I'd have to second that. I don't own any of her CDs but can still name Into The Fire, Angel, Sweet Surrender, Building a Mystery, Adia, Hold On, and Good Enough off the top of my head. I'd also vote to remove Sinead O'Connor citing Mandinka and Emperor's New Clothes

Talk About An Amazing Sports Story!!!
linksfiend replied to PTS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Found the info myself. In episode 102, Real Sports did a piece on Ryan Bellflower from Clovis East High School in CA. Recap is below. Dedication Personified Realizing a dream can be one of the hardest things to accomplish, and Ryan Belflower is proof. A special education student from Clovis East High School in California, he devoted four years to becoming a member of the school's varsity basketball team. His singular pursuit led him to serve as manager of the girls' team, and manage equipment and fill water bottles for the boys' team, culminating in a storybook three-pointer after he was allowed to suit up his senior season. Belflower's transition from a shy, introverted freshman to a basketball player honored on senior night is remarkable, considering the social and developmental disabilities he had to overcome. REAL SPORTS' Frank Deford sits down with Ryan Belflower to retrace his remarkable story of persistence. -
Anyone interested in splitting 4 season tickets for next year (we'll alternately pick games) and playoff tickets this year (we'll all have tickets to all games since you can double up in the playoffs)? I'm in a group of 4 fellas who like to go to games. We've been doing 10-packs/Mini-packs since 1999. We're thinking about upgrading to half-seasons. It's a huge cost savings for the playoffs $30/game vs. $58 game. If interested, either PM me or reply to this thread. If you only are interested in 2 tickets, also please reply and I'll see if I can pair you up.

Didn't Real Sports do a very similar story a couple of episodes ago? -
Ehhh.... it's not real hockey anyway. They lost to a high school boys team in Minnesota.

USA Men's Hockey should stop sending pros
linksfiend replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My vote was no - but a conditional no. I'd like the IOC to set it up the way they do for Olympic soccer - send as many professionals as you want, but limit it to those that are 23 or under. That way you can see emerging stars rather than established pros. -
I understand that these flashbacks occured near the end of Desert Storm. However, does that mean for sure: 1. the video of Sayid in handcuffs was from this capture in 1991? 2. Even if the video being shown in the recruiting office was from 1991, was it live? Or was it just something the Army was showing in the background? If it wasn't live, couldn't it have been 95, 99 or 2003 just as easily?

I can't guarantee anything, but at the bottom left corner of WGR550.com, next to where it says Radio Home of the Buffalo Sabres, there's a link to "Game Radio". I think this might work for the USA-Kazakhstan game.

UConn, I'm not following your logic here, how does this equate to 1991? How could Kate's dad been both in the recruiting office in 1991 and in Iraq? Am I missing something? Please explain.

Can't you post direct quotes from those letters - such as - Jane Smith wrote in her 2/3/2006 letter to the editor of the Johnson City Press "Kim Sams...."? -

Just heard this one from my sister-in-law. She recently taught my 3.5 year old nephew the proper medical term for his dangle down. Well at play group at the local community center, they're doing the hokey pokey, and he busts out with: "You put your p---- in" "You pull your p---- out" -

Yeah - I was there twice. Once in '98, once in '03. It has quickly become on par pricewise with the rest of europe. I was there for 2 days/1 night in '98 and I remember paying like $10 night for a decent hotel and under $10 for dinner for 5 people including a few beers. By 2003, it had gone up considerably. My hotel room was @$80-$100 Euro, beer was @$3 Euro. And they started charging admission to all the sights. So it's not such a bargain anymore. But nevertheless, a beautiful city. I'd highly recommend a visit.

Speaking about evil, what about when they cut to Locke at the end of the first scene where Charlie "sleepwalks" with the baby? Locke looked very demonic in that scene. I agree about the statues - you never know when someone will need a narcotic class pain-killer. I also agree this was an awfully thin episode. I was discouraged to read that ABC extended the casts contracts for a fourth season. It looks like we'll be seeing a lot more filler episodes so they can stretch the story line. Then there's this piece of news also

Question: How hard is it to make those perfect torches you always see on TV - like the three Jack seems to put together in 30 seconds?
-
I don't think that could be the case, Jack was standing right behind Sawyer when Locke brought up Sawyer's real name. I'm wondering if Jack's Dad had smething to do with the breakup. I just got that feeling when he kept telling Jack to go home.

NHL - "Attempt to Deliberate injury"
linksfiend replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. As long as the proper "rules of engagement" are followed (dropping gloves, squaring off), then it's totally clean. I was having an argument with a friend about the Bertuzzi incident and he tried to justify it with Bertuzzi's intent to injure being no different than when two players fight. However I maintain tackling someone from behind and driving their skull into the ice is quite a bit different than following the acknowledged rules of engagement implicit in hockey's code of conduct.
