  1. Not that illusion at all. You seem to forget that the biggest blowback against Bush neocons came from State. Hard to imagine that somehow they regained a voice in Foggy Bottom since that time, especially in an Obama White House that had a polar opposite worldview.
  2. I'm trying to identify all this neocon influence in the Obama admin at State & CIA, after they lost all influence in the second term of Bush's admin?
  3. That's a gross mischaracterization of the theory
  4. Beane didn't go into details on the exact work that Guilamo's team will do for them (for obvious reasons) But this has been rehashed for years, and it's proven in other fields that analytics add another dimension to the decision making. There's no reason it can't be applied to sports, whether it's personnel or game management. We've had a front row seat of the massive gut-feel football failures. Adding more analytical data certainly can't hurt.
  5. According to Beane's interview on WGR last week, Guilamo's analytics consulting was on the football side of things, and different from what Lyons did.
  6. Well in that case, he'll just be taking credit for something where the Obama administration did all the heavy lifting. Ghosts of KRC's diplomacy?
  7. Is that the same star WR that his second team is allowing to go to free agency and effectively throwing away a 2nd round pick? Maybe there's more to the picture?
  8. If Bill Kristol had posted this, you'd accuse him of forwarding the neocon agenda
  9. Seems odd for a franchise that's hoping to build on a regional fan base.
  10. What height bs? Saying that Mayfield looked to be the same height as the 5' 10 Tomlinson is bs?
  11. No, but it will next roll into beef tariffs.
  12. That settles it for me. Great pick up.
  13. NJ is a microcosm of America, condensed into a small plot of land. Very few states have the same degrees of diversity & polarization.
  14. Are we yet at the time when Henry Winkler dusts off the skis?
  15. If the structure is already being hollowed out, and the lawsuit is the fait accompli, then there's no benefit to the remaining power structure for the lawsuit to continue.
  16. Still doesn't make sense because the lawsuit stands to take down DNC. You can't convince me that they would let a Buzzfeed take them down.
  17. That's not the part that doesn't make sense to me. In ordinary circumstances, you can make an argument that Buzzfeed would sue to get that information to save itself. But, if we are to believe that someone connected to DNC murdered Rich and also pulled some heavy strings to completely whitewash the investigation that spanned multiple law enforcement agencies, how can we believe that these people would allow the lawsuit to have been filed and proceed in the first place. It's not that hard to put a financially struggling publication out of business within a week. That's the part that doesn't make sense to me. There are a lot of DNC friendlies at the helm of Buzzfeed.
  18. This is the part that doesn't make sense to me - that Buzzfeed is proceeding with a lawsuit that would take down DNC's claim. Something doesn't add up
  19. It's good to see that this forum can be good comic relief once in a while
  20. Wonder where I heard this one before?
  21. That's why this is bigger than his usual twittersphere blather
  22. I usually draw a distinction between Trumps usual blather and an executive order that's about to go into effect. The good news is the response has been swift and severe enough for him to walk away from the ledge.
  23. Which begs the question on whether Trump's recent twitter tirade against Sessions is continuing theater or Trump continuing being a dumbass
