
  23. Thanks to Aaron Maybin, we now have Josh Allen.
  24. Pegula is not a reactive guy, especially since his wife became ill. Under the circumstances of his personal life and a new stadium to deal with, I can’t see Pegula making changes in the Bills organization. The 17-year drought and history of incompetence also works in McDermott’s favor and will buy him considerable slack.
